I brush twice a day but still my teeth not getting whiten so say some natural methods to get whiten.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello. You can use over-the-counter teeth whitening toothpastes, whitening strips, gels, rinses available in the market or visit a dentist for bleaching, scaling, etc. Also, can try the following home remedies: Mix several teaspoons of baking soda with enough fresh lemon juice (or water) to make a paste. Wipe your teeth and any extra saliva off of them with a paper towel. Put a good amount of paste onto your toothbrush and apply. Leave the paste on for 1 minute, then rinse, so as to avoid the acid affecting enamel. If you are using just water you can leave it on for up to 3 minutes. In the morning, before you brush your teeth, scoop out a tablespoon or a little less (depending on the size of your mouth) of coconut oil. You can either soften it, or just put it in your mouth (I usually do the latter, and just let it soften.) Push, swish, and “pull” the oil through and around your teeth for 10-15 minutes, then spit it out, rinse with water, and brush your teeth.

My upper front two teeth were broken during childhood and the new ones which grew have a visible gap between them. I want to get the gap removed/reduced. How much will it cost approximately and how much time it will take if I go for it.

I will suggest you to apply braces through a orthodontist and which can cost you approximately twenty thousand rupees.

Dear sir, my wife age 50 yrs having weak gums as per doctor 1 suggested gum massage and removal of one front teeth and plan to make bridge upper and lower . Doc 2 advised to remove 7 teeth's n make cover bridge both side. What should we do ?

Sir, you have basically seen 2 dentists whose opinions were at variance with each other. So you need to decide which opinion you would like to accept. Try and talk to the dentists, and discuss the reasons for their opinions. Get their rationale for the proposed plan. Maybe get another opinion as well. That might help you decide about the plan most suited to you.

Oil Pulling - How it is Beneficial for Oral Health?

Oil Pulling - How it is Beneficial for Oral Health?

Oil pulling includes gargling oil around the mouth like a mouthwash. During oil pull you put a tablespoon of oil in your mouth and then rinse it around for 15 to 20 minutes. The advantage of doing this is, it decreases the measure of unsafe bacteria in the mouth. The microscopic organisms in the mouth create a biofilm on the teeth a thin layer that they use to stick to the surface. This is what we call ‘plaque’.

Having some plaque on your teeth is only normal. Yet, when it gets out of hand, it can bring about a wide range of issues, including bad breath, yellow teeth, gum aggravation, gingivitis and cavities. The way oil pulling works is basic. When you are gargling oil around your mouth, the bacteria get stuck in it and break down in the fluid oil.

Here is a step-by-step instruction for the procedure:

  1. Add 1 or 2 teaspoons of oil in your mouth. Natural sesame oil is generally used in oil pulling. It is also okay to go with natural coconut oil.
  2. Rinse for around 20 minutes. The oil will get thicker and smooth as it blends with the saliva during this time and it should to be velvety white while releasing. It will be twofold in volume during this time because of the salivation. It can be difficult to gargle for the full 20 minutes, but it is very effective.
  3. Spit the oil into a dustbin in case you have a septic framework. Do not spit into the sink. The oil may thicken and clog the pipes. Try not to swallow the oil as it is ideally full of bacteria, poisons and discharge that are currently not in the mouth.
  4. Wash well with warm water. Warm water will clean the mouth better. Rinse a couple times with warm water to get any residual oil out of the mouth. A few sources prescribe washing with warm salt water.
  5. Brush well. Try to brush with a brushing blend to ensure any bacteria that still remains, is killed.

Some of the most common benefits of oil pulling are as follows:

  1. Can reduce harmful bacteria in the mouth: Streptococcus mutans is one of the principle bacteria in the mouth and a key player in plaque development and tooth decay.
  2. Can reduce plaque and gingivitis: Gingivitis is caused by aggravation of the gums and happens when the immune system begins attacking the microbes in the plaque.
  3. Can reduce bad breath: Bad breath, also called halitosis, is caused by the scent of chemicals and gasses delivered by the bacteria in the mouth.

Usually more calculus (deposits) will affect your gums. So scaling ie the must to remove those calculus. After scaling, most patients will experience those gaps. Gaps are due the removal of the calculus which was previously filled by calculus. Gaps will close by itself once your gums heal. If not so, you may need deep cleaning along with surgical curettage or gum strengthening procedure.

My teeths are yellow and I want to restore their whiteness without any treatment is their any other way.

MDS - Orthodontics, BDS
Dentist, Bangalore
The yellow colour of the teeth is due to the wear out of enamel, the outer surface of your tooth. Hence yellow coloured dentin, the second layer is seen prominently and gives yellow colour. There is only bleaching option that can help you.

There may be cavity in your tooth. Go for x-ray to know about the extent of the cavity. After that treatment can be decided either filling or rct. For temporary relief from pain you can take ketorol dt 2 tabs dissolved in half cup of water

Hi the causes of itchy gums are: 1. Mild inflammation of gums 2. Accumulation of debris on teeth 3. Teeth pushing through gums the best home-remedy is to massage the gums with a mix of mustard oil and salt twice daily for 1 or 2 days. It will sooth the gums. Hope that helps.
