Weight gain can be a time-consuming process. But you have to be patient and practice it correctly, do not take any medication for weight gain. You should take every 2 hourly meal and fix your meal timing and include good amount of nuts and High Proteins Like Eggs, lean meat, fish, skinless chicken, pulses, sprouts, and dairy products that rich sources of proteins. Please take fruit shakes (Like banana, mango) + 5-6 almonds and 1-2 walnuts.

Stop sleeping in thick spongy sagging coir foam mattresses. Use thin ( about 2 inch thick ) cotton mattresses on a hard flat bed for sleeping. Do not bend forwards as if to lift something from the ground. Bend your back backwards regularly. Do not lift heavy objects. If pain is severe and there is numbnes in the limb then radioligical exam of lumbo sacral spine is needed to assess disc lesions. A prescription may be required for addressing severity of pain.

It is an episodic chronic respiratory disorder in which there is airflow obstruction causing difficulty in breathing.


CAUSES:

• Hereditary.
• History of allergy – skin allergy, asthmatic etc.
• Mostly inhaled allergens cause asthma.


ALLERGENS CAN BE:

– Environment - smoke, dust & pollution and petrol fumes.
– Pollen and molds from grass, flowers and trees.
– Strong perfumes
– Paints & varnishes
– Tobacco smoke
– Animal dander
– House dust mite
– Chemical fumes


FOOD, WHICH CAN CAUSE ALLERGY ARE:

– Sour food
– Citrus fruits

• Infection of lungs, bacterial or viral.

SIGN AND SYMPTOMS:

DIETARY MANAGEMENT:

• Try to recognize and avoid the factors that trigger the asthmatic attacks.
• Keep a diary and try to trace a pattern or relation between your allergic reaction and the allergen.
• Families with history of allergy should avoid artificial food, eggs, cocoa, juices and wheat preparation to infants till the age of six months. Only breast feed infants for the first six months to strengthen the immune system.
• For infants born in vegetarian family, vegetarian food is preferred.
• Avoid food and drinks known to cause allergy - cow milk, vinegar, lemon juice, grapes, instant tea, corn syrup, fruit toppings, cold food and drinks, canned food, food additives, beer and wine.
• Eat balanced nutritious diet.
• Eat fresh unprocessed food.
• Consume Bitter gourd (Karela) cooked or juice, it strengthens the immunity.
• Every morning, drink boiled mixture of – ½ cup water, little ginger, 2-3 leaves of sweet basil (tulsi) and mint leaves, or you can eat the raw leaves, this will boost up you immunity.
• Boil a mixture of Bishops weed (Ajwain), tea leaves and water and inhale the steam, helps to decongest.
• Consume garlic and onions, will be beneficial, but avoid them if you are on homeopathic medicine.
• Consume lots of Vitamin B complex.
– Liver, kidney, pancreas, yeast (Brewer's yeast), lean meat especially pork, fish, dairy products, poultry, egg, shrimps, crabs and lobsters,.
– Milk and milk products, green leafy vegetables, legumes, nuts, whole grain cereals.
– Carrots, bananas, avocado, raspberries, artichoke, cauliflower, soy flour, barley, cereals, pasta, whole grains, wheat barn like rice and wheat germ, dried beans, peas and soybeans.
• Increase intake of magnesium in your diet.
– Sea food, nuts, green leafy vegetables.
– Peas, lotus stem, pulses, whole grains, fruits.


NOTE:

• Avoid smoke, pollution, and dust as far as possible.
• Try to reduce stress, anxiety and tension, practice yoga will help to relax and relive stress.
• Yoga will also help by breathing exercise. Breathing exercise will help better utilization of available lung space.
Avoid inhaler ,bronchodilator in case of young age .childhood.why are you damage your lungs,its not benefits for long duration.

Mr. Lybrate-user, if one has diabetes mellitus, then regular blood sugar check up is necessary. One can do this test at home with a glucometer. Frequency depends on severity and type of treatment. Because if a patient is on insulin then very frequent testing is needed. Otherwise initially once a week, later at once in 15 days or so. Secondly once in 3 to 6 months hba1c% should be checked. Also periodically lipids (cholesterol) also should be checked. Also once a year get the eyes checked for any retinal involvement, this is a very necessary test.

