Hi, my right shoulder is lower then my left shoulder and sometimes there is severe pain. I do weight lifting. I think...
Then it is due to shoulder dislocation in the right side that's the reason it is lowered than the left. Shoulder strapping should be done to reduce the dislocation and take rest after. Shoulder dislocation reduction will be done by the Orthopaedic doctor and after wards you have to do shoulder strengthening exercises which should be done intensely

Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. Please enclose your relevant x rays so that I can exclude any bony injury. Also even soft tissue injuries takes around 2-3 weeks to heal properly provided adequate precautions are taken. But we first need to be sure that there is no bony injury. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Thanks & regards Dr Akshay Kumar Saxena

I am going to gym from a week and my muscles pains I have read about DOMS I am not sure what it is? Can you explain.

Fellowship in Neurological Rehabilitation, BPTh/BPT
Physiotherapist, Gurgaon
Hi, one step towards fitness. Good initiative! Delayed-Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS) is exercise related muscle pain. It develops after excessive and unaccustomed exercise. It is particularly prevalent with eccentric exercises (muscle lengthening) component eg downhill running, longer distance running, plyometric exercises, and landing drills. DOMS is caused by micro muscle fibres tears (muscle strains). The microtrauma results in an inflammatory response. The classic DOMS sufferer describes a dull muscular ache that develops 24 to 48 hours after the performance of new or strenuous exercise. It is localised to the involved muscles and will result in muscle stiffness plus tenderness. You should avoid aggressive exercise during the recovery phase. To get details how to prevent DOMS you can consult me or or any experienced physiotherapist Thanks.

I fell down in the bathroom and pain in the right lower ribs. What can happen in ribs fracture?
Hi, not to worry, even if fractures are there nothing much to be done. Rib belt and analgesics will help. Pain will persist for more than 1 month, especially when you take deep breath, cough, or lift weight on that side. It will gradually decrease.

What to Know About Plantar Fasciitis

DNB (Orthopedics), MS - Orthopaedics
Orthopedist, Visakhapatnam
What to Know About Plantar Fasciitis

There are many conditions that can affect the foot. Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain. The plantar belt is the level band of tissue (tendon) that can give your heel unresolved issue toes. It can form curves on your foot. In the event that you strain your plantar belt, it gets powerless, swollen, and chafed (excited). Mobility also becomes an issue in such cases. At this point, your heel or the base of your foot will hurt when you try to stand or walk.

Plantar fasciitis is commonly found in middle aged people. It also affects elderly individuals who are constantly on their feet. It is known to affect people who are into sports or even those in the defense forces. It can happen in one foot or both feet.

Causes: Rehashed strain can cause the tendon to tear. These can prompt agony and swelling. This will probably happen if the following conditions are met:

  • Your feet roll inward excessively when you walk (too much pronation)
  • You have high curves or level feet
  • You walk, stand, or keep running for drawn out stretches of time, particularly on hard surfaces
  • You are overweight
  • You wear shoes that don't fit well
  • You have tight Achilles tendons or calf muscles

Symptoms: A vast majority of patients with plantar fasciitis experience pain when they begin to move about after getting out of bed or sitting for a while. You may have less stability and experience pain after you take a couple strides. The motion also begins to sting the feet.

Treatment: There are numerous things you can try to improve your foot:

  • Avoid walking or running on hard surfaces.
  • To lessen the pain and swelling, you can try applying ice on your heel. You can also take an over-the-counter pain reliever like Ibuprofen, (for example, Advil or Motrin) or naproxen, (for example, Aleve).
  • Do toe stretching exercises and calf and towel extensions a few times a day, particularly when you wake up in the morning. (To perform towel extensions, you have to pull on both closures of a moved towel that you put under the bundle of your foot.)
  • Get another pair of shoes. Pick shoes with great curve support and a padded sole. Additionally, you can wear heel glasses or shoe embeds (orthotics). Use them in both shoes even if only one foot is affected.
  • Plantar fasciitis is caused by wounds that have happened after some time. With treatment, you will have less agony in a couple of weeks. The recovery period could also range from a couple of months to a year.

Hi, this is PREMKUMAR from Vijayawada. I have been facing the problem back pain from last 30 days. What is the reason getting pain frequently. What is the solution for that.

Hi, this is PREMKUMAR from Vijayawada. I have been facing the problem back pain from last 30 days. What is the reason...
Homeopathy is one of the most important and effective therapy for back pain. Homeopathy produces excellent results in backache treatment without producing any side effect and is extensively used in all over the world. Homeopathy is a nature system of healing and that is why it can heal whole symptoms of illnesses and it also cure the illness from its root. Tips for backache: heavy objects should be pushed rather than pulled. The weight of the objects should be taken in your bent legs and arms and not in your back. During an acute attack sleep with a pillow under the knees. Choose shoes that offer good support in the arch and have low, but not flat, heels. Prop up one foot on a box or low stool when you're standing for a long time. Use a chair that provides support for your back, or tuck a little pillow behind your lower back. Tips to improve balance/alignment/motion: lift your leg so your thigh is parallel to the ground while touching a wall. Hold it for five breaths. For alignment, move side to side while sitting on a balance ball. For motion, try moving forward and backward on the ball.
