Have severe leg pain over the thigh can't walk. Sometimes properly, can not come down the stairs, have yo use only one leg, leg feels very heavy at times, pains a lot can not walk for longer time please tell the reason also for this. Pain in very helpless.

i am jogging daily from past 18 months approx.4km daily. now my knee joint is paining after joging.my weight is 105kg right now and when i started it was122kg. when i stopped runnnig from at 2weeks my pain has gone but when i started running again it came back.what precautions should itake???

Pain in back or pain that starts from your back and side, and move towards the groin or testicles indicates kidney stone pain. Pain increases while you walk fast, climb stairs, running. Jumping or any such activity that strain. In addition to pain you may suffer from urine problem like frequent urge to urinate. Some times nausea, vomitting also. If you are suffering from such pain then yes it is kidney stone. Would request you to go for urine test and ultrasound to diagnose the size of stone and then according to that you can go for your treatment. If not then it is your postural back pain. You can take hot fermentation at home thrice a day for 10-15 minutes along with some back strengthening and hamstring stretching exercises to get it cure. Hope this answer your question. Hello. We can't reverse the established pathology back, but we can control the process in the stage it is so that it wouldn't grow further. Apply Bakson’s Rheum Aid oil gently (2-3 times a day) and take orally Bakson’s Rheum-Aid syrup/ 1 tablespoon thrice daily. Also, increase your dietary intake of calcium which is present in green leafy vegetables, milk, milk products, sea food, white legumes, dried fig, black-eyed peas, almonds, oranges, seasame seeds. And vitamin D which is essential for absorption of calcium in our body and is synthesized naturally after getting exposed to sunlight, so early morning sunlight for 10-15min. 2-3 times a day is mandatory. Apart from this, do walk daily along with physiotherapy will also help you.

I Have a pain at the ligament of my left knee. It aggravate sometimes when heavy pressure is given on my left leg.How can I get rid of it, so that I can carry on my regular physical exercises & works too.

This could be due to oa knee. Physiotherapy along with medicines will help. Do knee exercises. It may have to be further investigated rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with a soft bedding on it. Any way take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do reply back for private consultation and detailed treatment plan.

I can understand after reading your query that you are having a radiating kind of pain in your leg region. This would normally indicate some impingement of nerve or narrowing of your lower spinal canal. I would also like to ask you the duration of such pain and whether your pain increases on walking, or if it is associated with any other neurological symptoms like numbness, paraesthesias (electrical shock like abnormal sensations) or any weakness in limbs. Please also tell me about any associated symptoms like fever, weight loss etc. What medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem. I am 36 years old volleyball player, now to much pain in backache and both knees from past three years. Doing regularly physiotherapy and ift from 20 days.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You have mentioned backache and pain in knees as your problem. If you have only localized backache with no other associated symptoms like radiating leg pain, numbness, paresthesias etc, and no systemic symptoms like fever, loss of appetite, loss of weight etc, my advice to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - to maintain proper posture while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or even tab paracetamol which suits you - intensive physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied 3-4 times in a day - analgesic spray for local application like dynapar qps spray can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc if you do not improve in 2-3 weeks with this conservative management, we will need to evaluate you further in form of dynamic x rays for back and relevant knee x rays as well to look for any instability as a cause for pain and some blood investigations to rule out any deficiencies etc. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. If there is only pain with no associated s/s of ant inflammation or infection like swelling, skin redness, local warmth etc and there is no h/o any injury to your knee, I will advise initially for conservative management for 2-3 weeks - start with intensive knee physical therapy with a physiotherapist - ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre activity warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - we will get some blood tests for you - serum vitamin d and serum potassium levels, esr and crp do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day.

Hello Start physiotherapy treatment and learn posture care/ spine exercise. Meanwhile take few precautions. 1)Take hot water fomentation for 20 min. at every 3hrs. interval. 2) Do not lift heavy weights or twist your spine 3)Do not wear high heals Do not ignore your back pain and do reply for private consultation and detailed treatment plan. Hunching over a desk is a leading reason why people end up with crippling back pain at some point in their lives. But a few simple changes in the way you work can make your pain go away. 1-Keep your head up; Focus on aligning your head and neck right above your shoulders; avoid straining forward. 2-Be choosy with your chair: Pick one that allows your lower back to rest against a lumbar support. Then tilt the back of the chair so it’s very slightly reclined. 3-Plant your feet: Keep them flat on the floor and shoulder-width apart to quiet tension in your knees and ankles. 4-Take breaks: Getting up at least once an hour— just do some shoulder rolls—reduces pressure on spinal disks and boosts circulation. If your back pain is severe please go to a Physiotherapist for detail assessment and management of your pain. Best wishes.

Requires examination and investigation in detail. Presently investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d xray of the affected part. Anyway you may try sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head do hot fomentation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform

She is delaying her periods from a week and having problem like back ache and very frequent she goes to washroom. She has tested for pregnancy using Prega news and test shows -ve. Pregnancy test should be done only after 7 days of missed period. So if it was expected on 3 march then it should be done on 12 march (added 2 days for the feb). If negative then keep repeating it every week till menses comes. You have to read it within 5 min of putting the urine and even faint second line is positive. Also as you r having backache, that means most probably menses r going to come soon. Also symptoms of pregnancy will appear only after 2 weeks of missed period.

Hello, Lower back pain since a week, requires investigation. I would suggest you to first give her hot water fomentation after applying volini gel. It Shud help her get rid of her pain. If she gets gud relief with above simple technique then no investigation required. You can also give her combiflam to help her with her pain. If still she gets pain then better get a xray spine done. I hope you get relief and do not require any further investigation. Tk care.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

I am hvng cubital tunnel syndrome in left hand (ulnar neuropathy). Kindly please tell how long it takes to heal I mean how many months without surgery bcz I am hvng relief its quite better den earlier. Its been 2 months ago I came to know dat. Consult an orthopaedic doctor. Usually avoiding lifting,too much of elbow use is avoided .a splint may be used to keep elbow straight.avoid pressure on elbow on desktop . Spontaneous nerve healing occurs in few weeks or even 2 to 3 months,if not decompression of ulnar nerve at elbow is done. Tingling in ring and little finger may last long,physiotherapy exercises help. Electrophysiological study is sometimes advisable for knowing severity of conduction defects and earlier transposition nerve surgery.if improving, may wait and watch. Take methycobalamin if advised by your doctor