Hello, sinusitis is a common affliction these days occuring as a result of either a structural deformity in your nose cavity or complication of diseases like common cold. The problem you are facing can be solved adequately by a proper course of antibiotic, nasal decongestants and steam inhalation. However if the symptoms persist, or if you problem is because of some structural deformity such as a nasal polyp, surgery maybe necessary. In case of repeated attacks of sinusitis, please consult a qualified ent specialist to seek out the cause. For this, a nasal endoscopy may be necessary. Please go prepared for that. Thank you.

Hello, the medicine is effective only if taken within prescribed time and correctly. She should have bleeding after a week. The side effects of the drug are not much.

I am male 48 years old diabetic from past 13 years. I have control on it and it never goes beyond 200. From past one year I am suffering from skin infection (in the foot) in both legs - between toes (small toe). I have been advised by my doctor to use canesten dermatological powder in the morning + candid clotrimazole drops in the night. But the infection is reoccurring i. e, I am not getting rid of it. Kindly suggest how to come out of this problem. I am afraid that I may lose the toe because of this problem if it is not getting cured. Please help.

You have tinea pedis a fungal infection, the treatment suggested is correct, in addition you need to take certain precautions like keeping web space between your toes dry after every time you wash the feet, if shoes are being used, then wear only cotton socks and change the same every day. Use the powder between the web spaces before putting the socks. Also take fluconazole 150 mg tablets once a week for 8 - 10 weeks (tab gocan 150). At home keep the feet and web spaces as dry as possible. Follow this meticulously.

I'm unable to sleep deeply since a week. It's like I take naps in the nights. I was tensed for my studies because of the lengthy course when my exam dates weren't published. But now as they are declared, I feel relaxed but still can't sleep. I don't know the reason. My doctor advised me to meet a psychologist, who has given me some medicines and now I am able to sleep properly as well. My query is that will I get habitual to these medicines and depend upon them throughout my life? Or is it okay to take them? Also suggest me what should I do to sleep properly as when I don't, my head start aching badly as I have migraine too. Dear Aayushi. Your present problem is stress related. Please understand stress. Stress is simply a reaction to a stimulus that disturbs our physical or mental equilibrium. Stress disorder is usually treated with a combination of psychiatric medicines, psychotherapy, life style changes, meditation and exercise. Once you make the necessary amendments in your life with the help of the above said therapies and life style changes, learn how to manage the depressive episodes without medicines and learn to relax, the medicines can be weaned off over a period of one year. Hi lybrate-user, Will suggest some home remedies to improve all 3 symptoms here: For Cough: 1. Ginger: Ginger is well know know remedy for cough. Ginger relieves from congestion and garlic is known for antibacterial properties. Slice the ginger and garlic and boil it in water for 20 minutes. Pour it in cup, add honey and sip it. 2. Black pepper and honey for itchy and sour throat - Black pepper and honey mixtured is best for itchy thorats. If you are suffering from persistant dry cough then cush some black peper and mix it honey and whenever you feel cough eat one tea spoon of mixture. With cosistent use, cough will be gone. 3. Alovera: Alovera juice is good for passageways. It comforts the breathing. If you are suggering form dry cough then extract fresh alovera juice (half cup) and boil it for 3 minutes. Mix some honey and drops of lemon in it and take in it. For Pimples: 1. Baking Soda: Apply a paste of one or two teaspoons of baking soda and a little water. Rinse it off after a few minutes. You can also mix together two tablespoons baking soda, one teaspoon cinnamon powder, the juice of half a lemon, and five tablespoons honey. Apply it on your face and wash after five minutes. Use baking soda on your skin once or twice a week. 2. Oatmeal: Mix one teaspoon of honey and the juice of half a lemon in a cup of cooked oatmeal. Rub this mixture over your skin. Leave it on for 30 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water. Do this once or twice a week. 3. Lemon Juice: Rub a slice of lemon on the affected area and leave it for a few hours before rinsing your face with water. You can also mix lemon juice with rose water in equal amounts and use the solution to wash the affected area thoroughly. For weakness: 1. Add one teaspoon of honey into a cup of milk and drink. This will greatly help you get relief from weakness. 2. Eating three to four ripe bananas after meal will provide you with a good amount of energy. 3. Boil a cup of milk mixed with two or three figs. Now, eat those figs and drink that milk. By doing so, you will not only improve your energy level but it will also increase the amount of blood in your body. 4. Mix equal quantities of sugar & sonamukhi powder (an Indian herb) and have it in every morning and every night before going to sleep. Hope this helps. Good luck.
