Hello lasik is very good option to get rid of glasses doctor will perform few tests (schirmer test, pentacam and fundus examination) and if all tests are normal then you can go for lasik surgery without fear. Success rate of lasik is over 96%. Side effects may vary from minimal like mild dryness, dalk, haloes, glare to severe like infection (very rare). Precaution include: a. Avoid face/head wash for 1 week b. Avoid swimming /water sports for 6 weeks c. Avoid eye make up for 6 weeks cost: depends on type of lasik which varies from 25000 for standard lasik to 1.10 lacs for smile lasik for more details, you can read my health tip on lasik.

Put rose water in eyes daily for 2 times and keep it closed for few mins. And get eye massage done every week once. So that the nerves and muscles around the eyes remains toned-up and your eye power will be maintained and will not get strained easily. Take care.:)

Eye movements and organic foods cannot increase your eyesight in a million years. Organic foods are though good for your health generally. Contact an eye surgeon in your area and take his opinion in case you need glasses.

Hello. I think you have allergic conjunctivitis. 1. Eye allergies, called allergic conjunctivitis, are a common condition that occurs when the eyes react to something that irritates them (called an allergen). 2. The eyes produce a substance called histamine to fight off the allergen. As a result, the eyelids and conjunctiva (the thin, filmy membrane that covers the inside of your eyelids) become red, swollen and itchy, with tearing and burning. The key to treating eye allergies is a. Avoid or limit contact with the substance causing the problem. B. Avoid rubbing eyes instead do cold compresses. C. Use antiallergic eyedrop like olopat eyedrop twice daily d. Lubricating eyedrop like flogel thrice daily e. Use mild steroid like flurisone in pulse dose in severe allergy this will help you I am very sorry dear to say that there is no medicine that can cure allergy. Only way is to stay away from all those things that you are allergic to.

Lasik is a simple laser procedure which changes the shape of the cornea so that the light rays fall on the retina properly. It is a painless procedure. It is a day care procedure does not require any injections, does not require admission, you can simply resume your duties in 2 days. Cost varies from centre to centre. Side effects are usually limited to dryness of eyes for few months. We can do lasik anytime after age of 18 years. You need to undergo proper prelasik checkup to decide whether lasik is safe for you or not.

Eye strain, or asthenopia, is when the eyes get tired from excessive or intense use. It can be annoying, but it tends to disappear with rest. Although it’s not often a serious condition, eye strain could be a symptom of an underlying problem. Eye strain is known to cause fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and headaches Eye strain may lead to other problems, such as: • Headaches • Difficulty Concentrating • Irritability • Burning Sensation • Watery Eyes • Dry Eyes • Photophobia • Eye Pain 1. The first thing you can do is change your environment and work habits. By doing this you can relieve the pain without spending money on treatment. If you work on the computer, try taking more eye breaks by looking down the hall or out the window, or by closing your eyes for thirty seconds. You should get your eyes checked at least once a year, especially as you grow older. Routine eye exams give you the opportunity to discuss with your Eye Specialist any issues you may be having, and they may enable you to catch any problems in their early stages. Age Frequency 0 to 6 months Minimum of once a year 6 months to 18 years Every 2 – 4 years 19 to 39 years Every 3 – 5 years 40 to 64 years Every 2 – 4 years 65 and older Every 1 – 2 years If you spend a lot of time sitting in front of a computer or reading, you may need prescription glasses solely for those activities. Prevention of Eyes From Straining If you work on a computer, taking eye breaks for five minutes every hour can lessen the strain on your eyes. Try standing up, moving around, or taking a short walk to help regain concentration.Regular eye exercises that involve focusing on different distances can help prevent future straining. Blink often. Prolonged working on laptop/TV can cause computer vision syndrome. Computer vision syndrome is a condition resulting from focusing the eyes on a computer or other display device for, uninterrupted periods of time. Some symptoms of cvs include headaches, blurred vision, neck pain, redness in the eyes, fatigue, eye strain, dry eyes, irritated eyes. These symptoms can be further aggravated by improper lighting conditions. Measure sto reduce this include work under proper light. r. Blink a lot. Cold compresses and use good lubricating eyedrop. I would advise you to maintain good posture while working on computer. Keep your back n neck straight and in perfect alignment and also buy a chair which can support your back when you work on computer.

8 Home Tips To Keep Your Eyesight Perfect!

Problems in vision are a common occurrence these days; various factors such as spending a lot of time looking at smartphones and computers are a major cause of these problems. There are various natural remedies which can help you improve your eyesight, they are:

  1. Wash, especially after coming back from outside, your eyes regularly: Washing your eyes regularly with water helps in clearing out debris from the eyes and relaxing the eye muscles. 
  2. Eat Healthy: Eating a healthy diet that has lots of fruits and vegetables are good for the eyes as they contain important nutrients such as vitamin A. You should include foods such as carrots, fish oil, cabbage and eggs in your diet. 
    1. Carrots: Carrots are a good source of phosphorus, calcium, vitamin A and iron which are very good for your eyesight. You may consume carrot in the form of juices or salads. 
    2. Almonds and other nuts:Nuts such as almonds and walnuts are rich in antioxidants which are beneficial for the eyes. 
  3. Walk barefoot: Walking barefoot on green grass is therapeutic for your eyes as it enhances your eye power. It is recommended you walk early in the morning to get maximum benefits.
