The type of treatment you have for cavity in tooth will depend on the cause of the decay, so your dentist will examine your mouth and may carry out an X-ray to try to identify the problem. • If your cavity is caused by tooth decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. • If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection.

We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with surgical, gum strengthening procedure. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meals. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

Munching foods like apples, pears, carrots or celery after brushing can help in preventing discoloration as they trigger tooth-bathing saliva which helps in keeping the teeth whiter.

Hi, there are various reasons for bleeding gums like poor oral hygiene, vitamin deficiency, physical injury to gums, hormonal changes, medications etc. You have to visit dentist for professional cleaning and check-up to know the exact cause and solution of your problem. Regards

After eaten in my teeth being pain so what can I do.
Pain in your teeth probably can be due to either caries or due to food lodgement in your gums. Brush your teeth after every meal and visit your dentist to restore the cause.

I have this mouth ulcers problem every month I suffer with dat problem can you please suggest me how can I avoid getting them?

MD - Medicine, Diploma in Diabetology, MBBS
General Physician, Malda
Unfortunately there is still no clear cut reason established for recurrent mouth ulcers. It can be due to nutrition deficiency, poor oral hygiene, bad dental condition, hormonal or genetic. All you need to do is to maintain proper oral hygiene and take nutritious foos with antioxidant property like fruits and green leafy vegetables. You can use ointment kenacort for relief during ulcer eruption.

Can dental problems cause pain in temples? I have somewhat sharp ache in my right temple a little above temple exactly a few inches above my ear and I am having some dental problems for some time like cavities feelings some sensitivity and sometimes throbbing pain too. So can they be related. Dental problems and temple pain in any way?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
A major cause of tooth sensitivity is root exposure. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need cleaning along with desensitizing procedures and / or artificial enamel filling or root canal treatment. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. Until then apply a desensitizing paste (sensodyne tooth paste) on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min until you brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight will be better.
