Lycopodium deals most effectively with baldness on the sides and on top of the scalp. It is also one of the most successful Homeopathic medicines for hair regrowth in baldness cases where the baldness appears prematurely. For baldness in women after childbirth too, Lycopodium is the Homeopathic medicine to prescribe.

I am losing hair quickly and have tried all shampoos but not effect yet I am not sure what else can I do can you help me with this.

IAT, BHMS
Ayurveda, Mumbai
Hair loss happens due to various reasons and shampoos alone will never be able to stop your hair loss. There could be some nutritional deficiency or hereditary factor or some medical problem if it has persisted for mor than three months. I would like to advise you to have a balanced meal with enough proteins and have two cups of green tea daily. Also have walnuts, almonds and flaxseeds regularly. Start a multivitamin supplement and exercise atleast four times a week to improve blood circulation to the scalp. If your hair loss does not reduce in two months after doing this you may need further investigation. An early treatment is the key to successful results in hair loss cases as the damage to hair follicles can be prevented with the right treatment.

Better you take Sulphur 0/2 daily in morning and evening for 1 week. It will be reduced and then gone. It will start healing from the first dose itself. Take care. :)

Hair fall loss continuous. Use no of medicine but no frofit. Suggest some other medicine.

Vaidya Visharad
Ayurveda, Narnaul
One should avoid eating certain food and edible items completely to control falling of hair. Consuming Nicotine, Alcohol, Caffeine and Sugar can result in lowering of nutrient level your body drastically. This can lead to hair loss and high androgen production because of increase in adrenal levels in your body .

I am 20 years old. I daily keep oil to my head, I have a lot of dandruff from 3 years, I follow lot of home made tips and applied to my hair, but no use. What should I do?

B.Sc. - Dietitics / Nutrition, Nutrition Certification,Registered Dietitian
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Delhi
Control oily scalp and dandruff with - 1. Use mild shampoo to wash hair (you can make your own shampoo using reetha and shikakai at home) 2. Stop using conditioners. Use natural conditioners like egg, yougurt and lemon. 3. Massage your scalp with a mix of oils like olive, coconut, sesame, castor oil at night. 4. Apply raw amla juice on hair thrice a week. 5. Rub your scalp with the juice of white onion. 6. Use a paste of bhringraj on hair. 7. You can use some good hair packs like - fenugreek and yogurt, egg and green tea. 8. You can rinse your hair with organic apple cider vinegar after washing your hair to maintain ph balance of your hair. 9. Hair health depends on the amount of protein in your diet. Foods like chicken, eggs, fish, nuts, dry fruits gives you the required nutrients to keep your skin and hair healthy. So consume plenty of them. Eat things rich in vitamin c like amla and oranges. 10. Drink lots of water to flush out toxins from the body.

Hi I am always facing hair lose problem can you please tell me how to overcome with this issue?

Vaidya Visharad

Say no to chemical treatment of hair. Chemical treatments like relaxers do make curly hair look longer, though they drastically slow down the growth of men’s hair.

Fungal infection is due to excessive sweating and humidity. Avoid using soap in the affected area and keep it dry. Use antifungal cream.

Is hair transplant is safe (no side effects of medicines) n permanent? Please advice me.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Although Hair transplant is safe but is never permanent. It is a costly procedure.Ok,let us say that we can bear the one time initial treatment cost also ( because lookss matter me the most) but what about after cossts. The cost of maintainence of these hairs is also very high.Although these hairs look exactly the original but their life is not permanent and weaving of hairss is required every 6-12 months for their wear and tear.So if you have enough money in your pocket and you are extra consious of your looks they go for it otherwise it is waste of money.

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

Hi, nowadays, hair fall is a common phenomena. We should give little concern for this as the causes may differs. Usually it is due to dandruff, stress conditions, mal nutrition etc. Daily fall of 100 numbers of hair is normal. If it is more than that we have to take care of it. Yours is dandruff problem. So make sure that you should clean your scalp daily. 1. Durdurapathradi keram 50ml+kaiyonyadi keram 50ml- take equal quantity of both oils and make it little warm and apply in you scalp and massage. Leave it for 30 minutes. After that take a head bath with along with green gram powder or mild shampoo. Dry off the scalp and do comping. Do it for I month. 2. Drink plenty of water. 3. Take a good sleep everyday 4. Consume a balanced diet 5. Daily 2 gooseberries.

Fungal Nail Infection

MBBS, DDV
Dermatologist, Mumbai
Fungal Nail Infection

Fungal infection of nails (tinea unguium) is common. The infection causes thickened and unsightly nails which sometimes become painful. Medication often works well to clear the infection but you need to take medication for several weeks.

How do you develop a Fungal Nail Infection?

  • Spread from a fungal skin infection. For example, Athletes foot(tinea pedis)is a fungal infection of your toes. This may spread to the toenails if the skin infection is not treated early.
  • Fingernail infection may occur after a toenail infection has become established. The fungus may spread to a finger if you scratch your itchy toes and toenail.
  • Fingernail infections are also more likely to occur if you wash your hands frequently, or have them in water a lot. For example, if you are a cook or a cleaner. Constant washing may damage the protective skin at the base of the nail. This may allow fungi to enter.
  • A nail that has recently been damaged is also more likely to become infected.
  • You have an increased risk of developing a fungal nail infection if you have various other conditions - for example:
    • Diabetes
    • Psoriasis
    • Poor circulation.
    • A poor immune system (for example, if you have AIDS or are on Chemotheraphy)
    • A general poor state of health.
  • Nail infections are more common in people who live in hot or humid climates.
  • Smoking also increases the risk of Fungal Nail Infection.
  • In some cases there is no apparent reason. Fungal germs are common and an infection can occur 'out of the blue'
