What about stiffness in the mornings.please help sir.?

Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days bio d3 max 1tab od x10 do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do reply back for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

I am 59 year old male suffering from pain and stiffness in ankle joint and tendon behind the ankle and calf muscle. Please advise.

Kindly show me x ray of your ankle (front & side views) before I can give any opinion. Pain in heels & ankle is a common condition rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Do hot fomentation keep a pillow under the legs at night &/when resting. Any way take take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days caldikind plus (mankind) 1 tab odx10days you will need other supportive medicines also. Do ankle/foot & toe exercises it may have to be further investigated make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

My accident happen as a train accident and my both femur fractured in both the femur doctor put rod. I got accident on 2010 it's almost 6 year. First while walking gate problem but it's become very less now is it possible to walk straight without any gate problem. Rod is now also along with femur.

there is minimal gait abnormality found in such types of operations if surgeon performed good surgery. Due to muscle weakness and knee there is some gait problem but resolves as the muscles strengthen.

Yes it is harmfull to bear more weight on single leg. There may be so many reasons in this case. May be you have weak left hip joint or may be your left knee has arthiritis that's why your left leg is not taking equal weight. Or weakness of left leg muscles can also be the cause. So first you should visit some orthopedician and get yourself checked and diagnosed properly. A proper diagnosis is must for a proper treament.

Hi Thanks for your query and welcome to Lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from Fortis hospital, New Delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - To maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - If pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - Physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - Adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - Ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - Analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - Avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc We will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. I see that you had to go through difficult times during your boarding school days. Since you were ill treated by your friends you probably have lost faith in people. It has affected your self esteem as well. You are probably feeling worthless. Hence you do not find any joy in life and feel lonely and sad. I also sense that you are ashmed of yourself. I feel very sorry to see what all this has done to you. But please remember, that you are unique. Whatever has happened in your boarding school, it's over now. If it was your mistake, please understand that we all are human beings and we all make mistakes. So forgive yourself and try not to repeat the mistake. If it was not your mistake and if still you were defamed, then have faith in yourself and don't allow others' negativity affect your soul. Because, you know your own self but others may not be able to recognise your true personality. Tell yourself that you do not need anyone's certificate. If you think that you need to improve upon certain personal skills, try to learn some new life skills. Try to be true to your own self and to others. Try to make new friends, understand the goodness in each person you meet, compliment people if you like something about them, keep company of people with positive attitude. If possible seek support from your family - talk to them. Once you gain back your self confidence, and once you start making friends, you will start laughing and start enjoying life again. Take care.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Actually pain at calf/leg region can be due to many reasons, commonly it is muscular in nature but it can also be due to tendons, nerves, blood vessels etc. My advise to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - intensive physical therapy, training and proper muscle conditioning once pain has subsided - slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre activity warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - we will get some blood tests for you - serum vitamin d and serum potassium levels, esr and crp once you have all these reports then you can contact me as I can advise you for proper supplementation do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

You are having lower back pain, it is common in pregnancy, no need to worry about that, and you are feeling fetal movements it is a good sign, it indicates that your baby is healthy.

Hello since your backpain is not chronic you should start physiotherapy treatment you will good result. Meanwhile take few precautions. 1) take hot water fomentation for 20 min. At every 3hrs. Interval. 2) do not lift heavy weights or twist your spine 3) do not wear high heals do not ignore your back pain and do reply for private consultation and detailed treatment plan. Best wishes. Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening. Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Consult privately after 5 days. For further guidance and treatment.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily – Lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana? Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Hello user. Ok your problem can be minimise if you take care of yourself timely. So first of all don't use pillow when sleep. Sit, walk straight, and must do yoga. Must do neck and shoulder exercises. While using laptop. Or watching tv. Sit properly. Less use of mobile phones. Eat properly. Drink milk with 1pinch of haldi at night. Take fresh air fruits vegetables. Put hot water bottle on neck.

Arthritis is swelling of joints with pain , stiffness . There are some methods you can apply : • Do exercise such as walking that strength your muscles and move your joint .From movement of joint you got relief from pain and stiffness. •Gentle massage your joints with lukewarm oil. You can use medicated oil.you can apply ice packs and heat with warm water bottle on your painful area. • If you are obese then lose some weight . Heavy weight make strain on your joint and causes pain. • Take healthy diet avoid junk foods.Take diet rich in calcium such as milk, cheese.Do not take stress . • you can take physiotherapy advice . • Stretch your body lightly in the morning when get out from the bed. • Eat healthy diet green leafy vegetables and fruits. * Take one teaspoon of haldi with milk it will reduce your swelling .

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).
