I want to do my vagina tighten what should I do and how much it will cost and for how many days rest is required? What are the risks? Kindly guide.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
For tightening the vagina, vaginoplasty is a minor surgery done on a day care basis. The dissolvable stitches are used to tighten vagina. There are no risks of vaginoplasty, and is always without any complications. The recovery time is less than a day. After the operation, the patient can return to work next day and complete healing takes approximately 6-8 weeks. Hospital stay is only 5-6 hrs. Cost of the surgery for sharing class 35k and for special room 50k, which includes all costs.

I am 33 years old, in my 17th week of pregnancy, I did my blood test and found that my Rbc is 4 (normal range starts from 4.5) my hemoglobin is 12%. Is it ok or the Ebc count is a concern?

Homeopath, Anand
Don't worry. During pregnancy little bit RBC count decreases as the baby inside is growing. Your Hb is good so just enjoy your pregnancy and eat nutritive food. Drink lots of water.

Novelon 21 day pill from june. Missed second last doubled with the last, break of 6 days from 2-7 july. Menses from 5-7july. New pack from 8th july. Protected intercourse but condom used thrice on 9th july (first timw intercourse) Next fully protected on 14th july (last intercourse) Missed 21st july pill doubled 22nd july night. Light bleeding on 22nd july morning (breakthrough bleed or implantation bleed?) Pill ended on 28th july menses from 1-6 aug. Negative hpt at 4,5,6,7,8,11,12 weeks all negative hpt done with first morning urine with different brands. No pills or intercourse after 1-6aug. Periods due on 1st sept as it dint came did a usg and hcg beta on 8th sept (10 weeks from first and 9 weeks from last intercourse) Hcg was 0.11 and usg shows pcod (no mention of pregnancy) Dr. Prescribed deviry 2 tab for 5 days for withdrawal bleed. But after taking just a single dose bleeding started from 11-16th sept. It was heavy. On 21st july morning when I woke up I can feel my pelvic bone in the front (can it be due to exercises like crunches leg rise etc with weight loss? I was 72 in july 70 in aug and now I am almost 68 kgs) and after continuous touching I made it hurt. Scared went for usg on 21st sept (12 weeks ftom first and 11 weeks from lasr intercourse) Usg only showed bulky ovaries with pcod. I asked him if my uterus was normal he said its absolutely normal. Usg was transabdominal. Hpt with first morning urine on 13 weeks was also negative. My period was due on 11th october it has not occur yet. Is their any risk of pregnancy even though no intercourse after july n got 6 day bleeding twice. Do I need to take deviry again for withdrawal bleeding or will I wait? Moreover m having dark patches over the skin and sometime shortness of breath. N having egg white cervical mucus throughout the cycle. M I 100% safe from pregnancy?

After doing a detailed study of your mentioned reports I can conclude that there is no pregnancy. Delayed periods r due to pcod. U do not need to take divert. Intact avoid any type of hormonal therapy in future. Let your reproductive system work naturally .hope I answered your query. If you have any more concern you can msg on my consult.

I used to have three days period but this month I had one day period. M very worried. Age is 39 married. Is there any problem?

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda, Ernakulam
Hello lybrate-user, if the one day period was with good amount of bleeding, please wait for next cycle also to come, that means wait till next month periods. If the one day period was just spotting, go for a urine pregnancy test at home, if it comes negative, then also wait for a month for next cycle to come. If it's positive, do meet a gynaecologist.

Hello doctor, I am 21 years old. I am experiencing a pain in my lower abdomen right side for about 2 weeks now. I got my ultrasound done, and the impression is I have a cyst in right ovary (size 51 into 40 mm). My periods are regular, I got my last period on 6th of june 2016 and this month , I have not get my periods yet. I want to ask, is this cyst a matter of worry , how can this be removed? How much time will it take to get removed?

MBBS, MS - Obstetrics & Gynecology, Fellowship in Infertility (IVF Specialist)
Gynaecologist, Aurangabad
Hi, cyst is responsible for irregular periods and hormonal imbalance. Please get colour doppler done to rule out malignancy. Cyst can be treated with medication to be decided after doppler report.

My wife is 2 months 3 days pregnant and she eat food and have vomiting and she has stomach pain is this is common.

B.Sc.(Hons), P.G.Dietetics
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Gurgaon
Hello lybrate-user, It is very common for pregnant women to vomit or have nausea during first 3 -4 months of pregnancy. For few women, vomiting and nausea feeling is throughout the pregnancy also. To deal with this, ask her to have small and frequent meals. She can have small things to eat after every 2 hours. Include fruits, protein foods like milk, paneer, moong dal, eggs or little non-veg in her diet with rice or roti whichever she feels good to eat and digest. She should not eat heavy meals.

Tongue Diseases and Disorders Explained with Pictures

Tongue Diseases and Disorders Explained with Pictures

It can be very uncomfortable when you experience tongue problems.

For clues about problems in your mouth, stick out your tongue and look in the mirror.

A healthy tongue should be pink and covered with small nodules (papillae).

Any deviation from your tongue’s normal appearance, or any pain, may be cause for concern.

Most conditions are not serious, though some tongue problems can be a sign of oral cancer or other more serious problems.

Leukoplakia, thrush, and lichen planus are characterized by white patches on the tongue. A red tongue can be a sign of geographic tongue, scarlet fever, Kawasaki syndrome, or a vitamin deficiency.

Tongue movement problems are most often caused by nerve damage.

Rarely, problems moving the tongue may also be caused by a disorder where the band of tissue that attaches the tongue to the floor of the mouth is too short. This is called ankyloglossia.

Tests never show the reason behind the diseases it only shows the disease like increase in uric acid, increase in hemoglobin likewise. We should try to know the reasons behind the diseases not why these increased or decreased.

The types of tongue and the problems related to them will be shown in the video briefly.

  • Tongue (Human Sense Organ)
  • Normal Tongue
  • White patched Tongue
  • Rough Tongue
  • Flabby Tongue
  • Furrowed Tongue
  • Cut Chapped Tongue
  • Swollen Darkened Tongue
  • Centrally Cut Tongue
  • Dark Black Spotted Tongue
  • White Coated Chapped Tongue
  • Lime White Paste Tongue

Stricture does not occur always after cystoscopy. It only occurs after about 1-2 months if the procedure has been difficult.

If you pregnant, you need to go for abortion for which it is recommended to visit a gynaecologist for advise. No abortion medicine should be consumed of your own as these can be dangerous and need to be taken under medical supervision only.

After having sex does the time of period changes or it remain same? If it happens then what's the reason behind it?

MBBS, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Gurgaon
After sex, especially if I had been a first time the dates alter a bit due to stress harmones, or due to biological changes, and also if she gets pregnant obviously then the dates are missed.
