Hey my mother have got mouth infection. Redness n small pimple on tongue. Since 3 months. please help me.
This condition is called mouth ulcer or apthae. Apthae can be there due to several reasons, like indigestion, constipation, deficiency of vitamin b12. Generally, this can be cured, just by few managing steps, like taking easily digestive food, take food, eat at least one papaya daily, avoid spicy, fatty, oily food, and taking b-complex capsules. If then also this doesn't cure in 10 days please consult.

Why use Sealants?

MDS, BDS
Dentist, Gurgaon
Why use Sealants?

Dental sealants are barriers that can protect one's teeth from developing cavities. Made out of plastic material, there are usually applied to the molars and premolars at the back of the mouth.

How are dental sealants applied?

  • The teeth on which the sealant is to be applied is cleaned properly and then dried. A solution containing acid is applied on the teeth to make the surface rough, as this helps the sealant bond well with the teeth.
  • Then the teeth are rinsed, following which they are dried. Finally, the sealant is applied. At times, a special light is used to make the sealant dry easily.

Reasons to use dental sealants:

  • The chewing surfaces of the teeth are aided by dental sealants. Sealants are thin coatings that are painted on those areas.
  • One main reason for using sealants would be that even though brushing and flossing can remove the food particles stuck in the grooves of the teeth, at times some particles may be left behind. Sealants can prevent this.
  • The sealant spreads over the enamel in the grooves of the teeth, acting as a shield. This prevents food particles from getting stuck in the pits and fissures of the teeth. When such food particles are stuck in the grooves of the teeth, cavities are likely to form. Applying sealants can prevent this.
  • Children, who are at a greater risk of developing cavities, are often advised to use dental sealants to prevent their teeth from decay and damage.
  • Adults whose teeth have suffered considerable decay may seek the help of sealants to protect them.
  • Adults who have had fillings done in their teeth cavities may also apply sealants in order to prevent any further damage in the near or distant future.

Mere danto se khoon aata hai jab subha mai uthta hu tab ye daily hota hai. Kya kare koi advice dijiye.
Dear lybrate-user, the bleeding gums are due to accumulation of food debris, which is a result of inadequate maintenance of oral hygiene. I suggest that you get thorough professional cleaning/scaling done from a dentist, and use antibacterial mouthwashes thereafter. Following all these measures will solve your problem. Hope that helps.

In my mouth there is a knot becoz of upper teeth and lower teeth and also there are pimple on back.
We need more investigations (full mouth x-ray) & clinical examination to decide upon treatment. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

Hello. I am currently undergoing tooth treatment, as I had one root canal and multiple cavities to be removed. I am almost done with the treatment. However, I get very very bad pain in both side lower teeth either during late night or very early morning. This happens even when I slp in noon and get up in evening. The pain at times is unbearable but lasts only for few mins. I did asked the dentist about the same, however he said this is called sensitivity and he will suggest a toothpaste for the same. I am really worried bcz pain at tyms is unbearable. Kindly suggest if there might be other reasons for it. And what can be possible causes of pain at such odd times a and what can be measures to overcome that. Thanks in advance.

once a tooth is root canal treated than you will not have any sensation to the tooth no hot or cold coz the nerve of the tooth is amutated in this procedure. The pain in the tooth occur for 3 days post treatment but I think your rct is not done properly why don't you cross examine your treatment by other dentist if your pain is related to the treated tooth. If your pain is in nontreated tooth than that tooth also require rct as you have mentioned you have many cavity teeth.
