My son is 9 months old. He had suddenly stopped drinking breast milk, dint noe the reason. Later found out he had blisters in his mouth due 2 wch he was refusing 2 suckle. He dint take milk 4 almost 4 days, due 2 wch milk supply has reduced. If he start sucking again, will it increase? How cn I increase my milk production?

calories demand increases with activity of child, and 9months is cut of age for increased activity. It may be possible he is more satisfied in term of calories, with semisolid food.thus just give breast 8hourly and try to give more energetics food.keep watch on wait gain.

Don't bother about weight. If you are son is active n healthy. His weight is OK. But still I suggest for his good health. You can give him pediagold. In milk. There is three favour chocolate, vanilla n mango all three are good. This is safe.

After the age of six months, babies need complementary food along with breastmilk. Fresh, home cooked foods which have a thick, soft consistency are best for babies when you start complementary feeding.

Pediatrician,
How old is child? How strongly is mt positive, in terms of induration in mm? Is bcg vaccination given? These are the circumstances, which decide if child needs treatment.

Your child may be down with viral fever (may be dengue or chickengunia). Sponge body for 30 minutes if temp is over 102 F. Complete bed rest with plenty of fluids & normal diet is advised. Paracetamol can be given to reduce fever & pain in extremities.

My 50 days baby is not taking mothers milk continuously. Can we give her some baby food.

My 50 days baby is not taking mothers milk continuously. Can we give her some baby food.
The only food that is allowed to be given to a child till her is 4 months completed, is milk. If there is not enough breast milk, you can give him other milks--formula or cow's milk or whole milk. But you cannot give him any other food. Of course, you should not starve him and you need to give him some supplement. You can try with formula or cows mild. Give him whichever suits him best.

My 2 months old baby has noisy breathing at times of feeding and crying and other times he is normal. Is it normal? What cuses this noisy sound? Is it treatable? Please help.

MS - ENT(Gold Medalist), MBBS

This condition is called laryngomalacia that is due to soft immature airway in infant that collapses during crying and produce noise during breathing. But there is nothing to worry, it will resolve itself with time.

It may not be necessary to give Pedicloryl to the child. Babies cry if their ears get blocked. It is better to give a use Nasoclear saline nasal drops along with continued breast/bottle feeding during the flight splly during take off and landing. This avoids the blockade of ears and baby remains a comfortable.
