Obviously it is the spicy diet stimulating the nerve and avoid spicy food . Peeing may be due to drinking more water and stoop 2 hours before sleep and anyway check your diabetic status also

Dear , first and foremost you must control diabetes strictly and secondly take antibiotic till urine examination shows less than 5 pus cells. Take antibiotics at least for 15 days and then check urine. Diabetes predispose you to infection.

Please check if you are having abdominal worms or not first. Secondly many a times the urine culture report is negative still the problem persists...this is due to the fact that the bacteria are high in the urinary passage. Moreover if you are Diabetic then you should always maintain hygiene and keep your blood sugar levels normal (by diet-restriction/medicines). Lifestyle changes matter because they can help you recover from a UTI and might prevent another infection: Quit smoking Wear loose cotton clothing and underwear Wipe yourself clean from front to back Choose only fragrance-free personal hygiene products Homeopathic medicines can help you -- do get back to me for treatment of the same.

Mr. Lybrate user, first it should be diagnosed whether its related to renal problem or anything else. So that the tt will be decided. If you r sure that it is purely related to renal system, then along with continuation of more intake of water& bland diet, more fluids, tender coconut water try to take **homeo medicine liquid -sabal ser mother tincture, which is avaialable in homeo stores.{prefer brand like schwabe or bioforce or sbl. 15 or 30 ml.]daily take 2-3 times 15-20 drops in 1/4th cup of water for 10days& see the improvement. Incase if the swelling is increased or any pain +, then, its good to see the specialist or general physician for personal checkup.

Overactive Bladder - Can Infection in Urinary Tract Lead To it?

Fellowship in Andrology, DNB-Urology , MS - General Surgery, MBBS
Urologist, Hyderabad
Overactive Bladder - Can Infection in Urinary Tract Lead To it?

An overactive bladder is marked by problems with one’s bladder storage system that results in sudden urge to urinate. Involuntary and leakage of urine is also a possibility in such a case.

The problem of an overactive bladder arises when the muscles of the bladder contract involuntarily. The conditions contributing to overactive bladder are:

  1. Excessive production of urine due to diabetes, poor kidney function or excessive fluid intake
  2. Medications that increase urine production by the bladder
  3. Acute infections in the urinary tract
  4. Abnormalities in the bladder, for instance, bladder stones or tumors
  5. Factors hindering bladder outflow such as constipation, enlarged prostate or earlier treatments for incontinence (loss of bladder control)
  6. Excessive intake of alcohol or caffeine
  7. Decline in one’s cognitive abilities due to factors such as ageing, thus making it hard for the bladder to comprehend the signals it gets from the brain
  8. Incomplete emptying of the bladder, leaving only a little storage space for the urine
  9. Constipation
  10. Neurological disorders

How it can be treated?

  1. Behavioral interventions help to manage overactive bladder effectively and without side-effects. They include-
    • Exercises to strengthen one’s urinary sphincter and pelvic floor muscles
    • Maintaining a healthy weight
    • Regulating fluid consumption
    • Planning a schedule for trips to the toilet
    • Employing a catheter to empty the bladder entirely
  2. Medications to alleviate the symptoms of incontinence and overactive bladder are-
    • Fesoterodine
    • Mirabegron
    • Darifenacin
    • Solifenacin
    • Trospium
    • Oxybutynin gel
    • Oxybutynin as a skin patch
    • Tolterodine
  3. Injecting small doses of Botox (Botulinum toxin), protein-bacteria, directly into the bladder tissues to partially paralyze the bladder muscles, thus delaying urination.
  4. Surgery to magnify bladder capacity

However, it is a must that you seek the guidance of a urologist on immediate basis.

In summers I suffer with Urine infection problem. Please tell some home remedy. Its painful to urinate.
Dear, to prevent yourself from urine infection or uti: * drink plenty of water in a day. Drink 8 to 9 glass of water. When you feel to urinate, go immediatly means avoid to wait for urinate. Because it causes increase in infection. * try to make proper hygiene to your genital area. Clean the area daily after urinate. * eat fruits like cucumber, watermelon, apple, banana daily.
