currently there is no treatment for retinitis pigmentosa.. however it is under research. you also need to regularly get your eyes tested for any associated problems like cataract, glaucoma or macular problems which are treatable

Is there any way to remove eye no. Without any treatment. Can it be removed with eating some vegetable or fruits? And also what to eat to make eye strong.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Lutein and zeaxanthin are both important nutrients for eye health, 6 as both of them are found in high concentrations in your macula—the small central part of your retina responsible for detailed central vision. More specifically, lutein is also found in your macular pigment – known for helping to protect your central vision and aid in blue light absorption—and zeaxanthin is found in your retina. Estimated daily dose of lutein is 10 mg per day, and at 2 mg/day for zeaxanthin. Both lutein and zeaxanthin are primarily found in green leafy vegetables, although zeaxanthin is far scarcer than lutein. Kale and spinach are two of the most lutein-rich foods, but you'll also find it in carrots, squash, and other orange and yellow fruits and vegetables. Both lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids called xanthophylls, which give plants and vegetables their yellow-orange color, and the name" lutein" comes from the Latin word" luteus, which means" yellow. If you remember this, it may help you pick out vegetables that are likely to contain higher amounts of these two nutrients. Egg yolk is another source of both lutein and zeaxanthin that is well absorbed by your body Most of the dark green leafy vegetables, previously recommended for a higher intake of lutein and zeaxanthin, have 15-47 percent of lutein, but a very low content (0-3 percent) of zeaxanthin. Study shows that fruits and vegetables of various colors can be consumed to increase dietary intake of lutein and zeaxanthi It is also important to note that lutein is an oil-soluble nutrient, so if you eat the vegetables without some oil or butter your body can't absorb the lutein. Adding a little bit of healthy fat, such as olive oil, coconut oil, or raw organic butter, will maximize your lutein absorption. An hour or two is the maximum time you should allow your child to watch television, use computers, tablet devices and play video games as excessive involvement with all kinds of electronic equipments will make him obese and damage his eyesight.

Sir, my problem is i am unable to see long things clearly, long means about 200Mtrs because of sight, so how overcome this problem.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Normal vision, often called "20/20" vision, means that you can see clearly objects that are 20 feet away.So if you cant see object nearly 200M away doesnot means that you have weak eyes.

I am 28 year old male. I have low eye sight in my both eyes [L: -13.50 Syl 1.75 R: -11: 00 Syl 1.00]. I consulted about this to the doctor. The doctor advised me for ICL. I have a few question in my mind before operating ICL. 1. Is it for life time? 2. What is the success percentage in India? 3. After ICL operation doctors give some precautions to the patient, but my question is here that this is only precautions I have to taken or this is for life time? What is your suggest about ICL.

I am 31 years old male. I am suffering from weird problem since last two and half years. In the beginning, whenever I used to go out for work or anything within hour and so my eyes used to become heavy and tired. I noticed that on sunny day eyes use to hurt more. Gradually, problem became more prominent and used to hurt eyes more often even while working at home. Sometimes, I just couldn't concentrate on anything I am doing at that moment. Even after taking a good night sleep upon waking next morning I used to feel problem still not gone. I visited few doctors and all of them said there's nothing wrong with eyes, even eyesight has not changed (I wear glasses, Left Cyl -1, Right Cyl -1.75). They just gave lubricant for dry eyes, which I took from time to time. I felt so helpless and surprised that what is actually my problem? I have started to become used to this problem so that I could get back to my life normally. After couple of years now this eye problem has become lot more severe. Whenever I go to a place where rapid eye movement, for eg mall, public event etc, problem initiates and it becomes extremely difficult to react to people and activities. Eyes feel extremely strained even while talking to and concentrating on person standing next to me. Nowadays, whole day I feel my eyes are strained no matter what I do. It becomes very difficult to do multi-tasking activities, for eg office offline and online work, cooking etc. It becomes foggyhearing and seeing coordination hampers. I have even did "Pen-Point" concentration exercise time to time. Initially it used to help but it no more helps now. This weird problem has taken a lot of toll on my day to day life. Somebody please help.

Ophthalmologist, Ghaziabad
Your history suggests problem of dry Eye for which you have already been treated but that has not helped you. Another thing which you should do is to get the power of your eyes checked again with cycloplegic drops that is after putting drops for dilating the pupil and also your eye muscles should be checked.

I am 24 female , I want to know about laser eye surgery for spectacle removal. My eyesight vision is RT - 1.25.

Fellowship in Comprehensive Ophthalmology, DOMS
Ophthalmologist, Sangrur
Hello lasik is very good option to get rid of glasses doctor will perform few tests (schirmer test, pentacam and fundus examination) and if all tests are normal then you can go for lasik surgery without fear. Success rate of lasik is over 96%. Side effects may vary from minimal like mild dryness, dalk, haloes, glare to severe like infection (very rare). Precaution include: a. Avoid face/head wash for 1 week b. Avoid swimming /water sports for 6 weeks c. Avoid eye make up for 6 weeks cost: depends on type of lasik which varies from 25000 for standard lasik to 1.10 lacs for smile lasik I hope this will help you regards.

I want I specs to be removed by natural way without any kind of surgery. Power is just -1.25 & -1.00.

FICO, DNB Ophtalmology
Ophthalmologist, Gandhinagar
Hello Reshank. The power (-1.25 and -1.0) is not a BIG power. In fact, you may not require glasses all the time. Only while viewing distant objects, eg. small line on the television, movies at the the theatre, while driving vehicles, etc would you need to use your glasses. To remove the specs in a natural way is actually nature's decision! What i mean to say that usually, it is impossible to remove spectacle power without surgery. One suggestion is that you could try using contact lenses if you are uncomfortable with glasses. Contact lenses used in the proper way (maintaining good hygiene) help to provide a better field of vision as well. In case you need more guidance with this, we could get in touch via the video facility offered by lybrate. Let me know if required. Hope my suggestions help you. Take care. Regards. -Dr. Chaitanya Shukla.

Why Some Of The Persons Got Small Eyes Like cheese Have Small Eyes, What Is The The Logic Behind This.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hi, The features of a person depends upon age, race, genetics, climactic conditions of the place. For e.g. as the atmospheric pressure is less at high places like Kashmir, the percentage of oxygen decreases, so you will find them with sharp, pointed, slim nose which causes them to breath oxygen well.

I want to reduce farsightedness no. Of my eyes. My left eye no. - 2.50 nd r8 eye no. - 3.00 I really want to reduce these no. What can I do.

Fellowship in Comprehensive Ophthalmology, DOMS
Ophthalmologist, Sangrur
There is no medication or food for improving eyesight or to get rid of glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 18 years so your number will not increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. As you are not comfortable with contact lens then go for lasik. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik.
