No it is not proven. Many authors have stated that green tea relieves you of so many diseases and cancer may be one of them.

DNB, MBBS
Oncologist, Faridabad
Dear mam, if you have found a lump in your breast, it should be evaluated by a clinician to ascertain the same and if indicated then ultrasound or mammography can be done and needle aspiration if required. Breast pain is usual if your periods are nearing due to inflammation or swelling of breast due to hormonal changes and you can do fomentation and take some pain killer for temporary period also vitamin e supplement some times help.

It's for my sister. She has developed a lump on her breast. It's not painful. It's a movable lump. Local doctors told to operate it. Please suggest what is it and what should be the correct steps for it. As it has been two months since that lump was felt by her.

MS - General Surgery, FMAS.Laparoscopy

Foods to battle cancer

1) vitamin c rich foods

Citrus fruits, guava, amla, tomato, green leafy vegetables all of them are high in vitamin c. This element prevents the formation of cancer-causing nitrogen compounds.

2) berries

Berries top the charts when it comes to cancer fighting foods. Pterostilbene, an antioxidant found in berries is a storehouse of cancer fighting properties

3) sweet potatoes

Sweet potato is full of beta carotene. Studies have revealed that consumption of high beta carotene foods like yellow, red, green colored fruits and veggies reduce the risk of various cancers.

4) flaxseed

Omega 3 fatty acids prevents the growth of cancer by preventing the growth of cancer cells and interrupting the growth of cancerous tumor. Omega-3 fatty acids also help reduce inflammation. Along with fatty fish, one can also include a tbsp of flaxseed in your daily diet.

5) turmeric

Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, acts as both an anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant, and prevents cancer by interfering with aspects of cellular signaling

5) green tea

Tea contains catechins compounds, these compounds restrict the growth of cancer.

6) cruciferous vegetables

Cruciferous vegetables like cauliflower, broccoli cabbage contain phytonutrients which may help inhibit the metabolism of carcinogens and stimulate the body's production of detoxification enzymes.

7) tomato

It contains lycopene which helps prevent prostate and other types of cancer.

8) pomegranates

Pomegranates are rich in ellagic acid. It slows down cancer cell growth and deactivate cancer-causing compounds.

9) onions

Again, a food rich in anti-cancer substances including allicin.

hi..not related to adrenal cancer..  If the number of spermatozoids has decreased and there is a low level oftestosterone in the blood, it is likely that you are experiencing testicular atrophy I.e, decrease testicle size. Testicular atrophy has many possible causes and in the case of such a diagnosis , you should consult a urologist or endocrinologist.

Hi my age is 19 years old and I am noticing lump in my breast and as I have checked google its the sign of breast cancer so seriously I have cancer or it is something else.

MBBS, M.S. General Surgery, M.R.C.S. England, M.Ch. Surgical Oncology, DNB Surgical Oncology, FEBS Surgical Oncology, DNB General Surgery, MNAMS, FMAS, FIAGES, FAIS, FICS, FEBS Breast Surgery, FACS, Fellowship IFHNOS & MSKCC USA, Fellowship in breast and oncplastic Surgery

It is unlikely to have breast cancer at 19 years unless you have p53 mutation or some other familial mutation. Even for BRCA1 mutation which has 50% chance of developing breast cancer by the age of 50 years, 19 years is a bit too early. The most common cause of breast lump is fibroadenoma, but could be fibrocystic change, fat necrosis, Breast cysts, granulomatous mastitis, abscess or phylloides tumor. It's better to see a breast surgeon or a Surgical oncologist, who will examine you, and may ask for an ultrasound with SOS FNAC or core biopsy if any significant finding. I hope I was able to answer your query. Feel free to contact me directly if you want to discuss further.
