Hello, I am Dr Brij Mohan Makkar, I specialise in management of diabetes and obesity. Jaisa ki aap jante hain ki diabetes bahut hi teji se puri duniya mein aur India may bhi bad rahi hai, aur khaas taur pe ye Indian population mein diabetes jo hai ek younger age pe hoti hai. Agar western population mein diabetes 50 se 55 saal ki age mein hoti hai, toh Indians main dus saal pehle yani ki 40 45 saal ki age me hona shuru ho jati hai aur Jaise Jaise motapa bad raha hai diabetes aur jaldi bardna shuru ho gayi hai. Toh jaise hi patient ko diabetes hoti hai bahut common sawal hamare paas aata hai ki doctor sahab kya isko hum Jad se khatam kar sakte hain, iska answer jo hai kuch had tak han hai aur kuch had tak na bhi hai. Woh patients jinki diabetes abhi bilkul recent onset hai, ya initial char se paanch saal ke andar hai aur young age mein hui hai aur agar unka weight jyada hai, toh agar hum unko aggressively manage kare to unki diabetes kuch hadd tak reverse ho sakti hai. Actually mein usko reversal nahi kahunga, revolution kahunga kyunki hamien ye nahi pata ki woh lifelong rahegi ya nahi rahegi. Ye ho sakta hai ki paanch saal baad, dus saal baad, panrah saal baad unki sugar fir se badd jaye per definitely agar hum aggressively manage kare, toh sugar ko hum bilkul normal level pe la sakte hain aur hamare bahut sare aise patients hain jinka humne sugar normal level pe le aayen hai jinki sugar ki dawaiyan, blood pressure ki dawaiyan sab hum band kar chuke hain, aur teen-teen char-char saal se woh aise hi follow kar rahe hain. Iska jo sabse important factor hota hai ki hame bahut aggressively weight reduced karna padta hai patient ka, jinka weight jyada hai aur uske liye bahut aggressive lifestyle changes aur kuch dawaniya hum use karte hain jo weight kam karne mein madat karti hain. Aur yadi hum yeah aggressively follow karte hain toh kaafi saare hamare patients hain jinki diabetes hum normal stage pe la sakte hain. Iska sabse bada fayda yeh Hai Ki yadi aapki diabetes paanch-dus saal ya pandra saal ke liye bhi tal jati hai, toh aane wale time mein sugar badti hai toh aap ki complication 15 se 20 ya 30 saal ke liye aage khisak jati hain jo ki aapke prime of life mein aap normal healthy life jeete hain aur complications ka risk bilkul aap ke 70, 80 saal ki age pe jake pahunch jata hai jo aapko bahut jyada pareshan nahi karta. Is liye bahut zaroori hai ki agar aap ki diabetes recent onset hai, bahut seriously iska ilaj kare or rivers karne ki bhi koshish kare agar kar sakte hain yadi aap iske baare mein hame contact karna chahte hain toh aap hame ya Lybrate ko contact kar sakte hain.

Leafy vegetables, such as swiss chard, cabbage and watercress, contain a small amount of msm. Raw vegetables contain a higher amount than cooked vegetables because heat causes some of the msm to volatilize. However, you still receive some when you eat cooked asparagus or beets. Those who like to eat alfalfa also receive msm when ingesting its nutritious leaves.

Hi, is due to your low immunity and poor hygiene, sometimes after proper hygiene also it may keep recurring which requires curative intervention, sometimes due to very strong tendency towards the problem it may he handled temporarily but then as soon as medicine effects go away it comes again. As your problem is recurring you can opt for homeopathic treatment so as to root it out completely without any side effects, for which you can consult me privately but meanwhille you can improve your diet and regimen as follows 1. Keep proper hygiene and change your undergarments for twice/day 2. Take bath for twice/day 3. Use cotton garments esp the under garments 4. Drink plenty of water, balanced diet like all fruits, vegetables and salads 5. Avoid being over weight as it may causes more perspiration and itching. 6. Do some physical and breathing exercises for atleast 30-40 mins to help to keep fit and improve your immunity.

