My father (58) facing heavy cold sweating, sometimes vomiting and low pulse (around 40). This types of symptoms comes within a gap of 8 to 10 days. When it starts, it stay up to 1 or 2 days and after taking any gas medicine it goes up. After that pulse is normal around 70bits/min. Last week, he felt counsesinious and we admitted in hospital. Doctor asking to implant pace maker. Is this a right treatment, they are doing ?Please help me in this regard. Should I change hospital? We also have done angiogram and it shows no blockage. MRI also shows no problems.

Mostvimportant clue will be obtained from his ECG. You must mention whatvthe ecg report says. This seems to me as episodes of bradycardia and pulsecrate 40 is possible in complete heart block. When such episode happens, you may ask him to fo very light exercises lije moving his arm abovrvthevhead and bring it down. Repeat a fewvtimes and see if his pulse rate increases.in case of complete heart block, there will be no increament of pulse rate with exercise. Waiting on this patient may be risky, so act fast. Take a secong opinion asap, in case of a complete block, a pacemaker is mandatory. Review his medicines he is taking.

Dear lybrate-user You have to take the HP Kit ad follows set of three (the leaf is having two shades in equal halves, blue and yellow. Each half contains a set of three tabs / cap. Each half of three is to be taken half an hour before breakfast and before dinner for 7 days. If needed, the prep can be repeated or extended as advised by your doctor. Also. You have to be careful about your diet and other habits. It should be non-spicy. If you are a smoker, that will aggravate your problem. Smoking is a complete No for those who smoke. Please check for the following: Blood for CBC, ESR, R A Factor (quantitative), Serum Iron, TIBC, Serum Transferrin level, Thalassemia study The food you mentioned are not rich in iron (like milk is poor in iron content). You may take dates, Palak (Spinach), Cabbage etc. Mutton liver is a rich source, (for non-vegetarians). It could be a Thalassemia minor where Haemoglobin remains low despite adequate diet. It is hereditary state. I suggested for screening for collagen disorder like rheumatoid arthritis etc. If you have stiffness in the joints persiting for more than an hour on waking up in the morning, you may have that in you. Please report to me through this platform.

Depends. If your sugar control is good you may do it less frequently. If your dietary control is at par. Your daily routine like exercise etc. Are regular. You observe on an average your sugar levels at different occasion are fairly the same you may reduce frequency. Take different samples like fasting (should be around 120. Random (should be around 200) and pp (should be around 140-150. Check your hba1c once in 6 months and it should be around 6.5-7.00. With danila (glibenclamide) the problem of hypoglycemia is high. It may be better if you change over to similar group if drugs like glimeperide that is less likely to have this risk. Consult your treating physician to get his advice on this.

Surgery is asked only for chronic tonsillitis. As there is a risk of developing tonsillary cancer if kept held for too long. Cost varies anything from 25000/- to 35000/- both tonsils togather. For unaffording patients there are social works department in major govt or municipality hospitals. The social worker can help to raise funds.
