I got hurt in my left hand wrist which led a minor fracture in the same. I had got a consult and had the fracture band for a month but after that the left hand used to work inefficiently as it did before and has a minor pain if heavy work is done although its past 3 year.

I am 55 years old & suffering from shoulder pain since 6 months. I am unable to raise hands straight. Please advice me what exercise I should follow to resolve the issue ?

Shoulder exercises are essential for you but you need to rule out first why the pain is occurring. Is there any pain in while you are pulling off your parse from your hip pocket? Is the pain is more in the initial range of movement? Is there any pain while sleeping? Can you sleep turning towards the affected side? Please let us know for better guidance.

Do neck exercise regularly. Apply ultra sound therapy to the region. Do static and dynamic neck exercise regularly. Use cervical coller for proper support.

For the time being pl take hot water bath, hit water drink, massage with Ayurveda oil like Mahanarayan tail, followed by hot fomentation, drinking Turmeric in hot milk should be done primarily. Yoga Postures, stretching, clean gut should be maintained. If it doesn't go in a week, medicines may be advised.

Ok avoid toward bending and do spine extension exercise and if your back stiff then tk swd ultrasonic therapy and tens therapy for flexibility and mobility of spine.

Hello lybrate user, arthritis is a degenerative condition which progresses with aging. It goes through different stages like mild, moderate and severe arthritis. You might be suffering from arthritis at the age of 49 because of some pre-disposing condition but it usually presents in patients greater than 55 to 60 years. You have mentioned that you have bearable pain while walking. You might be in the early stages of arthritis. This can be managed by lifestyle modifications like light exercises, weight reduction, physiotherapy for the muscles of knee to maintain the mobility and strengthen the muscles. This might decrease your pain as well. If you have persistent pain, it might respond to painkillers. Surgery is advisable to only those who have unbearable pain and who are unable to do their daily routine activities because of the advanced arthritis. The other disadvantage of surgery at an early age is the limited life span of the prosthetic knee joint. Even in ideal cases has a life span of 15 to 20 years, after which you might need to undergo revision surgeries which are complex and are associated with a high rate of complications. So considering an average of 12 years of implant survival, by the age of 70 to 75 you might need a second revision surgery. Therefore, it is best to delay surgery as much as possible unless you have complications like decreasing movement at the knee joint or development of a severe deformity because of a severe grade of arthritis or unbearable pain not responding even to the highest doses of medications. Dear , back pain is not normal at your age. It's commonly due to disc prolapse, infection of the spine or weakness of the bone. Show to an orthopaedician and get yourself investigated. Get well soon.

Quadriceps strengthening exercises- Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Flat foot at times causes pain. But we must rule out other causes as well rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Physiotherapy usually helps any way take paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. It may have to be further investigated do reply back for private consultation and detailed treatment plan. Don? t ignore. You must have x rays of your feet done. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take.

Requires detailed examination and investigation. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5 days, inform

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

Kindly show me digital x rays of cervical spine & photograph of your neck. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days bio d3 max 1tab od x10 do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do reply back for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.
