Tooth feeling close the teeth from outside but does not cure the infection inside. So better take Homoeopathic treatment. You can contact me through Lybrate. Till. Then take Heclalava 30 one dose.

You have not mentioned that your teeth are broken or completely missing. Get your teeth x-rayed. If the teeth are broken, you can go for rct followed by ceramic caps. If the are missing, go for bridge.

My father-in-law is around 70 years old. He has generalized chronic periodontitis since around last 10 years. He complaints of severe pain in max right 3rd molar after accidental contact with mandibular teeth. Tooth has grade 1 mobility. Adjacent tooth is grossly decayed and has only a portion of cusp remaining. I haven't examined his mouth. He cannot undergo extraction due to his medical condition. He's on anticoagulants after angioplasty since last five years. The pain is sharp shooting in nature and lingers on several hours after onset. Please suggest me what would be best for him at the moment. I am a final year student of dentistry.

If his INR, PTTK, PT is within normal range, he can be taken up for immediate extraction of offending tooth. Otherwise stop anticoagulants in consultation with treating cardiologist, and extract his tooth after 48-72 hours. For immediate pain relief he can use paracetamol tablet, get his tooth out of occlusion. Get his bad teeth extracted as and when his medical condition permits.

Why do the doctors ask whether the patient has artificial tooth, while admitting him. Is there any connection between dental disease and heart problems.

Why do the doctors ask whether the patient has artificial tooth, while admitting him. Is there any connection between...
Dear Lybrate user, the doctors usually ask for artificial teeth while admitting patients in the hospital with regards to removable partial or complete dentures. Any patient who requires oxygen mask or tubings through the mouth or neck area for breathing or nutrition or a patient who is unconscious has to get the denture plates removed because it involves the risk of aspiration/accidental swallowing. The link between poor oral hygiene and heart disease is limited to the fact that a person with poor oral health and bacteria in his mouth stands a risk of transfer of these bacteria to the heart via the blood stream. Otherwise, dentures, crowns/caps, bridges, fillings, implants etc do not have any role in causing heart problems.

Dear, periodontal problems if not treated completely they have tendencies to come back again and again. If you have any xrays or any past treatment reports with you I can guide you better.

Hello sir, I am having mouth ulcers on cheeks and tongue, what is cause for it? Please tell me.

BDS
Dentist, Kolar
Ulcers generally take 1-2 weeks to heal completely. Recurrent ulcers can be due to local mouth conditions such as rough teeth surface or rough mouth appliances or dentures n cheek bites. It can also b due to general nutrtional deficiency, digestion prob, work pressure n stressful lifestyle etc. Certain bacterial n viral infections also cause ulcers. Treatment: start on multivitamin tabs which includes vit c n iron supplements if your hb% levels r low. Apply dologel oral ointment on ulcers thrice daily. Avoid spicy n oily food, alcohol, tea n coffee. Drink plenty of water n hv fibrous n citrous foods.
