I have chest pain and cough over 5 years is there any solution for this. I smoke ciggarates.

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd

I have chest pain and cough over 5 years is there any solution for this. I smoke ciggarates.
I hope it is a regular chest pain and cough. But you never know with you smoking and all. You msut visit a doctor and examine teh chest pain to see that you are not developing some cardiac problem. Whatever happens the smoking must stop. It is very bad habit and if these symptoms are connected to the habit, this may hopefully be the last of your smoking. Please do some of the following as you condition improves:Tobacco consumption, either through smoke or other edible forms, is always harmful. The desire to quit is a good starting point. The best way to quit is to know more about the ill-effects of tobacco. The knowledge is astounding and scary. That information itself should help you to want to quit. The tobacco tar in cigarette smoke lines your lung with huge patches that make that portion dysfunctional. Your oxygen carrying capacity is jeopardized, and breathing is impinged. The nicotine in tobacco smoke stimulates the heart beat to raise the blood pressure in no time at all. There are more than 4000 harmful chemicals in cigarette smoke!!! You will need to stop smoking or consuming any tobacco related items with immediate effect. Then you need to identify why you smoke: there is an oral need, the nicotine effect, the psychological effect of covering up some other issue, for style, to impress, etc. You may discover that the reasons may be unimportant at this stage because you have become too addicted and the habit has become compulsive. You should start exercises, gradually increasing it over a period of time. Do deep breathing exercises every time you feel like smoking (try Yoga), and replace the oral urge with some healthy food substitute to satiate the need. You may take hard candy or chewing gum. If the urge is too strong, then use nicotine chewing gum or nicotine patches, for a little while until the smoking drive reduces substantially. You may join Smokers Anonymous in your city where the support is really extraordinary for like-minded people who are also in the same situation. Keep yourself occupied or engaged with interesting activities during the times when it is most tempting. Keep the company of non-smokers for some time i.e. at least for the first 21 days. Above all announce it to everyone that you have quit smoking. Here’s a piece of very good advice: even if you accidentally/willfully take a cigarette, it is not the end of the world – you can start the cessation all over again. Don’t be discouraged because it is not too late even now to reverse all the ill-effects of smoking. As Mark Twain once jocularly said, “giving up smoking is easy; I have done it many times”. You must persevere with the best support until you defeat this addiction. Counseling is very useful in the initial stages and when temptations are at their highest.

High Blood Pressure - Unani Remedies For Treating It!

Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (B.U.M.S)
Unani Specialist, Gaya
High Blood Pressure - Unani Remedies For Treating It!

The blood normally exerts some pressure as it passes through the blood vessels. However, due to various reasons, mainly narrowing of the blood vessels, the pressure exerted could be higher, which is known as hypertension.

In the Unani system, early reference to high blood pressure appears as Imtila, though it is today popularly known as Zaghtuddam Qawi. Imtila talks about symptoms including a headache, bulging eyes, epistaxis (bleeding nose), heavy headedness, and headache.

Types: Unani system believes in two ways that can increase blood pressure and therefore two types

  • Increased amount of blood in the vessels, which is caused a hot, moist temperament or the sanguineous type.
  • Dryness of the vessels (caused by narrowing) increases blood pressure, leading to the dry, cold melancholic type.

Causes: Unani believes high blood pressure as a result of the following sequence of events.

  • Weakening of the arteries
  • Increased food consumption, which produces more blood
  • Weak arteries which are not able to accommodate the increased amounts of blood
  • This is a vicious cycle where the arteries are further damaged, leading to further sluggish flow, further increasing pressure.

Complications: High blood pressure is not an isolated health condition. It leads to multiple complications like

Management: Managing high blood pressure is a combination of treatment and prevention. There are multiple Unani herbs, which are used in multiple formulations which help by

  • Relaxing the muscles of the heart
  • Improves blood flow
  • Eases the blood flow through the arteries

These can be taken regularly along with restrictions on diet and lifestyle which can help in improving blood pressure. These changes would include:

  1. Increased consumption of potassium-rich foods as it will counter the effect of sodium which causes higher blood pressure readings
  2. Avoid adding extra salt and reduce eating the salted, fried foods. Especially, if you have a family history, it is time to reduce salt intake at an early stage. This helps prolong the onset of high blood pressure
  3. Herbs like garlic, pepper, ginger, and lemon are helpful in controlling blood pressure
  4. Herbal teas including hibiscus and green tea are proven to help control blood pressure as opposed to a cup of coffee
  5. Dark chocolate with more than 70 per cent of cocoa is beneficial for the heart
  6. Needless to say, regular exercise including brisk walking which can improve heart’s health
  7. Deep breathing which improves oxygen consumption across arteries
  8. Reduce consumption of alcohol
  9. Quit or cut down on smoking

Dear lybrate-user Regulated hydration, drinking adequate water through out the day will help you overcome the uric acid. It will also relieve you of different toxins that will automatically get thrown out of the body. Ideal diets for you conditions will be a healthy portion of alkaline food daily. These include doodhi, red pumpkin, aramenthus leafy veg; pomegranate, pears, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, etc. Low intensity exercises like regular walking for 45 mins are much more useful than sudden bursts on alternate days. Start mindful meditation to calm the mind which will control BP, sugar as well as acidity regards.

Hello, Few lifestyle changes can help you in controlling and preventing the high blood pressure, even if you're taking blood pressure medication. Eat healthy foods. Consume more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, poultry, fish and low-fat dairy foods. Eat less saturated fat and trans fat. Decrease the salt in your diet. So, avoid eating processed foods, such as canned soups or frozen dinners which contains extra salt in it. Keeping a healthy weight, or losing weight if you're overweight or obese, can help you control your high blood pressure and lower your risk of related health problems. Increase physical activity which can help lowering your blood pressure, manage stress, reduce your risk of several health problems. Get indulged in regular exercising (if your doctor allows you). Limit alcohol. Even if you're healthy, alcohol can raise your blood pressure. If you choose to drink alcohol, do so in moderation. Don't smoke. Tobacco injures blood vessel walls and speeds up the process of hardening of the arteries. Reduce stress as much as possible. Practice healthy coping techniques, such as muscle relaxation, deep breathing or meditation. Getting regular physical activity and plenty of sleep can help, too. Monitor your blood pressure at home. Medication: You can take homoeopathic medicine - Schwabe’s Essentia Aurea/ thrice daily which is a cardio-tonic which helps in maintaining blood pressure, improves muscle tone of the heart and narrowing of blood vessels.
