Mix 1 spoon of milk powder, 1 spoon of lemon juice and 1 spoon of almond oil. Apply this concoction on your skin; leave it on for 15 minutes before washing off. This is an effective skin lightening mask. This home remedy gives excellent results in getting fair skin at home.

Exercising Your Way to Younger Looking Skin

The benefits of regular exercise in our constantly changing lifestyles cannot be over emphasized. Look at any of the lifestyle associated diseases and exercise is definitely one of the ways to beat it. Over the years, with stress and changed lifestyle, people are ageing faster than they should; the rate of ageing has also increased. Including exercise as a regimen can immensely help anti-ageing. Read on to know how exercise can help skin look younger and reverse some effects of ageing.

For those who are used to a moderate workout regularly, it is like an energy drink that fires up the brain and body, leaving you more alert and alive. While most people associate exercise with workout and fatigue, the truth is that it energizes and vitalizes the body like nothing else.

  1. With age, the outer layer of the skin thickens and the inner layer becomes thin. This results in freckles, dark circles under the eyes, reduced elasticity, etc. The thinning inner layer is not able to replace collagen and replace elasticity at the same rate as it is being lost. What exercise does is work up sweat, which cleans off the dead cells from the top layer. The skin pores open up, thereby allowing the skin to breathe which in turn allows more oxygen to reach the underlying thin layer, and lets it make collagen. This improves firmness and elasticity of the skin.
  2. Another way the skin is benefitted from exercise is the effect it has on the skin, which is almost equivalent to a facial. Sweating from an exercise opens up the pores, which removes all the dirt trapped in the immediate underlying layers. One should not forget to wash off the skin after a good workout; else the dirt can settle and cause damage.
  3. Another way exercise benefits the skin is by reducing general inflammation in the body. This helps regulate hormones that are essential for the skin and prevents free radical damage, which helps prevent ageing of the skin.
  4. Exercise also improves blood flow in the skin. A workout requires more blood flow to the various body parts and the tiny arteries under the skin open up, allowing more free flow of blood. This ensures the skin gets the essential nutrients that are essential for regular maintenance and growth and repair. It also reduces damage from sun and improves collagen production, which helps in controlling wrinkles.

As mentioned earlier, the underlying thinner layer has, what are called fibroblasts, which gradually reduce in number with age. The added nutrient supply can improve their number and function, adding elasticity to the skin. The overall health benefits, stress reduction, improved vitality and vigor add to these benefits, producing a younger-looking you!

Dear Ms. lybrate-user, It is important to understand that the exact cause of dark circles has not been fully established, hence a perfect form of therapy doesn't really exist. Some possible causes include: Genetic, lack of sleep, extreme weight and volume loss from the area, lack of hydration, late nights, constant straining at laptop TV etc, vascularity based pigmentation. Having a balanced yet healthy lifestyle goes a long way. I agree most creams fail to deliver. There are certain cosmetic peels which may help which are done by us the dermatologists after a thorough assessment.

I have much deep acne scar I have taken co2 fractional laser treatment and also done drama roller treatment but there is no results from that. Hi apply pranacharya face glow on your face for 15 minutes then wash it with warm water. Take pranacharya b clean syrup 2-2 tsf twice a day. Take pranacharya allergin capsule 1-1 twice a day. Wash your face with any good ayurvedic soap containing neem etc.......

First of all you should follow some basic thing 1. Avoid=hot and cold at time 2. Less the sugar as much as possible if you want to eat sweet take juggery which is black 3. Do not drink water after meal drink at the time of meal sip by sip up to 150 ml 4. Avoid late night sleep 5. Avoid to eat spicy food, besan, bekary food, overeating, junk food. 6. Every 3 day in month eat mung dal and rice for whole day. There is in ayurveda mention pinda swed. It is a type of swedan karma [phomentation] but it do some another manner. 1. Boiled a rice in milk then take this rice in one white cloth then tied it properly and warmly it rub on your face every morning for 15 days then stop it and do next month again 2. Apply almond oil on your face and massage for 3-5 min at night. By doing above thing you will get good result.

The main symptoms of leprosy include: muscle weakness. Numbness in the hands, arms, feet, and legs. Skin lesions. Cure: prescribed antibiotics medications are the primary treatment for leprosy. Compliance with the full course of antibiotics is crucial to successful treatment. Patients should also be educated to closely inspect their hands and feet for possible injuries sustained which may go unnoticed because of the loss of sensation. Ulcers or tissue damage can result, leading to skin infections and disability. Proper footwear and injury prevention should be encouraged. If ignored it can be very dangerous.

Redness can be due to sun/uv rays. Protect your face in sun, apply broad spectrum sun screen. -eat sugar free chewing gum, it is good to shape jaws. -do the following exercises: 1. Pout and move your mouth portion left to right ten times and repeat it 10-12 times. 2. Wide open your eyes, mouth, teeth, raise your eyebrows and stretch the whole face like this, five times for 10 seconds each.

Fight Against Skin Changes After Menopause

Every woman endures menopause, by the time she reaches middle age. It comes with a lot of complications and skin changes are also not spared. It is vital to know how to fight the skin changes of menopause to take right actions at the right time.

