Hi lybrate-user, Sore throat is usually accompanied by pain. Here are a few steps that you may follow in general to either cure or avoid getting sore throat. Try avoiding constipation at all costs. (a) Healthy & balanced diet with focus on fresh fruits/ leafy greens. Avoid yellow banana. (b) Consume flesh foods in moderation. (c) Take plenty of water daily and stay hydrated. (d) Regularize life style, reduce stress/ strain. (e) Protect yourself from intense heat/ cold air. (f) Do not take extremely hot/ cold/ spicy/ sour drinks as well as foods. (g) Warm saline gargling 2 - 3 times daily. (h) Gargle made of Tulsi, Cinnamon, Turmeric or Fenugreek seeds and honey are also beneficial. (i) Avoid overcrowded places. Hope this helps. Should you still not feel well, you can meet up an ENT specialist in person, who can clinically examine your throat once and recommend further treatment as would deem appropriate. Do take care and all the very best. Sincerely,

You maybe suffering from allergic rhinitis and pharyngitis. You need to avoid the cause of your allergies and also take anti allergy medications. Please consult for prescription. If you have an infection and have fever you will need to do a course of antibiotics. For now do warm saline gargle and steam inhalation 3 times a day.

Relieve Nasal Congestion by Simple Ways

Breathe Easy: 6 Natural Remedies to relieve Nasal Congestion

Everyone knows how annoying a stuffy nose can be. The difficulty in breathing even affects your sleep and day to day work. Nasal passages are blocked when the virus causing cold leads to inflammation of the tissues in the nasal cavity. Thankfully there are some simple and non-expensive home remedies that can be used to relieve a blocked nose.

Here are some natural remedies to get rid of nasal congestion during winter months:

1. Garlic :

Garlic is useful in relieving a blocked nose. In addition, it’s anti-bacterial and anti-fungal nature helps to fight with cold virus. You can either chew on 2-3 cloves of whole garlic or boil the cloves in one cup of water and drink the concoction.

2. Apple cider vinegar:

In addition to numerous other health benefits, apple cider vinegar can also help relieve a blocked nose. Mix two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and one teaspoon honey in a cup of water. Drink this at least 2-3 times a day to clear congestion.

3. Tulsi:

Basil or tulsi is also a great treatment for blocked nose. You can chew on a few leaves at night before going to sleep and in the morning. It is a very effective solution for not only relieving congestion but also to treat other conditions of cold like sore throat and cough.

4. Eucalyptus oil:

Eucalyptus oil is highly beneficial for those suffering from nasal congestion due to its decongestant and anti-inflammatory properties. Put one or two drops of eucalyptus essential oil in a fresh handkerchief and inhale the aroma. Do this few times a day. Alternatively, you can add a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil on your pillow so you can get the benefits of this oil while sleeping.

5. Methi seeds:

Methi is a very good natural ingredient to treat nasal congestion, thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties. It also helps to cleanse the mucous membranes. The heat and moisture from methi tea will help in thinning of mucus.

Mix one or two teaspoons of crushed methi seeds in a glass of water. Boil the solution. Strain and drink it while it is warm. Repeat two or three times a day until you get complete relief from the problem.

6. Lemon tea:

A tea made of hot water, lemon, and honey is one of the best stuffy nose relievers and you should try it if you’re looking to quickly get rid of a stuffy nose. To make this simple tea, just boil a cup of water, add the juice from one fresh lemon, and mix in two tablespoons of honey. Drink this up as many times a day as you would like to get rid of your stuffy nose and help you feel better.

So, go ahead and try these effective remedies to breathe easy this winter season. Stay healthy, stay happy!

I am 53 year old man. Doctor detected an ulcer at food pipe through endoscopy. Medicine is running. Pl suggest about diet & others.

I am 53 year old man. Doctor detected an ulcer at food pipe through endoscopy. Medicine is running. Pl suggest about ...
When you have an esophageal or food pipe ulcer, you need to follow a low-fat diet. Fat in food delays stomach emptying and decreases pressure in the lower esophageal sphincter, or les, which is the valve that separates your stomach and your esophagus. Both of these issues increase the risk of acid reflux and esophageal irritation. A low-fat diet for esophageal ulcers means limiting your intake of fried foods, high-fat meats such as bacon, high-fat desserts, and added fat such as oil and butter. It also helps if you eat small, frequent meals throughout the day to limit stomach pressure and possible reflux. Foods to eat: Your esophageal reflux diet should include a variety of things from all the food groups: fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean sources of protein and low-fat dairy products. Eating an array of healthy foods ensures that your body gets all the nutrients, it needs to promote healing and overall good health. If you experience pain when swallowing, be sure to chew your food thoroughly. If that doesn't help, you may benefit from eating softer or pureed foods, such as stewed meats, mashed potatoes, soft-cooked rice or pasta, soft-cooked vegetables, ripe bananas and applesauce. Foods not to take: In addition to fat, certain foods also increase the risk of acid reflux. To minimize esophageal discomfort, you may need to limit these foods in your diet. Chocolate contains methylxanthine, a substance that reduces les pressure. Coffee, both caffeinated and decaffeinated, may increase reflux and irritation. Mint, carbonated beverages, acidic foods and alcohol also can aggravate reflux. Whether you should include these foods in your diet depends on your individual tolerance. Watch those calories: Being overweight or obese also increases the risk of reflux and irritation of esophageal ulcers. Limiting your calorie intake to lose weight may also help alleviate symptoms. Your calorie needs for weight loss -- which range from 1, 000 to 1, 600 calories a day -- depend on your age, gender and activity level. Your doctor can help you determine how many calories you need to lose weight and help improve symptoms related to an esophageal ulcer.

Relaxation is the key. Lie on a bed, stomach down, with head turned and arms hanging over the side. Take a deep breath, hold it for 10 to 15 seconds, exhale slowly. After a few repeats, rest for several minutes before you get up. • If you can elicit the help of your partner, stand against the wall and ask your partner to place a fist lightly in the soft area just under your breastbone. Take a few deep breaths, and on the last one, exhale completely. Your partner should then press gently but firmly to help expel air from your lungs.

Cholesterol level should be measured at least once every five years in everyone over age 20. The screening test that is usually performed is a blood test called a lipid profile. Experts recommend that men ages 35 and older and women ages 45 and older be more frequently screened for lipid disorders. The lipoprotein profile includes: Total cholesetrol LDL (low-density lipoprotein CHOLESETROL also called "bad"CHOLESTETROL HDL (high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, also called "good" cholesterol) TRIGLYCERIDES (fats carried in the BLOOD from the food we eat. Excess calories, alcohol, or sugar in the body are converted into TRIGLYCERIDES and stored in fat cells throughout the body. High triglycerides and cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney.
