sunlight damages skin, it's color and texture. Uv rays enter even through the window. So make sure to use sunscreen everytime both inside and outside. Avoid cosmetics. Use cold water to wash face with a mild cleanser. Remove soap from your armamentarium. Make sure to have plenty of tomatoes and oranges. Vitamin c supplements vil help you. It's very important to b stress free. Don't use scrubs for your face, it'll grow more dark. Apply melacare plus cream twice daily over the black spots.

Some tips for you post dermapen - 1.5 days after your treatment do not use retin-a, retinoids, or similar vitamin a compounds, harsh scrubs or exfoliating products and bleaching creams, unless instructed otherwise by your provider. 2. Avoid tanning or prolonged sun exposure 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after treatment. Sun may cause adverse reactions, as well as make your pigmentation worse. 3. Apply sunscreen every 2 hours - you can use sunscreen - sunprotek by salve pharma. 4. Avoid sweating. 5. Clean your face the next day with a gentle cleanser like nivea. 6. Apply oil free moisturiser like neutrogena oil free.

How to sleep? Though I have dark circles under my eyes I am unable to sleep. I don't take any sedatives nor do I drink alcohol. I have one cup of coffee in the morning and one cup tea in the evening. Yet I am unable to sleep in the nights. I keep tossing and turning and all sorts of thoughts keep coming into my mind and keep me awake until 5-5: 30 am. This has been happening for the past week or so.

Hello doctor. I have dark circles below my eyes. How can I get rid of it? Can you plzz suggest some home remedies.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Homoeopathic treatment UNDER EYE CREAM ( BAKSON) Apply at night under the eye in circular fashion GLOWCARE DROPS ( LORDS) 20 drops in 20 ml freh water 3 times daily Take a good Iron rich diet likeApple,Pomegranate,Spinach nd all other green vegetables 2 glass milk daily 6-8 glass extra water daily Try to have a sound sleep HOME REMEDIES Slice up a papaya. Papaya fruit contains the enzyme papain. Papain helps exfoliate the skin, making way for new skin cells to emerge. Papaya also contains Vitamin C and Vitamin E, so it's a dark spot fading superstar. Papain is most concentrated while the papaya is still green, but you can use riper fruit as well. Peel and remove the seeds from a papaya, and try one of the following treatments: 1. Slice a piece off of the papaya, and lay or hold it on the dark spots that you want to get rid of. Hold it there for 20-30 minutes. Repeat twice a day for best results. 2.Make a papaya facial mask. Cut the papaya into chunks, then use a blender or food processor to blend the fruit into a smooth paste. Apply the mask to your face and neck. Leave it on for about 30 minutes, then rinse well.

My lips are getting darker day by day. I am not drinking so much of coffee or tea and also I am not using so much cosmetics every day. So what is the solution for it?

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

Take a thin slice of lemon, sprinkle a bit of sugar on top and rub it on your lips. It will exfoliate dead cells so new, fresh skin can appear. Use this remedy daily for a few weeks

I have dark circles on my eyes. I tried many homemade remedies but of no use. What should I do?

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda, Bangalore
Hi lybrate-user. Here are some of the most common causes of true under-eye circles. 1. Allergies 2. Atopic dermatitis (eczema) 3. Contact dermatitis 4. Fatigue 5. Heredity — dark under-eye circles can run in families 6. Pigmentation irregularities — these are a particular concern for people of color, especially blacks and Asians 7. Rubbing or scratching your eyes 8. Sun exposure, which prompts your body to produce more melanin, the pigment that gives skin its color 9. Thinning skin and loss of fat and collagen — common as you age — can make the reddish-blue blood vessels under your eyes more obvious. Medication:- 1. Massage in a circular motion with Tavishi oil regulary twice a day. 2. Apply sumukha facepack regularly with honey. Tips:- 1. Get your beauty sleep. 2. Eat well. 3. Regularly undergo meditation and perform exercise.