Changes experienced: Major problems faced are hormonal changes and their declines. Ultimately, ovarian activity slows down decreasing in B-Estradiol levels. This leads to hot flashes or warmth feel under the skin, especially on face and profuse sweating. The overall experience leads to decrease in the production of estrogen and progesterone, leading to skin changes.

  1. Oily Skin: Testosterone production is prominent that stimulates sebaceous glands to secrete thicker sebum making skin appear oily.
  2. Facial Hair: Some women show development of facial hair, especially on chin.
  3. Sagging Skin and Wrinkles: Decrease in estrogen leads to fat redistribution. This results in skin sagging on face, neck, hands and arms.
  4. Elastosis: Lower estrogen levels lead to decrease in collagen and elastin in the skin dermis. UV rays destroy collagen resulting in elastosis.
  5. Thinning Epidermis: This leads to trans-epidermal water loss and dry skin.
  6. Hyperpigmentation / Age Spots: Melanin production is tampered after menopause, which causes hyperpigmentation. 

How to fight against It:
Here are some tips on how to fight the skin changes of menopause.

  1. With age, skin becomes dry. Right cleanser with a creamy formula is a solution for dry skin. 
  2. Use heavier cream to moisten your skin. Avoid hot, long showers.
  3. Skin protection from sunlight is a must. Choose a sunscreen that is from a broad-spectrum SPF30 or higher and use it regularly.
  4. Due to hormonal changes, wrinkles appear, and hence you need to apply moisturizer on face, jawline and neck regularly. Use skin-care products meant to act against fine lines and sagging.
  5. Face, hands and chest usually get affected with age spots. Use sunscreen every day. Those who are already affected with spots, use exfoliating products. These products help to shed dead skin cells. Toners may also help.
  6. Apply moisturiser on hands too and wear gloves while doing household or yard work.
  7. Eat foods with antioxidants such as brightly coloured fruits and vegetables.
  8. Soy, which is rich in isoflavones, acts like estrogen in the body.
  9. Stress tends to make skin drier. Yoga, meditation, etc. helps to relax.
  10. Do exercise regularly to tone your muscles.
  11. Sleep well: Beauty sleep is most essential to regenerate your cells. Sleep prevents dark circles under eyes. Around 8 to 9 hours of sleep is recommended.

Our skin health is dependent on our nutritional status too. It is not just external but internal care that is needed. 1. Avoid junk/ processed/ready to eat/fried/fatty/ oily/ sugary foods, table salt, soft & hard drinks, sweets, chocolates, ice cream 2. Drink 3 litres water daily 3. Have lots of fresh fruits, fruit juices, coconut water, vegetables, vegetable juice, soup, stock, stew, green/white/herbal tea, dal, buttermilk, lassi, milk/milkshake. 4. Exercise daily for 1/2 hr.

My skin produce excess sebum. I am 23 years old still I have excess oily skin problem. I have to wash face 4 times a day in every 3 hours. And within a week I get new whites on whole face especially on forehead, side face, chin. There are many fixed sites where I get very big white heads nodules. I keep extracting them in every 7 days. And its again pop up. No acne problem or whiteheads turn to blackheads if left for more than 20 days. I have lot of whitehead on my face I can easily feel them with fingers. I have this problem from teenage. But I think by now it must have controlled. So only way it can be controlled by controlling my sebum production. Do Vitamin A helps for that?

To control excess sebum you can try AHA glow face wash which does a good job of controlling excess oil. As far as whitehead is concerned diet plays a big role in keeping them in control. Eat as less oil as possible, leave junk and soda, take vitamin C juice daily and keep your digestion in order by eating lot of fibre.

I have to sit in the office for long hours. For 2nd time I have developed red patches on the front side of both legs below knees. The patches darken by the days and sometimes get very itchy. I do not wear long socks. Please note that the patches appear in summer only. I apply coconut oil over my hands legs and face after taking bath as a conditioner. Thanx.

Hi make a paste of neem leaves and apply on the targeted pimples. If you cannot get fresh neem leaves, try to get some dried bottled neem leaves, steep for 10 minutes in warm water and use as a paste. Apply pranacharya face glow on your face for 15 minutes then wash it with warm water.

Details of my son 6 years old. Red bumps appears on face head and other body parts and disappeared on next day. Very itchy. From last two years in summer season mostly. Hives are irritating and difficult to live with. Chronic urticaria is the medical terminology and this condition needs proper assessment. The triggers should be identified. Based on your description, it appears that you have intermittent variable of chronic urticaria. These conditions have strong relation to one's internal health and it needs to be evaluated as often quoted - Skin is the mirror of internal health. Your dermatologist will decide a treatment plan for you after a consultation which probably will include a non-sedative antihistamine and some other medications based on blood chemistry. A common mistake is to take antihistamines as when and needed while it should be taken for a reasonably long time frame in urticaria whether you develop hives or not. After a certain period, it is advisable to wean the treatment. Few advance treatment options also exist which requires once a month treatment. Hope it helps.
