I am 51 years male I am suffering from sinusitis from 10 years there is pain below I bows, please give suggestion or prescription for the above problem.

DORL, MBBS
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Faridabad
Main symptoms for sinusitis are thick nasal discharge, headache, watering eyes, forehead pain, recurrent infection of nose and mouth, post nasal drip, sinusitis, is nothing but a physiological disorder of nose which led by malfunctioning of aerodynamics of nose (temporary sinusitis, secondly it is because of repeated infections of the sinus (permanent sinusitis) sinuses regulations and air conditioning of the air which we breathe and to get the benefit of above we must have normal, well sized opened sinusitis and hence nose breathing is required, those who breathe from mouth, they have tendency to get more throat and lungs infections. Recurrent sinus infection, pollution, poor diet, spicy food, long term steam inhalation from nose, and allergies leads to thick discharge from nose. This thick mucus if stays in the sinuses, it leads to irritation of the sinus skin which is mucosa and this go on growing hence leads to permanent sinusitis this extra growth is called nasal polyps this is where patient needs surgical correction. If patient comes to nose surgeon at right time, doctor can revert his/her symptoms and surgery can be abandoned. Sinusitis if patient does not take serious steps to correct might lead to cardiac symptoms, lung diseases, etc. Once there are nasal polyps you have to go for surgery immediately.

I am 20 year male. In my left ear nerves are weak. So I felt guiltiness every second. So, what should I do?

MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
Do you know that your ear nerves are weak? at this age group. And usually giddiness is not associated with weak nerve. You might me having history of vertigo or a hole in your ear. If you gone through all check ups about your ear then let me know. Giddiness is generally associated with many diseases. Such as low bp, vertigo, anemia you should also check for that.

Hi, I am having snoring problem while sleeping and I do inhale via my mouth during sleep. Eventually when I get up I get a very sore throat and my back throat and the upper soft palate becomes painful. During the day the pain reduces but the same story continues next day. To give a brief background on my case, I had a Deviated septum and tonsillitis operation last year and post that I was able to breathe good via nose. Even now I can say 80% breathing I do via nose during normal time. But during sleep it becomes worse and I breathe by mouth. The throat gets very dry and I have seen some stuffy mucus also gets struck at the back of the throat. I get it removed by my fingure. The surface of the throat becomes so sensitive if accidentally my figure touches the wall of the back throat it bleeds (very rarely though). Do you recommend any exercise or best practice to get rid of this mouth breathing during sleep? Can the nose septum again getting deviated post my last operation?

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
Clear nasal passages. If you have a stuffy nose, rinse sinuses with saline before bed. Using a Neti pot, nasal decongestant, or nasal strips can also help you breathe more easily while sleeping. If you have allergies, reduce dust mites and pet dander in your bedroom or use an allergy medication. Keep bedroom air moist. Dry air can irritate membranes in the nose and throat, so if swollen nasal tissues are the problem, a humidifier may help. Change your sleeping position. Elevating your head four inches may ease breathing and encourage your tongue and jaw to move forward. There are specially designed pillows available to help prevent snoring by making sure your neck muscles are not crimped. Sleep on your side instead of your back.

Dear it must be a kind of fungal infections they are little difficult to remove because they remain in the skin where blood supply is very little. So it will take time to remove. If you want to cure you have to follow few medicines for 1-2 weeks. You have to consult me privately, please upload effected lesion photo.

For proper treatment you may go for ayurveda's nasya karma therapy would cure your sinuses and make things better for you. These are specialised panchakarma procedures for sinusitis. The use of some specific herbal oil drops in the nose clears the passage in the nose and cures the problem.

Male 52 My nose gets blocked as soon as the weather changes, soon as I try to sleep I can't breathe.I can only breathe with my mouth. And have the problem of runny nose as I try to eat.

Nasal blockage following weather change could be due to an allergy. Running nose while eating could be because of autonomic dysfunction. In either case, you could benefit with a steroid nasal spray. Please consult an ENT surgeon for the same.

(a) healthy & balanced diet with focus on fresh fruits/ leafy greens. Avoid yellow banana. (b) consume flesh foods in moderation. (c) take plenty of water daily and stay hydrated. (d) regularize life style, reduce stress/ strain and stay relaxed. (e) protect yourself from intense heat/ cold air. (f) do not take extremely hot/ cold/ spicy/ sour drinks as well as foods. (g) warm saline gargling 2 - 3 times daily. (h) gargle made of tulsi, cinnamon, turmeric or fenugreek seeds and honey are also beneficial. (i) avoid overcrowded places. (j) take a glass of warm filtered water to which a pinch of turmeric and a tsp of fresh honey is added properly, twice daily after food. Hope this helps.

Gargling with warm salt water is an effective way to treat a sore throat. Salt can even help kill the bacteria or virus causing pharyngitis. 1. Mix three teaspoons of salt (preferably sea salt) in two cups of warm water. 2. Gargle with this solution. Do not swallow it. Spit the water out after gargling. 3. Do this several times daily for one to two days.
