Hi I am 37 yrs old. In early age while playing I got hurt into my left leg's knee and below area. I had used different types of oil, tablets but no result. I feel my leg tired 7 paining.

This could be due to oa knee &/or obesity. Physiotherapy along with medicines will help. Do knee exercises. It may have to be further investigated rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with a soft bedding on it. Any way take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Hello. You are too young for this issue. But these days it's quite common that a patient of this age group comes for these issues. Opt for physio session rather being on medicine. Rule out whether the pain is limited to back only or going down in legs. Try to strengthen your back muscles to avoid unwanted stress on your spinal bones. Regards!

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

My boyfriends leg got swollen suddenly. He was having a terrible pain since 3 to 4 days the same area he had been given injections a year n half before. Coz he was admitted. We are confused about the fact y is it paining after so long. N it got terribly swollen. He is not able to walk also. Is it something to worry about? What could be the reason. Need concern it is most likely not the complication of injection of 1 years back history suggest DVT, or a infection /cellulitis need urgent treatment.

Hi = relax and stay positive. = increase fluid intake. = eat seasonal fruits for natural vitamins = do streching of hamstring, quadriceps, and calf muscles. = if you are overweight, reduce weight by cycling or swimming as it gives low impact on joints. = do check your calcium and vit. D = apply moist heat pad to affected joint and muscles. If still you dont get relief consult physiotherapist as there are various causes for leg/ joint pain and some test may be required for further investigation. Best wishes.

Since you are suffering for last 4 years, You may be having Gastric ulcer or GERd (gastro oesophageal reflux disease. I advice you to do an upper GI endoscopy after consulting gastro enterologist and follow the advice and treatment 1. Take bland diet, Avoid foods which cause acidity like spicy, oily, fatty and junk foods, onion, garlic, citrus fruit like orange grape, lemon, tomato, cucumber, raddish, vinegar, pickle etc 2. Have proper Breakfast, Don’t skip or postpone your meal, Take home made food, Avoid food and water from outside, 3. Eat food slowly, don’t rush, take smaller meals at frequent intervals like 5-6 meals per day, and don't overeat. Limit fluid intake during meal4. Drink plenty of water (8-10 glass daily). Take your meal regularly and timely. Avoid fasting, Don’t skip your breakfast. 5. Stop smoking, consumption of alcohol and tobacco, excess tea or coffee, carbonated drinks if you are having,6. Avoid stress, have adequate rest, sleep for 7-8 hours daily in night, go for regular exercise, practice yoga/meditation.

Apply pranacharya restopain oil or prasarini oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. And agni tundi vati and maha yograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day. Avoid junk food. Spicy food. Fermented food. Tea. Alcohol. Avoid alcohol consumption. Do pranayama early morning.

Dear lybrate-user, Back pains have become very common these days. Long working hours on the computer, travelling long distances, and improper postural habits are the causes for the back pain among individuals in the recent past. You need to exercise regularly to get rid of your back pain. Meet a Physiotherapist who would assess you and prescribe you the exercises specific to your back pain. As of now give hot water fomentation twice daily and specially before going to bed at night. Apply pain reliving ointments gently on the back. Wish you good health and a speedy recovery.

For example, a heating pad may be applied to warm up the muscles prior to doing exercising and stretching, and an ice pack may be used afterward to sooth the muscles and soft tissuesctive physical therapy, which focuses on specific exercises and stretching. For most low back pain treatments, active exercise is the focus of the physical therapy programDepending upon the patient's specific diagnosis and level of pain, the back pain exercises andrehabilitation programs will be very different, so it is important for patients to see a spine specialist trained to develop an individualized program of back exercises and to provide instruction on using the correct form and techniqu. Most of us will suffer from back or neck pain at some stage during our lives. The good news is, however, in most cases the pain is not serious in nature and can be remedied. Postural related back pain generally stems from sitting for long periods with overloaded or tight back and pelvic muscles. For example, if your rear thigh muscles (hamstrings) are tight, when you sit they will pull the pelvis out of position and increase tension on the lower back muscles. This in turn overstretches your back muscles and with lengthy periods of sitting will cause pain. This is one example of many variations of postural related back pain. However, one thing will be in common, progressively developing back pain from long periods of overstretched and overloaded back muscles and ligaments. When you first start to develop postural back pain it manifests itself as a low grade ache which tends to be relieved with light exercise or avoiding sitting. But after a while the pain increases and tends to be there most of the time regardless of what you do. It should be noted that a small percentage of back pain is caused by more serious conditions like a prolapsed disc or nerve compression. Symptoms that suggest a more serious back problem are leg pains, pins and needles or weakness in your leg or foot. These symptoms need to be properly assessed by a Chartered Physiotherapist.

