Hi I recently asked what will happen if some tissue paper is left inside teeth while filling. Most of the doctors said that the filling will fall out. I want to know why will the filling fall out even when the filling is put in layers and the tissue paper is at the bottom beneath all the layers of filling. Thank you.

Most important factor for filling to stay in place is bonding. Bonding can either be chemical with the help of bonding agents used for composite fillings or directly of the cement like glass ionomer with the tooth surface. It varies from one cement material to another. In your case it is hard to understand why tissue paper was left? In this case tissue paper fibers will interfere with the bonding and definitelt increase the chance of failure of restoration.

On upper left side on last side I have extra teeth. I was touching it with tongue and was cleaning there with finger. But from three days I have little bit pain there in muscle. I am confused is it muscle pain irritation there or tooth pain but its not too much. When I am touching outside mouth near zygomatic facial muscle it pains inside upside the extra tooth. When I chew something it irritates that part there. Tell me what is this please.

Hello It is advisable that you kindly visit your nearby dentist ASAP to get a proper clinical examination done so that exact cause of pain may be determined. Pain you are experiencing may be due to many reasons; caries in that extra tooth you are describing, that extra tooth putting pressure on some nerve are to name some. The dentist may also advise you to go for some x-rays, which will help in diagnosing the actual reason of pain and further eliminating that reason. Kindly follow the advice and put an end to your sufferings.

When A Tooth Brush Can Be Changed?

Bachelor of Dental Surgery
Dentist, Allahabad
When A Tooth Brush Can Be Changed?
  • A tooth brush can be safely used until it's fibers become hard and brush fibers spreading. When brush fibers becomes hard and start spreading we should change our tooth brush. Continuous use of a harden and spreading tooth brush cause more abrasion of tooth and puncture of gums and bleeding of gums. At long time use of this can cause gingival recision and thermal sensation of teeth.
  •  A brush can be safely used approx 20 to 30 days.
