Sometimes I suffer from chest pain and the pain is only at my left side Is it anything serious ...
It may be the serious issue Miss Sanika. Generally chest pain at your age is due to hyperacidity. Another reasons are respiratory problems, cardiac problems, muscular pain. So first of all concentrate on hyperacidity.Avoid spicy oily and junk food.Avoid tea coffee and aerated drinks. Drink plenty of liquids daily. Take proper sleep at night. Wish you a good health and soon recovery.

My father is diabetic. And heart patient also. Can you tell me proper diet chart.

MSc
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Hyderabad
My father is diabetic. And heart patient also. Can you tell me proper diet chart.
We recommend intake of slow-release carbs (low gycemic index (GI) foods) to keep blood sugar levels even because they are digested more slowly. High GI foods spike the blood sugar rapidly, while low GI foods are absorbed gradually. We encourage eating regularly at set times. Eat smaller meals at regular intervals (6 to 7 times a day) as both overeating and starving could result in fatigue as well as cause blood sugar levels to fluctuate. The body is better able to regulate blood sugar levels—and the weight—when an individual maintains a regular meal schedule. We recommend moderate and consistent portion sizes for each meal or snack. •Reduce saturated fat and cholesterol from your diet. •Trim any visible fat off meat before cooking and remove the skin before cooking. Consume fish or chicken instead of red meat. •Instead of frying, choose to grill, broil, bake, or stir-fry. •Avoid using heavy cream, use low-fat milk. •Eat more foods rich in fiber, such as fruits, vegetables and whole grains. •Consume a low-fat balanced diet consisting of whole-grain cereals, low-fat/ skimmed dairy, fruits, vegetables, sprouts. •Avoid stimulants such as too much caffeine. •Drink 10 to 12 glasses of water everyday. •Lose weight, if overweight. Aim to maintain a healthy body weight. •Increase your level of physical activity (walk at least 45 minutes to 1 hour daily). •Meditation and relaxation techniques can help calm the body and mind, bringing them into a better state of balance. •Get enough sleep. A good night’s sleep helps reduce overall fatigue, anxiety and stress.

Raised blood pressure is not a disease in itself. It is just a sign of some underlying disorder. Homeopathy offers good prognosis for cases of essential hypertension. The treatment is based upon the cause and the totality of the case. A constitutional homoeopathic treatment will cure you permanently. You can easily take an online consultation for further treatment guidance and permanent cure without any side effects

VL DL. 25.
Cholesterol level should be measured at least once every five years in everyone over age 20. The screening test that is usually performed is a blood test called a lipid profile. Experts recommend that men ages 35 and older and women ages 45 and older be more frequently screened for lipid disorders. The lipoprotein profile includes: Total cholesetrol LDL (low-density lipoprotein CHOLESETROL also called "bad"CHOLESTETROL HDL (high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, also called "good" cholesterol) TRIGLYCERIDES (fats carried in the BLOOD from the food we eat. Excess calories, alcohol, or sugar in the body are converted into TRIGLYCERIDES and stored in fat cells throughout the body. High triglycerides and cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Change life style .do meditation, yoga, Go walk daily, do any one physically activity daily i.e.play any game., Avoid fast foods, oily foods, junk foods, alcohol, smoking, fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress, take plenty of water in day time. Mr. Lybrate-user, the only solution for diabetes is to take appropriate drug treatment, plus diet control and regular exercise. Rbs 200 is a fairly high sugar level needs urgent initiation of treatment. Plus you should avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries and sweetened aerated drinks, highly processed foods, fructose corn syrup containing products and high fat milk products. Consume more of green leafy vegetables and salads. Also exercise daily for at least 1 hour a day.

Dear Sir, After seeing a diastolic bp of 85-95 over few months, I went to take a ecg as a precautionary. No pain or discomfort in chest. ECG results came as Normal Sinus rhythm v rate 50-99 but borderline t wave abnormalities. (T/QRS ratio < 1/20 or flat T) Rate 92, PR 134, QRSD 91, QT 354, QTc 438 P 75, QRS 58, T 3 12 Lead, standard placement Is it a problem? I'm 28/M (diagnosed with hypo thy, now in normal levels, bp 120/80)

MBBS, PGDCC
Cardiologist, Delhi
Hi, Welcome. Your ECG seems ok, but seeing the actual ECG is more important. As you said, your diastolic bp is 85-95, which is high for your age. So, monitor your bp regularly. I'll also advise you for certain tests - Kidney function test, thyroid profile, Lipid profile, Renal doppler & 2D Echo to rule out any possible causes of high bp. Come back if you need further help. Thanks.