Your skin will be healthy and the face will be bright once you maintain healthy life style and disciplined habits. *.Take nutritious and timely food. *.Avoid fried foods and eat fruits, nuts, pulses, greens, milk and whole grains *.Drinking lots of water is good. Keep hydrated by drinking water and preferring juicy fruits. *.Have timely and adequate sleep. Your body will be fresh after good night sleep. *.Be relaxed and avoid tension *.Daily jogging or such exercise to ensure good blood circulation which helps nutrients reaching the skin and all parts of body. *You may apply lemon and honey to the face. Let it dry and wash it off. Lemon has good cleansing effect. This has to be done frequently for good result. *Facial massage will also promote good circulation. *.Don’t expose to hot direct sun. Wear cap, full sleeve shirt and shoes which will protect you from sun. Generally 10 AM to 4 PM is the hottest. Avoid exposure at that time. *. Know How Healthy Skin can be Maintained

Know How Healthy Skin can be Maintained

Healthy skin is a sign of overall good health and vitality. Skin problem is one of the most persistent problems encountered by people. It is imperative therefore that you take care of your skin to avoid skin disorders. Various factors such as pollution, smoking, eating processed food and a sedentary lifestyle contribute to unhealthy skin. There are certain habits which can be followed by you on a regular basis to restore the health of your skin. Some of them are-

  1. Exercise regularly: Exercising on a regular basis improves your skin health as it increases blood circulation in the body. Consequently, it helps in delivering various nutrients to the skin which in turn defers aging. Daily exercises also prevent the onset of various skin disorders.
  2. Keeping it clean: You should keep your skin clean to prevent the buildup of dirt. This prevents clogging of the pores and enables the skin to breathe. Daily bathing is necessary to avoid build up of microorganisms.
  3. Intake of vitamin C in various forms: Vitamin C is used in the collagen production process by amino acids. One of the most convenient ways of maintaining the glow of your skin is to introduce fruits and vegetables which are rich in vitamin C.
  4. Quit smoking: The pursuit of healthy skin necessitates immediate disengagement with smoking. This fatal habit should be avoided at all cost, as it triggers and facilitates the aging process. It also aggravates the production of free radicals in the skin which in turn adversely affects the skin.
  5. Less exposure to the sun: Exposure to ultraviolet rays of the sun may damage the collagen structure of the skin. It also causes tanning and increases your chance of developing skin cancer. Consuming excessive sweets leads to increase in acne & obesity related skin issues.
  6. Avoid sweet food: Consumption of sweets may lead to the formation of various substances which threaten to damage the collagen structure and subsequently aggravates the aging process.
  7. Antioxidants: Fruits and leafy vegetables are generally packed with antioxidants. A potential damage of the skin can be deterred by including them in the diet.
  8. Massage: Skin massages facilitate blood circulation on the skin and eradicates the damaging effect of the free radicals. This ensures that you have healthy and refreshed skin.
  9. Plant proteins: The level of oestrogen falls drastically in women after menopause, leading to the development of wrinkles.Food such as soy, nuts and beans minimise this effect by replenishing the level of oestrogen in the body and therefore must be incorporated in the diet. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dermatologist.

Hello, pimple scars can be removed easily by use of ayurvedic medicines, try amba haldi powder with milk on affected area, it will surely help you, but first recurrence of pimples should be stopped, for that a) go to bed early b) avoid spicy and junk diet c) if you have any digestion problems then get rid of that.

I had some skin problem on my face what should I do some part of my face is feeling red?

MBBS, Diploma In Dermatology And Venerology And Leprosy (DDVL)
Dermatologist, Raigarh
PIMPLE Never pick or pop pimples with your fingers, as it can lead to infection and scarring. A dietary therapy with the right medications for pimples can also help a lot. Kojic acid (a natural skin lightener derived from mushroom extract), arbutin (also called bearberry extract), and vitamin C (ascorbic acid) are great alternative ingredients to lighten scars left by acne. Don't use vitamin E on scars. You may have heard that applying vitamin E to a scar will help it heal faster. But according to a study , applying the nutrient directly onto a scar can actually hinder its healing

I am a fair skin toned 18 year old girl. Past one month I have depigmentation problems in my chin area. Can I use a BAN A TAN cream on my face. This cream worked for my knee depigmentation. Or please suggest some other creams.

MBBS, MD-DNB
Dermatologist, Mumbai
Hi. Banatan cream is used for hyper pigmentation that means excess pigment not depigmentation which means loss of pigmentation. So I am not sure what exactly do you suffer from. Please meet a dermatologist instead of self medication.
