Hi, I am professional footballer and I want to know that can I take electoral powder or ORS powder daily.
In my opinion it is not bad for health as both the things contain ingredient to reduce dehydration and to provide some amount of energy to your body. Keeping apart from good or bad, each work differently so consuming separate is best one.

I am 22 year old I have thyroid problem. My weight is 39 kgs only. Please suggest me to gain weight.

Dear you can easily gain weight by following these best things - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly. If you have any disease of digestive system you should treat disease first. For proper digestion - take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after meal. Or take 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper (kali mirch), 1/ 2 tea spoon of jeera (cumin), 2-3 slice of ginger. Boil it in one glass of water for 2-3 minutes. Drink 5-10 teaspoons (15-20 ml) in morning and evening for strong digestive system. Or you can take amla powder 1 teaspoon with water for strong digestion. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calorie food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. I am sending the diet chart. Follow it in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. In morning, get up early and take awalk for 10-15 minutes and exercise light weight exercises for at least 30 minutes at home or gym. 4. For proper weight, proper sleep is very important. So you should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. 5. Avoid soft drinks, western fast food (burgers, french fries, pizza etc. They disturb your digestion. 6. You can try protein powders like endura mass, milk powder, soya protein. And creatinine for weight gain by taking 1 tea spoon added in milk once a day.

For weight loss along with exercise it is important to take frequent meals at regular interval of time. Empty stomach try to include 2 tsp aleovera juice+ 2 tsp amla juice in equal amount of water. In Breakfast you can museli/oats+ milk+ 1 apple /1 bowl green moong dal sprouts/1-2 besan cheela+ green chutney. In mid morning 1 cup green tea + 1 bowl fruits. Lunch 1-2 wheat bran roti+ 1bowl veg+ 1 bowl salad/1 bowl veg daliya + 1bowl curd E.T:1 cup tea+ 1bowl roasted channa/murmura Dinner: 1 bowl fruits+ 1glass skimmed milk/Grilled/roasted paneer/1-2 bowl cooked yellow moong dal+ 1bowl veg. After Dinner Take 1 cup jasmine tea.

It is made up of collagen from the animals and is cheap and effective but liquid material cannot be put inside the gelatin capsule.

Hello Dr. Meri height 5.4 inch and weight 57. 7 kg hai to height v/s weight ke hisab se mujhe kitta wait maintain rakhna chaiye .aur AGR yeh weight jaida hai to isse kam kaise kre .meri deit hai mrng me 3 roti + sabji and evg. Me 3 roti and sabji aur evg. Me ek glass milk. Aur iske alawa abhi kaam bahut kam rahta hai .abhi sona aur bethna and kuch kuch kaam rahta hai.

Hello Rahul, your height Vs weight is proportionate. You could add extra proteins in the form of 2 glasses milk,2 eggs, Nutrella or chicken. Also add exercise like brisk walking for half an hour daily.

Hye, Thanks for the query. The moment you think of weight gain, whatever is your workout or diet intake, does not justify taking a protein supplement. You cannot gain weight by just adding a protein source to your diet. Weight gain needs additional calories through a balance of carbohydrates, proteins, healthy fats and exercise. Proteins are not stored in the body like other nutrients. Your body will utilize only as much protein it needs and the rest will be broken down for energy purpose which is it's secondary function; main being building/repairing muscles. Depending on the exercise (ie. Strength training/cardio or activities like gymnastics or weight lifting) your body's needs for proteins varies. Although whey is natural and the most easily and quickly assimilated form of protein - it is not needed to be exclusively included in your diet. You have to have a balanced healthy protein rich diet for the supplement to be utilised.       Protein need totally depends on your present food intake & activity levels. So, for weight gain you need a balanced, calorie dense diet and a good exercise routine first. The supplement actually works only if the above factors are set right. So, if it's in excess of the needs of the body it can have side effects like fat accumulation, pressure on the kidneys, etc.

I am 41 years old female and a diabetic patient for the past 12 years. My present medicines are okra 10 once in a day. Triposmeal 2 mg 3 in a day .tendia 20 once in a day and telmax 50 one per day. I am worried about the heavy dose of my medicine. How can I bring down my diabetes and blood pressure without these strong medication. Please give me a reply.

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. You have mentioned about the medicines being taken, but there is no mention about the blood glucose readings (fasting, PP & HbA1c%) and also about BP. So it is difficult to give any opinion. The medicines given are all normal average ones used for most of the diabetic and high BP patients. There is nothing like "strong medicines" These are all very well tolerated and are with minimal side effects. If you want to control diabetes and BP then there is no option but take these drugs. Plus observe strict diet controla and exercise daily. Thanks.

  5. Controls LDL cholesterol, thereby reducing chances of heart disease: LDL cholesterol, also known as bad cholesterol, is controlled by allicin as it improves liver functions. The liver can then break down LDL cholesterol easily and thus also helps in preventing arteriosclerosis. Garlic is also known to prevent blood clots that lead to heart attacks.
  6. Garlic has anti-parasitic and anti-bacterial properties: Garlic has been known throughout the ages to be an affective antibacterial and anti-parasitic agent. Garlic extracts or small amounts of garlic in your diet can help you build up immunity and also kill infections within your system effectively.
