As the doctor may have explained to you, the tenosynovitis is inflammation of the lining tissue around the tendon. If the cause was infection, then sometimes it is worth taking care of it surgically. The role of physiotherapy, medication or surgery depends on the cause, the severity of the condition and the affection of your activities.

Knee pain is a common complaint that affects people of all ages. Knee pain may be the result of an injury or some other medical conditions including arthritis, patellar tendinitis, acl injury, knee bursitis, torn meniscus, gout and infections. From your symptoms it seems like your wife developing osteo arthritis (oa) of knee. Try some home remedies for pain relief: -activities that cause pain should be avoided temporarily. -if the knee is swollen or sore, the following positions and activities should be avoided until knee pain and swelling resolve: squatting kneeling twisting and pivoting jogging aerobics, dancing playing sport -use hot or cold packs. By increasing blood flow, hot compresses can ease pain and stiffness. Cold compresses reduce swelling. You may want to experiment with heat versus cold packs to see what works best for you. -stay active, physical activity is one of the best ways to improve your quality of life. Exercise boosts your energy. It can also strengthen your muscles and bones, and help keep your joints flexible. Try resistance training to build stronger muscles. - quads strengthening exercises are helpful oa knee. She needs to reduce her weight as she is 90 kg. Consult a physiotherapist for detail assessment to find out the diagnosis and for pain management.

I have lower back pain mainly on the right and the left side of spine. But the pain is not present on the both the sides simultaneously but it switches sometimes from the right side to the left side or vice versa. If today's night it was on the right side then tomorrow it will be on the left side. It all occur due to lifting weights in the gym by doing squats and deadlifts. Could you please tell me the category of pain or injury? Should I do stretching and walking? How much time it will take to recover completely if it recovers completely?

Please take rest from weight lifting/going to gym for some time. Rather a morning walk will be ok. Also do an x-ray of the affected area. Also do hot and cold compress alternately till the time you get relief. Also take Mag Phos - twice daily for next 7 days. There is a muscular stretch it seems. The recovery time depends on your body-immunity. For further queries get back to me.

Hi I can understand your problem. # relax & stay positive. # take hot and cold fomentation. # learn posture care exercise. # use lumbar support. # take break every 20 minutes. # do strengthening exercise of back and core muscles not all back pains are same. Do share investigation reports if you have any.

Hello, first of all you should know what is backache and by which factors it caused and aggravated. The usual cause of low back pain is the sedentary lifestyle that we lead these days. There is hardly any movement. We remain seated most of the time and stand for very short periods of time. Unfortunately walking, running and cycling like activities are also not a part of our daily routine. To add to it, our diet consists more and more of junk food. Fresh fruits, vegetables and high fibre foods are consumed less and less. These daily practices lead to obesity. The increased body weight puts lot of pressure on the spine which has to bear all the extra unwanted weight. The back muscles which are already weak due to lack of exercise and wrong posture are unable to cope with this increased load. This causes pain in the back muscles. Management for Back Pain:-Along with medicines for relieving pain, one needs to identify the cause and correct it. This may require some medicines or some correction in your posture or reducing weight or improving your lifestyle. At the same time, there is a need to work on the local muscle strengthening. Back muscles need to be strengthened so that they can bear the weight of the upper body. For this exercises of the back muscles are very helpful. Regular walking is also very helpful as it is a wholesome exercise of the body, improves blood circulation and helps lose weight. Most importantly if you are overweight then losing weight is an important part of the whole treatment plan .Long term use of painkillers for low back pain is harmful Treatment for back pain:- Homeopathic medicines are very helpful. Backache is the commonest ailment. Do not worry, rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. Take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Do back (spine) exercises contact me again if need be. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do reply back for private consultation and detailed treatment plan.

My mom is suffering from knee pain and most of the doctors have advised knee replacement as the only option. I wish to know first is there any alternative to knee replacement surgery. yes there are alternatives available depending upon the degree of severity of arthritis, knee replacement expenses will be about MINIMUM 2.5-3 lakhs for both knee - it also depends upon the type of implant, 3 hours will be the time duration for operation, get a consultation with me to know more details

Since last 7-8 years in every summers during march to sept. My both feet are swelling & after taking a rest during nights & keep them high ten night I found them ok. Any problem. I am 51 years old male & having a long sitting job at duty.

Use pillows under your both legs while sleeping. Don't stand for too long periods. Get yourself screened up for cbc test, kft, lft as soon as possible.

Hi After high fiver there is a numbness in my left leg inside uo to ankel. Nurosergen gave me felicita -od and triplent 10 for one month od each after 10 days I feel no improvement advise that to do. I can walk but could climb stares by left feet. Please advise.

Kindly show me photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take biod3 max 1 tab dailyx10 paracetamol 250mg od & sos x5days do back (spine)/shoulder/knee exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do not ignore it. It could be beginning of a serious problem. If no relief in 4_5 days, then contact me again.

One of the reasons that insomnia is high stress levels and time pressures associated with modern living. Many people complain of insomnia, with stress during the day making them too tense or worried to be able to fall asleep at night. Lack of sleep, in turn, creates more stress on the job and at home. However, it is important to know at the outset that not all people require the same amount of sleep. Sleeping cycles vary among people and throughout a person’s life. Restful sleep is one of the three pillars of ayurvedic healing, the other two being diet and lifestyle. Causes: There are many causes that a person is not able to sleep properly. Insomnia mainly results due to mental disturbances. Any type of body pain, uncomfortable weather or surroundings, some disease also results in to insomnia. Overwork and extreme worries may also cause lack of sleep. People who have a history of improper digestion, constipation and habits of eating irregularly are Treatment of Insomnia: Some lifestyle changes and herbal medicines can help treat the problem. You can try these time-tested remedies: •- Do some exercise everyday—but never late in the evening. •- Avoid caffeine in all forms, especially after lunch time. •- Avoid taking naps during the day. •- Drink buffalo milk. It contains rich amounts of an amino acid, L-tryptophan, which induces sleep. •- Take a nice, long, warm bath before bed-time. Charaka Samhita says that bath is the best remedial measure to counteract exertion. •- Read a book or do some repetitive, calm activity such as chanting a mantra. Japa etc. •- Avoid distractions that may hold your attention and keep you awake, such as watching a suspense movie or a thrilling game, TV serials. •- Make your bedroom comfortable. Create a quiet, dark atmosphere. Use clean, fresh sheets and pillow and keep the room temperature comfortable. •- To balance Vata, gradually introduce regularity into your lifestyle. Eating, sleeping, working, and exercising at the same hours promotes harmony. By varying routines with the seasons, you can better adjust to changes in the environment and climate. Ayurvedic Herbs for Insomnia The useful herbs for the treatment of insomnia are:- Brahmi: It is a powerful brain tonic, which supports and improves all aspects of mental functioning. It is a calming and tranquillizing herb. A cup of brahmi tea or powder or any other preparation with brahmi, taken at bedtime, will induce a peaceful sleep and its regular use will help to cure insomnia. Aswagandha: This is an overall tonic for greater vitality and longevity. It enhances coordination between the mind and senses which, according to Ayurveda, is essential for good sleep. The recommended dose is half teaspoonful of powder taken at night along with sugar+ ghee or warm milk. Panchkarma Therapy for Insomnia Recommended Panchkarma are Shirobasti, Shirodhara, Nasya. Abhyangam- Body massage. Pada Abhyangam or Foot Massage with Ksheerabala oil provides relaxation to the body and mind helps good sleep.
