I am 27 years old male, my tooth are not well arranged, I dont want to get my canines removed for better arrangement. Can we some how reduce the size of teeth to reduce their size and arrange them better?

BDS
Dentist, Jabalpur
Canines are never removed for rearranging teeth, premolars do! that too not in all cases see first of all I would like to assure you that removing four premolars and aligning and rearrangement of remaining teeth is totally scientific procedure but still if you do not what them to be removed consult me with following xrays of yours opg and lateral cephalogram.

If you need correction of chin, that would be done by plastic surgeon. You can contact me or can consult online. Teeth treatment is done by dentist.

Hi I have bad breath and bleeding problem from 1 and half year i also meet dentist but the problem should be there

BDS
Dentist, Asansol
Bad break and gum bleeding. All are symptoms of gum inflammation which usually starts because of plaque and calculus .Visit dentist and go for scaling ( teeth cleaning ) of your teeth. Once scaling is complicated .Maintain your oral hygiene by brushing your teeth twice daily. Flossing of teeth. And visit your dentist after every six month.

Hi, a poor diet can lead to gum disease and tooth decay. Foods high in carbohydrates, sugars and starches greatly contribute to the production of plaque acids that attack the tooth enamel. Eventually these acids can cause tooth enamel to break down, forming a cavity. Foods high in sugar are a particularly common cause of tooth decay. Making these foods a treat rather than a staple will help protect your teeth. To maintain a balanced diet, eat a variety of foods from each of the five major food groups. When choosing a snack, go for nutritious foods such as cheese, raw vegetables, plain yogurt or a piece of fruit. Diet: consume cheese, curd, yoghurt, green leafy vegetables, carrots, apples, almonds. Acidic foods, such as citrus fruits, tomatoes, and lemons, should be eaten as part of a larger meal to minimize the acid from them which erodes the tooth enamel. The best beverage choices include water (especially fluoridated water), milk, and unsweetened tea. Chewing sugarless gum is actually beneficial to your teeth as chewing helps dislodge food that becomes stuck to your teeth. Teeth-care: these are some basic tips for caring for teeth and gums: brush your teeth regularly. Brush at least twice a day and preferably 30-60 minutes after every meal and snack. Use a fluoride-containing toothpaste. Floss at least once a day. Use a mouth rinse daily. Visit your dentist regularly for check-ups and cleanings -- typically twice a year. Eat a variety of foods to maintain overall health. You can use homoeopathic toothpaste by sbl- homeodent.

Yesterday i visited my dentist as i was having sensivity in my tooth. So he told me that my jaw is such that they are decayiing my teeth ( means teeth aapas mein ragad kar ghis rahe rai) 30% od them are decayed. He said that there is nothing which we can do. Is there any solution?

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
If you have either malocclusion or occlusal discrepancy nothing can be done except by restoring your decayed teeth? Again if you however have a TMD disorder you may be able to treat it with some prosthesis or splints.

Gum swelling can be due to dirty teeth, hormonal changes, eruption of new teeth etc. For that you need to consult dentist and take treatment according to your need. If swallowing is difficult then it can be due to tonsillitis also. Hope you get well soon.

Is root canal better option for 4 year kid, whose one front left side tooth damaged by cavity? Will it affect new tooth coming in next 2-3 year on that area?

Now a days it is becoming a common practise to perform RCT in small children if the tooth is infected as this can infect other teeth also if not treated.Your Dentist is the better judge to decide this as a physical examination is required to have an ascess to the situation although RCT will not have an impact on eruption of new teeth.

I think you should get a filling done and save the teeth. As early removal of primary or milk teeth may cause improper alignment of permanent teeth.

Many with braces face prob of dental ulcers. To avoid ulcers request your dentist fr some clear wax which has to b stuck on the brackets. This prevents rubbing of sharp edges of brackets against your oral skin. Apply dentogel oral ointment twice to thrive daily on ulcers. Gargle using betadine mouth wash twice daily. Avoid spicy food, tea, coffee, aereated drinks. Rinse your mouth well after each meal n maintain hygiene. Ulcers generally take arround 10-14 days to heal.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist,
Hi doctor, my teeth is yellow and getting pain every night please help me.
Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with whitening (bleaching) procedures and / or artificial enamel filling or root canal treatment. Advance procedures can be done with laser. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

Ulcer might be due to various causes. Once you find out the cause the treatment is done perfectly. Get a consultation from the dentist of your choice and be free from this problem. Meanwhile you might use topical ointments like Mucopain.
