I have a habit of cracking my teeth (like continuously chewing motions) when I'm asleep, I was unaware of it until recently when it was pointed out to me. I worry that in the long term, this could affect my teeth and cause them to flatten, and already I can see that my canines have flattened considerably. I am unsure whether to consult a dentist or a sleep clinic in this regard, please advise a course of action.

Kindly see a dentist at the earliest. He will first make a bite-guard after which he/she will assess the cause for grinding and help you correct the same. Some common causes of grinding - stress, improper fillings/crowns with high-points (bite not set properly) etc.

Your teeth are sensitive to hot and cold and probably caries, you can use colgate pro sensitive tooth paste and get the broken tooth repaired by visiting a dental clinic and consult dental surgeon.

Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months. Changing the toothbrush alone donot keeps your teeth clean. All toothpaste have nearly similar ingredients like Abrasives, Fluorides, Surfactants, Antibacterial agents, Flavourants, Remineralizers, Fluoride, Diethylene glycol, Triclosan etc. Only the wrong brushing technique that we follow harms our teeth and gums. So consult your dentist, learn proper brushing technique, Brush your teeth twice a day, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush to protect your teeth and gums from plaque and calculus. Floss your teeth inter dentally once a day. Consume a healthy diet rich in vegetables and lean protein. Reduce your intake of sugary foods and beverages. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Drink plenty of fluoridated tap water. Drink not consume alcohol drinks. Don’t smoke.

When I drink cold water after that my all teeth feeling hard sense and I can't eat any food for 1 hrs please help me.
You have sensitivity in teeth. Start using any desensitizing paste for brushing twice daily. Apply the paste on your teeth with finger and leave it for 2 minutes. Than brush normally with ultra soft bristle brush.

My name is Arshad. My question is to a Dentist. I have done my root canal treatment for 2 of my teeth. I haven't put the cap for it. It's been more than 3 years . Is it possible to get it done now? Or is there a problem with that?

MDS Prosthodontics, BDS, Medicine
Dentist, Mohali
Well Arshad you should immediately visit your dentist and get a crown(cap) fabricated. Your RC treated tooth is brittle, it has less strength now so if you bite something hard, the tooth can break. You probably lucky to have your RC treated tooth intact now. Dont delay the treatment.
