Indian Diet Plan for Weight Loss

Diploma in Nutrition

Indian Diet Plan for Weight Loss

The age old maxim of “Have your breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper” serves true and good, even today. Most of us, when looking to lose weight, focus more on the exercises rather than the diet. In any weight loss plan, diet assumes a major role, as with the help of proper diet modifications and necessary diet changes, you can make sure the weight you are losing does not come back. Indian diets are primarily based on lentils and cereals and not meat heavy diets.

In order to tailor your diet according to your fat loss goals, you need to make sure you are getting all the necessary nutrients in the right amounts. Here is laid out the traditional Indian diet plan to lose the unwanted adipose:

  1. Breakfast like a king: Breakfast is your first meal of the day, which makes it the most important meal as well. The various options for breakfast are two hardboiled eggs and a slice of brown bread or a bowl of ‘dalia khichdi’ consisting of vegetables and a poached egg. Both these options contain complex carbohydrates, protein and healthy fats, all of which are the basics if you want to give this long journey forward the most perfect kick start.

  2. Do indulge in some mid-morning snacks: The mid-morning snack should ideally be 3 hours before lunch. A mid-morning snack is used to fill in the gap between lunch and breakfast, as a long gap can cause your metabolism to dip. Ideal choices for mid-morning snacks are soaked chickpeas or half an apple.

  3. Have your lunch like a prince: Lunch needs to be lighter than breakfast, so avoid eating any refined grains. You can opt for two chapattis, a vegetable curry and a fish or a bowl of brown rice, vegetables and chicken soup.

  4. Evening snacks: Don’t give them a miss! The evening snack can be a repetition of the mid-morning snack. Healthy sprouts or an apple serve as delicious yet very healthy alternatives.

  5. Have your dinner like a pauper: Dinner should ideally be the lightest meal of the day, as a heavy dinner can stress your digestive system before sleep. Opt for a bowl of vegetable soup or a piece of chapatti and a bowl of dal. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

When there is a slight pain in the testicles one feels during walking and sitting, is that a problem? If yes, then what should be the further steps?

BHMS
Homeopath, Sindhudurg
Over masturbation depletes the body of necessary neurochemicals, which help power the sex drive and keep the body in a balanced state. Men who masturbate in excess see a depletion in blood flow and an increase of the inflammatory responses. When the testicles experience a reduction in blood flow along with inflammatory signals, pain can ensue. Men who over masturbate see a decrease in testicular circulation and an increase in stagnation that leads to pain and testicle soreness. Meanwhile the testicles experience an increase in testicular interstitial tissue edema that creates groin pain.

I' m a 32 years old male. I' m brushing daily morning thoroughly before breakfast since my childhood. But the colour of my tooth is not pure white. Is there any tips to do along with daily brushing to get pure white colour?

BDS, Non-Resident J.R. in Dept. of Orthodontics, Certified oral implantologist, Advanced Aesthetics, Digital Smile Designer
Dentist, Jammu
Start using colgate visible white toothpaste, if still you are not satisfied, you can go for bleaching of teeth(dental bleaching, also known as tooth whitening, is a common procedure in general dentistry. According to the fda, whitening restores natural tooth color and bleaching whitens beyond the natural color. There are many methods available, such as brushing, bleaching strips, bleaching pen, bleaching gel, and laser bleaching. Teeth whitening has become the most requested procedure in cosmetic dentistry today)

Hello, You BMI- 32( OVERWEIGHT) Regular exercise , cycling, jogging, walking, swimming Every day 1 glass Luke warm water with lemon •Eating plenty of fibre in your diet. Foods rich in fibre include wholegrain bread, brown rice and pasta, oats, peas, lentils, grain, beans, fruit, vegetables and seeds. •Having at least five portions, or ideally 7-9 portions, of a variety of fruit and vegetables per day. These should be in place of foods higher in fat and calories. For example, fruit makes a good, healthy snack if you feel hungry. • Limiting fatty food such as fatty meats, cheeses, full-cream milk, fried foods, butter, etc. Use low-fat options where possible. Examples are: •Skimmed or semi-skimmed instead of full-cream milk. •Using low-fat, mono-unsaturated or polyunsaturated spreads instead of butter. •If you eat meat, eating lean meat, or poultry such as chicken. • Try to grill, bake or steam rather than fry food. If you do fry food, choose a vegetable oil such as sunflower, rapeseed or olive. •Avoiding sugary drinks and foods such as chocolate, sweets, biscuits, cakes, etc. •Limiting other foods likely to be high in fat or sugar such as some take-away or fast foods. •Eating three meals a day and not skipping meals. Always have breakfast. Eat each meal slowly. Skipping meals will just make you feel more hungry, make you think more about food, and make you more likely to overeat in the evening or snack between meals. •Trying not to add salt to food, and avoiding foods that are salty
