Hi, shivering (also called shuddering) is a bodily function in response to early hypothermia or just feeling cold[1] in warm-blooded animals. When the core body temperature drops, the shivering reflex is triggered to maintain homeostasis. Skeletal muscles begin to shake in small movements, creating warmth by expending energy. Shivering can also be a response to a fever, as a person may feel cold. During fever the hypothalamic set point for temperature is raised. The increased set point causes the body temperature to rise (pyrexia), but also makes the patient feel cold until the new set point is reached. Severe chills with violent shivering are called rigors. Rigors occur because the patient's body is shivering in a physiological attempt to increase body temperature to the new set point. Shivering can also appear after surgery. This is known as postanesthetic shivering.

Blood cancer is due to rapid multiplication of blood cells, most commonly white blood cells. It is called leukemia. It can be treated, however, we can not stop it. Brain tumor can be treated by surgery and radiation therapy.

Hi, I have been suffering from insomnia and took medicine for that I got batter but the other I realized I am sleeping but there is not satisfaction after sleep I still feel that I did not sleep for a minute. Now I just started gyming and experiencing body ache after 2 days of exercise. Is it bad if body is not experiencing the pain next day of the exercise. Is there any connection of pain with my sleeping pattern.

Follow these simple steps to ensure a good sleep every night and stay away from sleep disorders and other health problems associated with unhealthy sleep habits: 1) maintain a regular sleep routine go to bed at the same time. Wake up at the same time. Ideally, your schedule will remain the same (+/- 20 minutes) every night of the week. A good sleep hygiene routine promotes healthy sleep and daytime alertness. 2) avoid sleeping during the daytime. It can disturb the normal pattern. 3) avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol near bedtime. While alcohol may speed the onset of sleep, it creates problems in he second half of sleep. 4) exercise can promote good sleep. Exercise should be taken in the morning or late afternoon. Yoga, can be done before bed to help. 5) have a quiet, comfortable bedroom. Set your bedroom thermostat at a comfortable temperature. Generally, a little cooler is better than a little warmer. Turn off the tv and other extraneous noise that may disrupt sleep. Background'white noise' like a fan is ok. If your pets awaken you, keep them outside the bedroom. Your bedroom should be dark. Turn off bright lights. Have a comfortable mattress. 6) avoid heavy meals close to bedtime. 7) ensure adequate exposure to natural light. 8) avoid emotionally upsetting conversations and activities before trying to go to sleep. Do not think of, or bring your problems to bed. 9) stop using all your digital devices and stop looking at digital screens be it mobile phones or televisions at least 1 hour before the time you plan to sleep. Instead try reading a fiction book near bedtime so it makes you help relaxed and de-stressed. Sleep well live healthy and live longer.

Dear Lybrateuser, -You have to reduce your weight by about 10-15 kgs as obesity leads to lot of health problems -do regular aerobic exercises like brisk walking, jogging for at least one hour, also do yoga & deep breathing for 10-15 min in the morning -avoid fried, processed & junk food, sweets, aerated drinks, have a balanced diet with more of fruits & vegetables, whole grains, low fat dairy, nuts, have 8-10 glasses of water of water for proper digestion & hydration -get investigated blood sugar, cholesterol, ecg & consult a doctor.

I'm a 24years old men, 1year back I suffering head injury, 5 days in coma, injured in left occipital bone - temporal bone side, doctors says nervous & mussels crashed, surgery Done now I'm well but some times Sevier pain, My injury period accident before day to discharge day nearly 20 day's I forgot my Memory. Future day's suffering any complications.

After effects of head injury are not uncommon. The memory loss during your head injury was due to post traumatic amnesia. You do not have to worry about that.

Many epileptic women have a normal pregnancy and give birth to normal offspring but there is a high risk of development of complications.vaginal delivery is recommended.

The frequency of seizures does not change pregnancy child delivery or puerperium.

I cannot get sleep now a days. Since last two three days I am awake. Not even a single hour I have slept. I do not know what is happening. Is this insomnia? Sometimes I think that it happens because I do not get tired. But then I realised that even after I do hell lot of work the whole day, I do not get sleep. Please suggest some remedy for this.

1. You may be having anxiety or stress. Avoid stress. 2. You need 7-8 hours of sound sleep to remain healthy. 3. Go for regular exercise, Take part in games and sports, 4. Do yoga, meditation and deep breathing exercise like pranayama to calm your mind, control your emotion, relieve anxiety and improve concentration. 5. Adhere to a specific sleep time and regular schedule 6. Take light dinner. 7. Avoid taking tea/coffee at bed time. Have a glass of warm milk at bed time. 8. Don’t go to sleep immediately after dinner. Take a small walk after dinner and if possible take hot water bath before sleep. Read a light magazine or interesting book before going to bed 9. Avoid late night. 10. Don’t sleep in day time 11. Don’t take sleeping pill

During pregnancy the size of vagina is increase or not? And which conditions is responsible for seizure?

The size of the vagina does not increase in pregnancy. However it may become lax due to increased blood supply. Seizures or epilepsy in pregnancy can be of different types. Mostly no obvious pathology is found. Hence treatment is with antiepileptic drugs to control and prevent fits. Occasionally they can be due to tumor, infection etc;

Hi, you have sinus headache alongwith migraine headache. These two are closely related. Take following medicines nat suph 30 4pills to be sucked thrice a day for 30days kali bich 200 4pills to be sucked thrice a day for 30 days take plain water steam once a day avoid eating curd, icecreams, pickles, papad, citrus fruits, watermelon, green skin bananas, pineapple, strawberries, custard apple, guavas. Stop using mosquito repellants. Stay away from bright lights, loud noise, too much spicy food, chocolates as these are the triggering factors in increasing migrainous headache. As these are the causes which worsen the headache. Don't take ashwagandha.

My brother is 22 years old. He is facing hand shaking issue both left and right hand many times even he sit comfortably at home or in no anxiety position, no tension position. He does take any durg.