After my right side neck bone fracture my shoulders are popping sounds, I was a student i do less weight carrying works some times I may get saviour pain to my right hand and after allow it shifts to my left hand. When I move my hands I will hear click sounds and may cause pain too.

I have LBP and radiation in both leg below waist since last 6-7 year & now pain in neck also. I have taken advised from orthopedician & he advised for MRI of spine. That report is normal.in other diagnosis my Vit D3 and folate label is lower for that I am taking folvite 5 mg OD & Ultra D3 weekly since last 1 month. But no improvement in pain and radiation. How Hot And Cold Therapy Helps Treat Arthritis Pain?

Arthritis is painful inflammation of the joints caused by excessive amounts of uric acid in the blood. This causes friction in the joints and may cause inflammation among muscle tissues. This is a very painful condition and may even be debilitating for many people. One of the methods used to provide relief from arthritis pain is the hot and cold therapy. Let’s have a look at it in detail.

How does hot and cold treatment work’s?

The hot and cold treatments work on various joints or muscle areas and are very effective in lowering pain as well as providing more mobility to the affected areas. Both these therapies try to enable the healing forces within the body and hence improve on the conditions which cause arthritis pain.

Heat treatment therapy: Heat therapy uses the principle of the expansion of material when warmer. If heat is applied to an affected area, it dilates the blood vessels, improves and stimulates blood circulation and also reduces muscle spasms. Heat treatments are very effective in soothing stiff joints and tired muscles as they encourage the flow of blood to the areas being treated. Some of the options available for heat treatments would be:

1. Heats patches that are disposable

2. Heating belts made for specific parts of the body

3. Moist heating pads

4. Simple hot water in a tub

5. Paraffin wax and Mineral oil

6. Hot oil massages

7. Warms showers or baths

8. Warmed towels or clothes used as a hot compress

Cold treatment therapy: Cold uses the very opposite principle of heat therapy to provide pain relief to arthritis patients. Cold has the properties of being able to constrict blood vessels and slow the flow of blood, thus resulting in numbing the area and reducing pain. Cold treatment is also very effective in reducing swelling as it can fight inflammation very effectively. It is mostly useful in cases of acute and chronic pain and is a very good pain reliever. Some of the options available for cold treatments would be:

1. Cold compress by using ice in a waterproof bag with a towel covering it to protect the skin.

2. Buying a medically manufactured ice pack or bag

3. Buying ice gel packs from the medical store which can be frozen and then used

4. Making ice packs at home by mixing water with rubbing alcohol and then freezing it

I am suffering from spondylosis with c-3 to c-7 in the x-ray shows gap. What is the remedy? I am undergoing physiotherapy at present. Pain killer tablets give only temporary relief. I am undergoing traction and ultrasound treatment from doctor at present.

Hope your physiotherapy treatment is going well. I would request you to please ask your physio to check the grade of your pain and if possible then tell him to start giving you manipulations therapy along with laser which will help you to get instant relief from your pain and discomfort. Let me help you with I-care home program that I have specially designed for patients suffering from neck and back pain. I have practically applied on many of my patients and received a very good result. The treatment include: 1. Ice massage - Take ice pain perform massage over the area which is painful and have swelling. Do “to” and “fro” motion. Apply it for 8-10 minutes and then relax your body for another 3-5 minutes. 2. Deep massage - Using your finger tips start kneading your affected area. 3 finger kneading or 2 finger kneading or you can use thumb also for kneading. Once done with kneading again relax your body for 3-5 minutes. 3. Now apply any pain relieving ointment like volini or oraflame etc. Do not massage with the ointment. Just apply it gently involving all the area. Do not penetrate it. Once done with application again relax your body for 3-5 minutes and start performing isometric exercises. If pain reduces then you can start stretching exercises also depending on your level of pain. Please contact me if you face any problem while performing

A muscle strain in one or more of the quadriceps muscles represents the most common cause of leg pain from stair climbing. Other possible injuries include inflammation of the rectus femoris tendon or iliotibial band syndrome. Other possible injuries include inflammation of the rectus femoris tendon or iliotibial band syndrome. When you start to notice that your legs feel weak all the time whenever you climb stairs, then it may indicate a more serious underlying condition. See a physiotherapist immediately if your symptoms aren't relieved by icing and rest. Best wishes.
