Why?
It needs to be investigated. Investigations advised - hb, tlc, dlc, esr, sugar f & pp, uric acid, vit d3 urine r/e x ray of the affected part. Anyway you may try- sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

My son has injured his right middle finger and broken the tendon. What is to be done? what' s the best action to be taken ?

Tendon needs to be repaired and also get x ray of the finger to see if the bone is ok. Don' t delay the procedure too long as the tendon is like a rubber band and tends to shorten with time.

I have done my ACL surgery for left leg 2 weeks back. Now doing exercises with the help of physiotherapist. But sometimes I feel heavy pain near knee and below knee also. And I can't sleep with this pain. Please help me.

Do not worry! pain post surgery is common. Maintain the range of motion and strengthen the muscles around joint. Icing under compression is very much important atleast 4 times a day for 20 mins each.

Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Do learn spinal extension exercise from neuro physiotherapist apply hot and cold water fomentation for thrice a day for 12 days followed by strengthening exercise from neuro physiotherapist best wishes.

I am a man with 41 years. Have knee pain from last two years. Test for B12 before two years & found 123. Take eldervit injection as advised by doctor & also take Vitamin d tablet course. But still no improvement. Now Slowly pain started in back & neck also. Please. Advise.

Check your serum calcium levels and get a whole body bone densitometry test done to rule out oesteporosis. Repeat your b12 and vit d tests also. With the reports, consult me privately. For the time being, take tab rumalaya forte 1-1-1 and apply mahanarayana taila to the affected part and give hot water fomentation. Perform neck exercises everyday in the morning and evening.

Warm mustard oil or sesame oil (1 teaspoon) with 3-4 cloves of crushed garlic and 1 tsp of ajwain (carom) seeds until it roasts to a reddish brown colour. Ensure that it does not get burned. Massage this oil on your affected areas. After that do hot fomentation with salt potli (bag).
