Dear Lybrateuser, - to increase muscle mass you have to consume a well balanced diet with more of protein rich foods & do regular exercise - have more of fruits, vegetables including green leafy ones, protein rich foods such as eggs, lean meats, milk and milk products like cheese, buttermilk, cottage cheese, yogurt, tofu, soya products, beans, lentils, pulses, sprouts, peas and nuts such as almonds, walnuts, pista, cashews and peanuts - include a protein rich food in each of your meals and also as a snack in-between meals - do regular exercise like jogging, swimming, cycling, pushups, pullups, crunches, squats and moderate weight lifting for 10-15 min twice a week - also consult a dietitian on forum for your exact requirement of calories and proteins per day as per your activity level, dietary habits and constitution.

Dear Lybrateuser, -get investigations done urine re/me, culture, as it may be due to a urinary tract infection - have plenty of oral fluids including 2-3 litres of water - consult a doctor as you may require a course of antibiotics.

Dear lybrateuser, -Do warm salt water gargles three times a day - do steam inhalation twice a day - have tablet Cheston-C, 1 tablet twice a day after meals - have plenty of warm oral fluids - avoid exposure to dust, smoke and cold weather.

Sound Sleep - Know How To Get It!

Sleep is the best reliever of all stress and physical pain. Not only is it important to get sleep but also to sleep soundly and without any disturbance. The quality matters.

Here are a few tips to get better sleep


1. It is important to maintain the same sleep schedule every single day. This helps to naturalize your body clock and get the best quality sleep. 


2. Switch off all mobile phones, laptops and other electronic devices. Their artificial glow not only hampers your eyesight, but also prolongs the amount of time your body takes to relax and fall off to sleep. 


3. If your back pain causes you to continually wake up in the middle of the night in discomfort, then sleep with a pillow or cushion between your legs so as to straighten out your back and relieve pent up stress. 


4. The importance of your pillow can never be stressed upon enough. Your pillow should be not too fat, hard or soft. It should just about support the natural curve of your neck, so that it is perfectly aligned with the centre of your body. Correct sleeping postures are extremely important. 


5. Make sure your room is nice and dark so as to stimulate the secretion of a hormone called melatonin that is regulated by light exposure. Darker the room, greater melatonin, making you more sleepy. 


6. Those who exercise regularly and well are known to be fitful sleepers. Exercise well before bedtime. If required, do some light yoga or stretching exercises that promote sleep. 


7. What you eat throughout the day makes a difference to the quality of your sleep. Stay away from too much caffeine, alcohol, or a heavy meal just before sleeping. They only make you stay awake for longer and may cause heartburn or stomach trouble. Don't drink too much water, or else you will be making more midnight trips to the bathroom than clocking those sleep hours. 


8. Try to keep your head clear of all worries and stress when in bed. Regular meditation and deep breathing can help. 
There is no end to all the things you can do to sleep well and comfortably. It is important to be self-disciplined to sleep well and hence be a healthy individual.

Dear lybrateuser, - Do warm salt water gargles three times a day - have more of warm fluids including water, tea, coffee, soup, avoid all cold fluids and refrigerated foods - do steam inhalation twice a day - take tablet Cheston-C,1 tablet twice a day after meals - avoid spicy, fried & sour foods, also avoid dust & smoke.

I was smoked 7 years continuously. In my 15th age I start to smoke. I trapped in there. Now I am 22 years. Now I stopped smoking suddenly. Is there have any problem to stop smoking suddenly. Lot of peoples saying, thats bad for health to stop suddenly. Bcoz in every day body consuming that one. Suddenly it will not getting. So it will make bad affect in our health. Is that true. What will I do for that, is that any problem for stop smoking suddenly. What I want to do to clear my heart becoz of that smoke.

Dear Lybrateuser, - it is very good for your health that you have stopped smoking & the correct way is to stop it completely after deciding a day as you have done - there are no bad effects of stopping suddenly only that you should be able to control your urge when it is there - also have a well balanced diet with more of fruits vegetables including green leafy ones, whole grains instead of refined ones & protein rich foods to stay fit & healthy - have plenty of oral fluids including 8-10 glasses of water for proper hydration and to wash of the toxins - do regular exercise like walking, jogging, swimming, also yoga & meditation to relax your mind & body & to keep healthy.

I am 19 years old girl. Currently I am doing my higher studies so I don't get much time to eat and I have to travel a lot. In a day at least 4 -5 hrs are gone. Becoz of which I did not get time n my health is not proper so suggest me something. Dear lybrateuser, - All seasonal fruits & vegetables are good ,carry fruits like apples, pears, guava, banana, also citrus fruits are good, vegetables include green leafy ones, cabbage, cauliflower, okra or any other seasonal, have healthy snacks in-between when you are travelling to keep up your energy supply like a handful of unsalted mixed nuts, a fruit, a whole wheat sandwich with vegetables & cheese, can buttermilk, juice( preferably vegetable or fruit), - have sufficient oral fluids including 7-8 glasses of water per day for proper hydration and digestion, keep sipping water wherever you are - try to have a proper time for meals, take a protein food in each meal such as eggs, yogurt, tofu, beans, lentils, pulses, sprouts ( can be carried as a snack) - have a protein rich breakfast so that it keeps you full & also provides energy.

Dear Lybrateuser, - get investigations done, urine re/me, culture & if required ultrasound abdomen & pelvis to know the cause - also consult a doctor as you may require a course of antibiotics for your problem if it is due to a urinary tract infection.

Dear lybrateuser, - It is good to combine a carbohydrate food with a protein food to provide you with sustained energy throughout your work out, have brown(whole wheat) bread sandwich with cheese in it or a boiled egg which will be more nutritious.
