What is the dose of eltroxin you are taking? getting a high dose of eltroxin may lead to sleep abnormalities like you are having. Plus, try taking the tablet early in the morning, right after waking up, in empty stomach. This might help with the problem. Get a blood report of free t3, free t4 and tsh done once again and then consult with me privately. Dose modification might be needed according to the new reports. Will be happy to help:)

Hi lybrate-user 1. Avoid using direct and simple sugars. Try to include complex carbs in your diet so the digestion process will take some time to work to convert it into glucose. 2. Avoid junk foods such as pizza, burger, french fries and alike food stuffs. 3. Avoid processed foods. 4. Avoid sodas. 5. Restrict down the intake of artificial sweeteners. Instead you can crab on natural sugars, such as stevia. 6. Include protein of good biological value. 7. Add insoluble and soluble fiber in your diet. 8. Have plenty of cold water. 9. Have 2 portions of fruits and salads daily. 10. Inclusion of omega family fatty acids and especially omega 3 and omega 6 11. One must rotate the oil used for cooking purposes and should not stick to one oil product. One must not change the brand but the source of the oil like palm oil, almond oil, coconut oil, soy oil, sesame oil, corn oil, groundnut oil, olive oil etc. 12. Citrus fruits must also be taken in proportions. 13. Add almonds to your diet. 14. Have coconut water once a day. 15. Eat at regular intervals.

Dear lybrate-user, You should take diet as under: A couple of bananas and a few sips of lemonade or glucose powder mixed in water. A protein-heavy shake (protein supplement). Breakfast: • One, big glass of orange juice • A bowl of oatmeal to which dried nuts like almonds, walnuts and raisins are added—using skimmed or low-fat milk and some sugar • 2-3 whole eggs, scrambled or boiled • 2-3 slices of multi-grain bread coated with a bit of butter Pre-Lunch/Mid-day Snack: A bowl of yogurt made from low-fat milk Or A few granola bars that are fortified with raisins and sesame seeds Or Whole fruits like apples or peaches Lunch: • At least one form of animal meat like chicken or meat, i.e. One to two servings. • 4-5 rotis made from whole wheat or multi-grain flour, smeared slightly with ghee. • A big bowl of dal • A cup full of boiled rice • If eating meats is a problem, supplement it with cottage cheese made from tofu or low-fat milk Early Evening Snack: The better choice is a glass of low-fat milk to which an energy-inducing mix has been added. You can choose from a variety of malted mixtures. Try to add more of the malted mix rather than using synthetic sugar. You can use a few high-fiber biscuits or cookies to dip and munch upon.

My mother is 48 years old and she has a problem of osteoarthritis in her right leg. As we showed to doctors, they say the cartilage between joints of knee is almost finished i.e there is less space and which restricts my mother to walk fast, to use stairs ets. Also they said that the left knee is good enough for now but too much , but with time that will also get affected as whole weight will be on left leg. They have given some medicines for making of cartilage like "CARTIGEN-DN" and some calcium doses, some painkillers (if required). Also they said do rest as much as she can. The reason for such problem is being overweight. She weighs 100ks but she eats normal food and she drinks lot of water but still her weight is this much. Also she has now started going to physician for some affective exercises but from 2-3 day she is facing some kind of pain in her one side hip bone. I just want to ask for diet plan to take and what other measures are there for such problem.

At 48 metabolism slows down, menopause sets in causing physiological weight gain. Get opinion from ortho regarding joint replacement. Walking is not the exercise for her, her knees will get weaker. Reduce sugar and salt to bare minimum. No sweets. Lemon juice + spoon of honey in warm water on empty stomach everyday in morning. Apple cider vinegar diluted with water, as much as she likes. Green tea/clear soups/warm water every 2 hours to wash away accumulated acids in stomach to avoid acidity. Seasonal vegetables and fruits to suit her constitution-as much as she likes. Gentle massage with any oil to improve circulation and to burn the fats. Yoga under a trainer or guidance of a cd or physiotherapist only 1 meal per day in evenings with less fats, more proteins like toned milk, curd & salads. Reduce weight @ 5 kg per month only. Do not reduce her calcium intake. Work like a team taking help of ortho, physio, nutition therapist.

Exercise is the only way to reduce weight, walking, running, yoga, cycling helps a lot. Avoid eating fatty, oily food. Take more fibrous diet, less carbohydrates. Take boiled vegetables in diet. Drink lots of water. Medicines will help temporarily.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to have a persistent back pain as a health issue. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. I think these are corns, take thuja 200, 5 drops, single dose in morning empty stomach. From next day take antim crud 30 ch, 5 drops twice daily. Revert after 15 days.

Dear , only after examining it can be ascertained that what is the real leftover problem. Maybe liposuction was not done during procedure. This residual fat if present can be removed by liposuction easily with only pinholes.

Probably, you are not allowed to be yourself at home. Probably there are many things about your parents, that make you angry but you are unable to express your feelings. You have suppressed anger towards your parents. Hence you are getting angry with them all the time. Please try to find out, what are you angry about. May be you want more freedom, more love, more attention, less restrictions etc. Etc. Once you realise what is bothering you, talk to them without getting angry. Try to convey to them how you feel, when they behave in certain ways. Also please try to think from your parent's view point. They probably are still treating you like a child. Make them understand that you are growing up now, take responsibilities, which you can shoulder. Assure them of your abilities and strengths. All the best.

High cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Avoid fast foods,oily foods,junk foods,alcohol,smoking,fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress, take green veg., whole grain.garlic,. Take anti cholesterol medicines .

It is natural for heart beat to go up during exercise and when you get used to it the beat will stabilise as a precaution get tests for heart done like halter and blood for sugar and lipids and get back here with reports. You will get more guidance.

Please clear your nose before sleeping/if you are having any nasal cold. Do not sleep under direct fan/ac. Sleep in well ventilated room. Use alarm to wake up early.

He is most probably suffering from oa of knee. Knee surgery-total knee replacement (tkr) is quite safe & gives uniformly good results, in our hands.Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Surgery should be done when patient is still active & will be able to take benefit of surgery. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem. Kindly show me x rays before a final decision can be taken. You will be thoroughly investigated before surgery is under taken. Risk in surgery is less than the risk in crossing road.

Hi I am 65 and diabetes should include chicken and alcohol in my diet at weekends.
Chicken is lean protein so it is good for the body and does no harm. So you can include it any time you want. Alcohol is empty calories. And it is either made of malt or grains. They can give a spike to your blood sugar. Avoiding it completely is the best solution, but if you really feel like drinking then 1 peg with no added sugary drinks to it can be consumed. Do not snack fried food with it. Do mainly salads n nuts with it.
