Hello lybrate-user. From the symptoms described by you, it seems more likely to be due to allergy. You should KNOW YOUR EYE ALLERGY first. •There are various EYE ALLERGIES TRIGGERS: A person can be allergic to: Pollen from grasses, weeds, and trees. These are the most common kinds of eye allergies and are called SEASONAL ALLERGIC CONJUNCTIVITIS. •Dust, pet dander, and other indoor allergens. These eye allergies last year-round and are called CHRONIC (PERENNIAL) CONJUNCTIVITIS. •Makeup, perfume, or other chemicals can trigger eye allergies called CONTACT CONJUNCTIVITIS. •An allergy to contact lenses, called GIANT PAPILLARY CONJUNCTIVITIS, makes eyes sensitive and red. Just like any other allergic reaction, they are caused by a MISFIRING OF THE IMMUNE SYSTEM, the body's natural defense mechanism. It releases HISTAMINE, a chemical that causes swelling and inflammation. Symptoms to Watch For •Red, irritated eyes •Itchiness •Tearing or runny eyes •Swollen eyelids •Soreness, burning, or pain •Sensitivity to light Usually you’ll also have other allergy symptoms, such as a stuffy, runny nose and sneezing. DON'T TAKE YOUR EYES FOR GRANTED! Protect your sight with these six tips: 1. Eat for Good Vision 2. Quit Smoking 3. Wear Sunglasses / helmets to shield your eyes from dust, sunlight, pollution 4. Wash your eyes 3-4 times a day 5. Look Away From the Computer Screen at regular intervals 6. Avoid rubbing your eyes with fingers/ cloth/ shirt/ dupatta, etc. Also, I have a few suggestions for you regarding the usage of computers, mobile phones and books. Follow the rule of" 20" This means that every 20 minutes, take a gap of 20 seconds, blink your eyes actively 20 times and focus at an object which is minimum 20 feet away. This will help in relieving your eyes from the continuous strain that is caused due to staring. Staring at the computer continuously causes us to subconsciously blink less than normal. This causes the tear film on the surface of the eye to dry up. The result of this is pain, discomfort, etc. Another suggestions regarding the usage of computers is to maintain a proper posture. The computer must be positioned at the same height as your eye level. The neck should not be inadvertently flexed or extended. Roughly, an angle of 90 degrees should be maintained between your upper body and thighs. Likewise, a similar angle (90 degrees) should be maintained between your lower legs and thighs. Also the angle between your hands and arms should be roughly 90 degrees. This is the healthy ergonomic way of sitting while using a computer. Maintenance of proper posture would help in further relieving the symptoms of eye discomfort and pain. You could consider preservative free lubricant eye drops 4 to 5 times daily. These eye drops would ensure that your eyes stay well lubricated and fresh. All these suggestions may take a while to sink in and imbibe in your routine. Once followed, they are sure to work wonders for you. Hope my suggestions help you.

There is no medication or food for improving eyesight or to get rid of glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 18 years so your number will not increase much now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. As you are not comfortable with contact lens then go for lasik. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik.

Most of software professionals don't know how to work on computer for long time without giving trouble to eyes. While working on computer number of blinking drastically goes down from around 24 per minute to around 8 per minute leading to severe dryness causing burning, eyestrain, blurring of vision & headache. One should try to have normal blinking while working on computer, should look away from screen after every 10 minute , should take rest for 10 minute after every 2 hours& should wear antiglare glass. Software professionals should use lubricating eye drops 4-5 times daily (Systane ultra)&genteal gel once at bed time. You may wear antiglare glass while working on computer after getting refraction done by ophalmologist .

I have yellow eyes in 5 days and my hand pained about 8 days. What can I do you say me please?
Hello, Diseases of the liver, including hepatitis and cirrhosis, can turn the scleras yellow. So, get your Liver Function test done to rule out these. Get back to me with the reports. For pain in hand: Is there any history of injury or hurt to the area? Any underlying medical condition? Medication: Meantime, take homoeopathic medicines - Arnica 200 and Rhus Tox. 200 - take both of them thrice daily for 1 week. Also, apply Schwabe's Topi-Arnica and Topi MP Gel on the affected area in circular motions gently thrice a day. And wrap crepe bandage over it. Get back to me thereafter.

I have red eyes since last 2 week. Which creates a problem whenever I study. Please help me?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)

I have red eyes since last 2 week. Which creates a problem whenever I study. Please help me?
Your Red Eyes are due to Eye strain, or asthenopia, and this is a condition when the eyes get tired from excessive or intense use. It can be annoying, but it tends to disappear with rest. Although it’s not often a serious condition, eye strain could be a symptom of an underlying problem. Eye strain is known to cause fatigue, difficulty concentrating, Rednes and watering Eyes and headaches. The first thing you can do is change your environment and work habits. By doing this you can relieve the pain and Redness without spending money on treatment. While Studying try taking more eye breaks by looking down the hall or out the window, or by closing your eyes for thirty seconds.Try standing up, moving around, or taking a short walk to help regain concentration. Regular eye exercises that involve focusing on different distances can help prevent future straining. Blink often. Blinking refreshes and replenishes your eyes naturally. If you are having trouble with blinking due to the dryness of your eyes, try using Homoeopathic CINELUBE EYEDROPS (HAPDCO) 3 times daily.