The word fat in itself is very alarming. Body fat or weight is the topic of concern for most people today. Due to the lack of physical activities these day? s people tend to gain weight at a faster rate. Long working hours, which involves sitting in front of computers, have lead to the increase in belly size? pot belly? or? beer belly? are just few names with which it is known. Abdominal crunches? lay down flat on the floor? bend the knees with feet on the floor? place your hands by the side of your ears? take a deep breath? crunch up lifting the head and chest a bit. The aim is to try and touch the knees with the forehead. But do not try to do it in the first attempt. Give your body some time? now move down gradually, exhaling the air. Descending movement must be slower than the crunch up movement. Repeat the steps 5 to 10 times some tips? squeeze a lemon in a cup of warm water. Drink this water as soon as you get up in the morning. Drink lots of water throughout the day, keep yourself well hydrated? drink green tea in the morning. It has antioxidants that help the body to burn fat and detoxify. Eliminate all juice (except natural pomegranate juice) and soft drinks from your diet. Drink only 1 cup of coffee a day? avoid junk food at all cost? start exercising. Do hour to 45 minutes of cardio, preferably walking on an incline every day. Do light weight training for upper body three times a week? snack on a small amount of almonds (5 at a time) throughout the day (4 times a day maximum). Any queries inform me.

Hi here are some changes to make to improve your eating habits: - incorporate more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains into your diet while eliminating unhealthy foods. - if you are working or studying away from home, try to pack healthy lunch and snacks for yourself to avoid eating unhealthy food daily. - don't eat straight from the packet - use a plate or bowl to control how much you eat. - don't delay or skip meals. - cut down your consumption of aerated drinks and sodas. - drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. Drink water after waking up and before sleeping. Being dehydrated may make you feel like you're hungry, so it is important to stay hydrated. - have homemade fruit and vegetable juices - eat 5-6 small healthy meals every 2-3 hours, every day, instead of having a few big ones. This regulates your blood sugar level and your metabolism. - don't skip breakfast, instead, make it rich with complex carbohydrates and proteins, so it can provide you with energy to get through the day. Try to include the following as your morning breakfast, oats porridge, eggs on multigrain toast or daliya with sprouts. - avoid artificial sweeteners in processed foods. - eat slowly as it takes about 20 minutes for your brain to register if you're full or not. Eating too fast leads to overeating, so chew slowly to digest your food better and control how much you eat. - use a smaller plate to control your portion sizes and avoid overeating. - know your cravings and do not snack when you're emotional. It is said that you crave crunchy and savory food when you're stressed, frustrated or lonely. Figure out what you crave and replace them with healthier alternatives. - do not eat mindlessly; concentrate on your food instead of watching tv or playing with your phone to avoid overeating.

Yes it is! probably this is cervical factor infertility. You need to do a simple 7-14 day antibiotic course to finish the pelvic infection. Without that thin egg white discharge the sperms won't be able to climb up and reach the egg for pregnancy.

Diabetic Foot - How It Can Be Prevented?

MBBS, DNB (General Medicine)

Diabetic Foot - How It Can Be Prevented?

People who suffer from diabetes follow a strict diet and engage in strenuous exercises to stay healthy. However, most people tend to neglect a serious problem that may arise from diabetes. A condition known as diabetes foot may afflict your feet if proper care is not taken once diabetes is diagnosed. In fact, in severe cases, amputation may be the only way to treat diabetes foot.

How you can prevent diabetes foot
Here are some of the preventive measures you should adopt if you are suffering from diabetes and you want to avoid diabetes foot.

  1. Check your feet daily to see whether any crack or lesion has appeared. Check the sole of your foot too and around the ankles as well.
  2. Always keep your feet clean and free of dirt. The best way to do this is by using a soap and warm water. Apply a moisturizer once you are done cleaning them.
  3. Make sure that your shoes and footwear are appropriate. This means that they should not be too tight and neither should they be too loose. Ensure that your toes are not crammed into the shoe and that you can move them freely.
  4. Avoid smoking because cigarette smoke reduces blood circulation in the body. If the blood does not circulate properly, it may cause diabetes foot.
  5. Now that you know the preventative measures for the condition, you should also be aware of the treatment for the same.

Treatment for diabetes foot
Treatment for foot diabetes ulcers should be started as soon as the first symptoms appear or as soon as a qualified physician diagnoses the same. If left untreated, the disease can lead to further complication or even amputation of the limb. Here is a look at the viable ways of treating foot ulcers.

  1. Keep the ulcer region dry and covered at all times, in order to minimize the infection.
  2. Blood glucose levels must be regulated so that healing occurs naturally.
  3. Doctors may suggest topical ointments which must be applied daily to the wound.
  4. Soft and loose-fitting shoes should be worn, in case you are suffering from foot diabetes ulcers. This will prevent the wound from getting damaged.
  5. Patients are also advised to avoid walking too much before the ulcer has healed completely.

Consult a physician immediately if you feel some damage in your feet and you think that you may be afflicted with the ulcer in the feet. In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!
