Hello according to your condition you have to take hot water fermentation through towel and do it 3 times in a day duration-15 min along with stretching and back exercises like straingh leg raising, bridging with -20 min repetition -5 sec hold do it for 3 days sure you will get well soon take care.

Hi Thanks for your query and welcome to Lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from Fortis hospital, New Delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - To maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - If pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - Physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - Adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - Ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - Analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - Avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc We will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Kindly show me photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take biod3 max 1 tab dailyx10 paracetamol 250mg od & sos x5days do back (spine)/shoulder/knee exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do not ignore it. It could be beginning of a serious problem. If no relief in 4_5 days, then contact me again.

Do take conservative treatment like IFT and Vacuum Therapy treatment for 12 days followed by Strengthening exercises from Sports medicine rehabilitation specialist.Avoid putting more pressure or any strenuous activities best wishes

Hello lybrate-user, If your knee pain is persistent for the past few months and is not going despite medications and rest, you need to consider getting an MRI of knee joint done. Pop sounds from the knee can be due to Loose bodies/meniscal tear/ligamentous injury etc and needs to be clinically examined. Regards.

You need to be clinically examined by musculoskeletal physiotherapist or orthopaedician asap to rule out nerve deficit for pain you can have hot water and cold water fomentation thrice a day for 10 days of 15 minutes duration each time at home.

I am 46yrs old male having spine surgery[ l4-l5] on 4th feb 2015. Dr. Prescribe me tab linezolide 600mg for infection. Since last 30 days I have taken this med. Now I have side effect like headache, vomiting. Stomachache, naucia what can I do? contineu med. Or stop it?

Hi thanks for your query. I am dr akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Actually you do not need tab linezolid after normal spine surgeries. If there was an infection, then your medications have to conrinue in supervision and as required. I need to know what is current wound status, your latest cbc, esr and crp values etc to be able to comment. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Two glasses of milk contain around 14 gram of protein while the polyunsaturated fats in almond add those extra calories when included in the everyday diet. Crush a handful of almonds and add it to the boiling milk. Simmer it for five minutes. You can sweeten it with a tsp of sugar. Then, pour it in a glass and sip it slowly. To make it more effective, you may put in dates and dried figs in the boiling milk. Drink it twice daily for two months.

Hello, this may be due to following reasons- 1. Overweight, 2. Deficiency of vitamin d3 or calcium, 3. Postural stress, 4. Muscle strain, 5. Arthritis etc. You can follow these advises:- 1. Take calcium supplements and sun bath daily to prevent further damage to your joints. 2. Avoid heavy lifting. 3. Avoid squatting and weight bearing activities. 4. Use western toilet. 5. Wear shock absorbing, good quality of shoes while walking. 6. Keep roll of a towel under your knees while sleeping. 7. Perform some gentle exercises and stretching of your all joints before getting out of your bed. 8. Walk straight with shoulder protracted. 9. Perform deep breathing exercises or yoga for proper functioning of lungs. I can explain you stiffness and pain reducing techniques, if interested. Wish you a happy and pain free life thanks.

Your problem can be related to Muscular Spasm.Due to old age,lack of exercise ,your back muscles are weak and whilee in same posture during driving there is no movement for long,these muscle go into spasm.and hence you feel pain.After some movement these spasmed muscles becomes somebut mobile and hence pain reduces. Hello, Kindly follow advises given below 1.Avoid using computers continuously, take rest for 5 min after working for half an hour 2. In pain free interval do neck exercise (kindly learn exercise by registered Trainer) 3. you can use thin pillow while sleeping so that normal posture of neck can be maintained 4.Maintain proper posture of body while watching TV/ studying Kindly go for cervical X ray AP and lateral and review with reports consult Orthopeditian for further management

Back pain could be due to bad posture or low vitamin d levels in a majority of cases so learn spinal extension exercises from a physiotherapist and do them upto 3 times a day 20 mins each. Get your vitamin d and uric acid levels done fasting and revert back with reports.

Hello, firstly it will be good if you can share your reports, prescription, and exercise you have been following from 8 yrs. Meanwhile take few precautions. Take hot water fomentation or if there is swealing in knee apply cold pack for 20 min. At every 3hrs. Interval. Do not lift heavy weights. Do not ignore your knee pain and do reply for private consultation and detailed treatment plan. Best wishes.

I am 44 years old I have numbness in my left leg thigh when I am sitting in my chair it feels uncomfortable and also when I am riding my bike. This problem was there for me couple of years but now only I can feel the severity I had consulted doctor and got medicinal treatment but I don't feel satisfied. Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Numbness in your thigh region could commonly be due to two reasons: - it could be radiation from spine region if there is a compression of a nerve there, so please tell me whether you have back pain issues, or did you have them previously? - other reason could be entrapment of lateral cutaneous nerve, a condition called a meralgia, but the symptoms are usually more towards outer aspect of thigh. Actually if you have the first one, mri is then the best investigation because we cannot allow numbness because of compression in spine to remain there for a long time. For the second option, we can give a good trial of physical therapy to see how you are doing, and then also add some medicines kindly let me know and if possible please attach doctor's prescription papers and investigations done by you till now for the existing problem.
