I have something wrong in tongue from inside and I have indigestion problem I am alwAys feel sick and sleepiness.

MDS
Dentist, Kolkata
Hello lybrate-user, if you are feeling sick and sleepy for a long time you should get your blood sugar level checked both fasting and post prandial (after meal). Juvenile diabetes is very common at your age. You can also check HbAc (glycated hamoglobin level) which determines since when is your blood glucoae level altered. About your tongue, it can be fungal infection (which are common in diabetic individual) and can be easily treated by few antifungal medication. As far as indigestion is concerned change your lifestyle have food on time, avoid junk foods. Avoid long gaps between the meals. Hope this is helpful.

There are white patches on my tongue. I am 21 years old and these patches are there from last 5 years. It used to hurt when I observed this but after that there was no pain. Now i feel my tongue as normal but these patches are still present. Is this something serious ?

B.D.S
Dentist, Jaipur
Yeah it is serious. It can be due to any drug reaction or it can be pathological but one can give diagnosis only after observation and some test. What you can do is to avoid alcohol, tobacco , spicy food and keep ur gut healthy. So better visit a dentist. Thank you

Always brush two time daily after this also my mouth has bad breath like rotten things.I don't have drinking and smoking habit. What should I do?

MDS(Prosthodontist), BDS

You should drink plenty of water avoid processed food as starchy and sugary food attract more bacteria to be deposited on your tooth surface and eat raw vegetables and consult dentist as you may require routiene cleaning and polishing of your teeth.

kindly get scaling done and use mouth wash twice daily for 15 days. brush your teeth twice daily using correct brushing technique to maintain your oral hygiene. also notice that you are not constipated most of the times as this is also one of the reasons for bad breath.

Even when one brushes the teeth twice a day and rinses the mouth after every food, whats the reason for cavity?

BDS
Dentist, Patiala
Sir, its necessary that when you brush your teeth food debris get removed. There is no fun of brushing if debris are still there. So important is right techniques as wrong method to brush your may also lead to teeth damage.

Dear Doctor, My mother, aged 50 years is experiencing tooth ache sporadically. Up on consultation, we realized that the lower wisdom tooth grew inclined and impacting the adjacent tooth. It even started causing infection a little in the gums surrounding that tooth. Do you recommend tooth extraction surgery? If yes, will there be any complications post surgery?(she is diagnosed with diabetes a few weeks ago) Where to get the surgery done and what prerequisite care need to be taken to ensure no complications afterwards.

BDS
Dentist, Gurgaon
Dear lybrate-user, if the impacted tooth has affected the adjacent teeth and gums, its essential to get rid of it to avoid long term infections to which diabetics are already prone. So go ahead with the treatment. A good oral surgeon would handle the case gently and there won't be any dire complications except for some moderate swelling due to anesthesia and some post-op pain for which you would be prescribed pain killers and antibiotics. Because she is not a diabetic since a very long time so it won't be a problem. Take your medications properly, follow the dentist's instructions and get it extracted.

Tooth ache may be due to infection, tooth decay, gum problem etc. Anything stuck in the teeth may also cause the problem. Homoeopathy has a good treatment for this without adverse effects. Take merc sol 30 twice daily in the morning and evening.

Food or drinks which contain acid often soften the tooth material causing the dissolution of minerals into the tooth enamel resulting in the birth of cavities (holes).

I brush my teeth twice a day but even after that it's becoming yellowish and seems as if they are not being cleaned. Please suggest me a remedy or how to clean.

BDS
Dentist, Ajmer
Just a reminder, adult teeth are not milky white, they have a slight yellowish tinge. Your teeth might be becoming yellow due to stain deposition on the teeth surface, they are not removed by brushing. Go for professional cleaning of teeth which will remove stains and calculus present on the teeth. If you are not satisfied with the results, go for bleaching.
