HI Dear, Knees bear most of our body weight, unfortunately, they are one of the most ignored body parts. The knee joints are the first to bear the brunt of your increasing weight and also the first joints to start giving up on you, giving rise to ailments like knee pain and inflammation of the joint, which when left untreated, can ruin your knees forever. Here are a few exercises you can do to strengthen your knees and avoid knee problems in future. 1. Leg extensions-Leg extensions are done with the help of a leg extension machine. Begin with using light weights and slowly increase the weights. Sit on the machine with your knees bent at a ninety-degree angle and feet under the pads (of the exercise machine) pointing towards the front. Make sure your knees are in a straight line with the toes and don’t cross the toe line. If knees are over the toe, you may hurt your knees. Sit straight with your spine erect and hold the side bars. Now slowly extend your legs as much as you can. Do not jerk your knee. Slowly lower the leg and come back to the original position. To intensify the workout, you can lift the weights by extending one leg at a time and hold the position for ten seconds and then lower the weight. 2. Standing Leg extensions–The best part about standing leg extensions is you don’t need a machine for this exercise. All you need is a resistance band and a hook to anchor it. Begin with anchoring the resistance band to a wall or a strong support that won’t budge. Attach the band to your ankle and stand away from the support so that the band doesn’t sag but is stretched. Stand with both your feet at the same distance from the support. Hold on to a chair for support if needed. Take your right leg behind to a point where the band just begins to stretch and slowly extend it. Make sure your leg is steady and toes point forward. You can hold the extended position for ten seconds to increase the tension. 3. Static Squat– Squats not only strengthen your knees but also work out your quadriceps. To do a static squat, you can take the support of a wall or any other fixed object. Hold the support with your hands fully extended in front of you and elbows straight. Now, slowly lower yourself as if your are sitting on a chair. Go down only till your knees are bent at a right angle, and do not go beyond that. Your back should be straight and not rounded, and the knees shouldn’t cross the toe line.

Probably you are suffering from rheaumatism. You need to consult rheumatologist and get relevant investigations done.

When fever is high then you may take 1 tab dolo, get the following tests done cbc, complete urine examination, platelet count test, mp slide, widal test, and come back with report so that i can help. Thankyou.

Do hot fomentation x twice daily. Postural correction- always sit with a small pillow at your low back. Sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises like bridging and bhujang asana x twice daily. Sleep on your back with a pillow under your knees. And get vit d levels checked.

What exactly is a spine block injection? Will it work long-term for low back pain due to disc problems?
Hello lybrate user, spine block injections are different types of injections which target the pain generating sites. The rationale is to inject an anesthetic agent (block the nerves which sense pain) into the structures which are generating pain. This can be used for diagnosis of or confirmation of a painful structure suspected to be the pain generator. This can also be used for treatment of painful structures, but the relief is mostly for a short term, 3 to 4 months usually. You might also require multiple injections for a longer duration of relief. Some surgeons use a steroid medication for injection as well. This is mainly to decrease the inflammatory component irritating the nerve roots. Steroid injections also give a temporary relief but can have a lasting effect if inflammatory component is the major culprit compared to a mechanical compression of the nerves. But, the decision making for use of injections is quite complex and I would suggest you to consult a spine surgeon experienced in injection techniques for a complete clinical assessment and the right injection for you. There are lot of reasons of these symptoms but no worry. Have proper meals & mild exercises in early morning, evenng. Take soft less oil foods, safe from rain drops, out side junk. Fast foods, fresh water & time meals.

Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day.

Kind of pain you are describing is usually seen in rotator cuff tear or tendinopathy. Take rest for few days. Apply ice pack 5 times daily for 10 minutes every time. You will need some medicines initially and exercises later on.

Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Back pain is quite common. Kindly rule out diabetes & vitamin d deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Proper physiotherapy will help. Medicines will also be needed. Antioxidants like caldikind plus (from mankind) 1 tab /day helps. Paracetamol 250mg bd/tds will also give you relief kindly make sure that you are not allergic to any of the ingredients of the brands you are going to take. Common.

Take medication with consultant Orthopaedicas, avoid rich protein diet like daal, Chana, non veg etc. then after 2-3 months again check. For pain do warm foamentation/ ice pack which suits.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. if its causing pain or locking in the knee then it may require arthroscopic debridement. otherwise avoid high impact activities.

Hi, if you had a sprain due to sudden twisting movement den take rest for a few days. Do warm up before doing any exercise den you won't get such pains. If it's more apply a pain balm. Have a good day.

Do take ift and laser therapy for 12 days followed by strengthening exercise from neuro physiotherapist and keep a thin support of cotton bedsheets beneath both the knee and avoid joining both knees together while sleep.

Towel Hamstring Stretch Lie on the back, supporting the thigh with the hand or with a towel wrapped around it.. Slowly straighten the knee until a stretch is felt in the back of the thigh, trying to get the bottom of the foot to face the ceiling, one leg at a time. Hold the position initially for 10 seconds, and gradually work up to 20 to 30 seconds. Seated Hamstring Stretch While sitting at the edge of a chair, straighten one leg in front of the body with the heel on the floor. Then, sit up straight and try pushing the navel towards the thigh without leaning the trunk of the body forwards. Hold this stretch for 30 seconds Repeat 3 times for each leg.

You need to avoid pillow at night. Must drink milk with 1 table spoon if turmeric in regular basis. You can use homoeopathic medicine calc. Carb 6x 4 tab in morning and at night. With slight wam 1\4th of water.
