Tell me about girl's period. How is it related to pregnancy.
The menstrual cycle is the monthly series of changes a woman's body goes through in preparation for the possibility of pregnancy. Each month, one of the ovaries releases an egg — a process called ovulation. At the same time, hormonal changes prepare the uterus for pregnancy. If ovulation takes place and the egg isn't fertilized, the lining of the uterus sheds through the vagina. This is a menstrual period. An in contrary, if the egg gets fertilized by the sperm, the female gets pregnant!

It can be water retention due to hormones. If a lump is felt get it checked through mammography test or equally sensitive ultrasound test which gives no risk of radiation. Reduce your salt intake. Drink lots of juices of citrus fruits like oranges and lemons. Drink more water so that you pass more urine that will reduce swelling by taking impurities out of the system.

Breast pain is a common problem if it occurs before periods, but your uterus is removed so keep watch that it occurs for few days in a month. If so it happens due to hormonal changes, however if the pain stays all through the month or if you can feel some lump/swelling then you may need to do ultrasound examination of breasts. For pain you can take paracetamol tablets, also wearing a well fitting cotton bra may help.

OKRA (BHINDI)

Many of my Diabetic people (I won’t call them patient as Diabetes is Lifestyle Disorder ) keep asking me about  Bhindi / Ladyfinger  and its benefit for Diabetes. So I thought of  compiling  up this scientific information for all My Sweet people. I hope you all find it useful.

Okra (Ladyfinger) is fast gaining a reputation as a so-called 'superfood' for people with or at risk of Diabetes or Cancer.

WHAT IS OKRA?
They are vegetables commonly used for making soups, stews or as a fried/boiled vegetable.

These tender pods are VERY LOW IN CALORIES, providing just 30 calories per 100 gms, and contain NO SATURATED FATS OR CHOLESTEROL. They are also rich in nutrients, completely Non-Toxic, and have No Adverse side effects.

HOW CAN IT HELP TREAT DIABETES?

Okra having Anti-Diabetic properties has increased in recent years, with multiple studies confirming Okra as a potent blood glucose-lowering (or Anti-Diabetic) food.

When  dried and ground okra peels and seeds are consumed they reduced blood glucose levels.

Many people with Diabetes have reported decreasing blood sugar levels after soaking cut-up okra pieces in water overnight and then drinking the juice in the morning, while in Turkey roasted okra seeds have been used as a traditional diabetes medicine for generations.

WHAT'S SCIENCE BEHIND THIS EFFECT?

The SUPERIOR INSOLUBLE FIBREcontained in okra is believed to help stabilize   Blood Glucose by SLOWING SPEED OF SUGAR  ABSORPTION   FROM THE INTESTINAL TRACT.

OTHER HEALTH BENEFITS

2.Rich in Antioxidants
3.Preventing and improving constipation
4.Lowering cholesterol

Thank you for Reading it. I hope it has helped you.

Hello, first get pregnancy test done in case you have active sexual life and if the pregnancy test is negative, then will have to rule out any other problem as there are many causes of irregular menses apart from pregnancy - nutritional deficiency, pcos, stress/ tension, excessive exertion, any other or recent medical condition, side effect of any medication, hormonal imbalance, etc. So, take her to a gynaecologist for examination and required investigation for coming to the final diagnosis and treatment.

I am 20 years old female. Skin of the boundary or my vaginal opening is out grown and dark from one side though I don't have any health issues there and it has always been like that! Is it abnormal? Should I go to doctor? And which type of doctor?

It appears to me that you are referring to the inner lips of the vulva (thin, dark folds of skin that stretch out on either side of the vaginal opening). If I guessed right, then they are absolutely normal. They are darker than the rest of the skin. However, rather than speculating, I encourage you to get examined by a doctor (gynecologist) and get clarified. Getting the genitals examined once a year or whenever any symptoms occur will do great help to your health.

The Ayurvedic Perspective of Gastritis

MD - Ayurveda
Ayurveda
Ask Free Question
Ayurveda is an ancient indian life science that requires you to make various lifestyle changes along with the use of medication that is based on herbs and condiments with massages and yogic postures. This field of medicine believes in getting to the root of the problem so as to cure it and prevent it in the future as well. Gastritis is no different and enjoys the same kind of attention when it comes to ayurveda. Here is everything you need to know about the ayurvedic perspective of gastritis.

Definition: as per ayurveda, gastritis is known as urdhva amlapitta, which can lead to the occurrence of stomach ulcers when the inflammation of the stomach lining goes untreated for a prolonged period of time. This inflammation is the basic outcome of the condition.

Causes: problems in the vata dosha, one of the four doshas in the body, can cause this condition. Also, a build up of ama or toxins due to poor digestive health, can lead to the occurrence of this disease. As per ayurveda, there are many reasons that may cause this toxin build up and the imbalance in the vata dosha. This includes eating spicy food on a regular or frequent basis and taking too many drugs like pain killers and analgesics which can lead to this condition. Also, too much of alcohol consumption and greasy food can cause gastritis. Further, one of the main causes of gastritis as per ayurveda, is the presence of too much stress and worry, and the lack of a proper routine when it comes to eating, sleeping and exercising.

Symptoms: the main symptoms include appetite loss and nausea, as well as discomfort and pain in the abdomen. Gastrointestinal bleeding and blood discharge may also occur for patients suffering from this condition. Headaches and vomiting are also common symptoms of this condition.

Medication: there are various ayurvedic medicines that can help in treating this condition. Sukumara ghrita are ghee based preparations that can be taken every morning with a glass of warm milk in order to activate the digestive fires and improve the digestive powers. The difference can usually be seen in a matter of days. Dhatri lauha includes amla juice which should be taken twice a day. Lemon juice, ajwain, amla and ginger are also helpful in such situations.

Lifestyle changes: avoiding spicy and greasy food as well as stopping alcohol abuse and smoking can help in curing this condition. One should also stay away from excessively stressful mental and physical tasks.

Taking the right steps at the right time for a proper routine with good habits can help in treating this condition as per ayurveda.

Hi, It happens to some women after child birth. You will benefit from CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy) wherein you would be helped identify factors/ events that trigger anxiety /disinterest in you, what occurs in your mind at that time and how exactly you react to them and then you will be helped to overcome each of those issues. Sometimes, the treatment would be very simple and straightforward, some times it takes some time. Please try to meet in person along with your husband.
