Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Hello it seems due to weight you have problem in waist. N little ppbs is high. Usually reduce some weight and ppbs with the diet. Will automatically reduce pain. Advice 1) do not take milk n it's products for 1 months 2) take warm water daily 5-6glass 3) take drum stick in your food daily. 4) don't take spicy, sour, salty, fermented food, cold food, cold water in routine ask for medication in private chat. I am experiencing a sensation like something is crawling up my right thigh for the past week. It occurs when I am standing and looking ahead or when reclining in a chair or lying down. However the sensation disappears when I bend forward when sitting or standing. I have cervical spondylosis but mild condition.

This sensation is due to the compression of the nerves caused by your spondylosis. A remedy would be to start back/core strengthening exercises as suggested by a good physiotherapist, take liberal amounts of vit. D and calcium through milk and eggs, non veg food if possible. We would need an xray of both the cervical and lumbar spine +/- mri of the spine to confirm the condition and suggest an appropriate cure to your condition. Hope this helps.

Start with physiotherapy treatment and learn exercise. Correct your posture. Take calcium; multivitamin and vitamin d 3 for 2 month. Don't sit on floor. Don't lift heavy things. Get your full body blood test also.

I am having pain in my wrist of both the hands as I fall down before 4-5 days and I applied some ointment like moov and all BT I didn't find much progress with this what should I do? As it hasn't swelled yet so I don't think its a fracture or something like that.

Common causes of back pain are prolonged sitting, especially in bad posture, injury to back during certain activities and lack of regular exercise. You should try some physiotherapy and learn about proper posture. Control weight and do some back strengthening exercises. Medicines are for temporary relief only. If pain persists then you need to visit a spine surgeon for complete clinical evaluation.

Deficiency of vitamin D is usually due to insufficient nutrition or poor exposure to sunlight. With supplements it would improve. An x-ray of knee should also be taken to see whether there is flaring of bone margins if deficiency is since long. Its curable with timely medications. Give her fortified foodstuffs rich in vitamin D.usually milk and milk products provide it and exposure to sun for hour daily.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana. Core strengthening exercises. Back stretching. Do the cat/cow stretch.

Hi, I am a hypo thyroid patient. Struggling to lose weight from quite sometime, not getting results. I can not do heavy workouts or aerobics bcz of knee ligament injury in last year. Acupressure can prove to be extremely effective if you are looking for non-medicinal solutions to treat musculoskeletal problems, such as back pain, sports injuries, arthritis, etc. Acupressure is the application of putting firm pressure on the areas on the body which are swollen, agitated or tense by massaging the acupoints (specific points in the body). Acupressure believes that relieving these areas of pressure reduces the pain.

Here are some musculoskeletal problems that can be healed by acupressure:

  1. Arthritis: Those who seek acupressure as an alternative treatment for pain are mostly suffering from arthritis (a disease characterised by chronic joint inflammation and cartilage degeneration). Acupressure applies pressure on the inflamed joints.
  2. Back pain: Back pain is a common problem that can affect anyone irrespective of his or her age. Acupressure acts to relieve the points where the muscles are too tense and helps to tone or support the muscles which have become weak with disuse.
  3. Chronic pain: Unrelenting pain can stem from many causes. Acupressure focuses on the pain and the pain signals when treating chronic pain. The acupoint of the pain and the nerves are gently massaged to relieve the pain.
  4. Fibromyalgia: Traumatic injury to the soft tissue, emotional trauma or severe illness can cause fibromyalgia. It is non-inflammatory in nature and often leads to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (a troublesome disorder with symptoms of deep fatigue, sleeping problems, pain, etc.). Acupressure can greatly improve the fatigue and sleeplessness that fibromyalgia causes.
  5. Tendonitis: The tendon connects the tissue to the bone, and tendonitis is the condition when the tendon is inflamed. Acupressure helps in reducing the inflammation and easing mobility restrictions.
  6. Sciatica: The sciatic nerve is the longest nerve in the body, stretching from the lower spine to the back of the foot. So when this nerve is agitated, pain radiates from the lower back to the foot. This condition is called sciatica. The acupoints in sciatica are the lower back and the hip. Acupressure effectively loosens the muscles in these regions and reduces inflammation.
  7. Sports injuries: Strains and sprains are common sports injuries, which mostly affect athletes. Acupressure has anti-inflammatory benefits that can help heal severely injured tendons, ligaments or muscle. Acupressure also plays a huge role in restoring and retraining the body, especially if you are an athlete and play high-demand sports.
  8. Carpel Tunnel Syndrome: Carpal tunnel syndrome is a condition in which the pressure increases on the median nerve as it goes through the carpal tunnel, and this causes wrist pain. Acupressure involves the use of directed pressure to specific acupuncture points on the surface of the body.
  9. Insomnia: Insomnia is a sleep disorder. The Acupressure Points between your heel and anklebones (on both sides) have traditionally been used to relieve and prevent insomnia.
  10. Migraines: Acupuncture is used to effectively treat primary headaches, namely tension and migraine, which are the most common.

well lower back is most of the time associated with Si joint strain ...IN THIS CASE first u should aim for oain releif with muscle realaxant and physiotherapy and then a good stretching and strengthening program is required for your lower back .

I am 57 years old. I have been playing badminton for more than 28 years. Now a days there is severe pain in my knees - especially left knee while walking or seating. Is there any way by which the pain can be reduced without stopping badminton. A orthopedic doctor has advised to stop game which I don't want. Please suggest any remedy. Thank you.

This could be due to oa knee &/or obesity. Physiotherapy along with medicines will help. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with a soft bedding on it. Any way take bio d3 max 1tab odx10days ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days do knee exercises. It may have to be further investigated make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take.

Stiffness & pain in back & other joints is quite a common condition. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. Take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Do back (spine) exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do ask for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Hello lybrate-user, back pain occur due to many reason: 1: muscle spasm 2: disc problem 3: stiff back 4: postural fault 5: traumatic history so it will be better if you send me your detail such as your symptoms either it is localised or radiate till your leg. Back strengthening exercise plays important role in releiving pain. Core muscle strengthening plays important role in releiving pain. So consult a physio and learn some strengthening exercise and start doing it guided by them.
