Nothing can't be done for biting. But you can protect your teeth by wearing a guard. It is a flexible plate, dentist will make for you. It would work as cushion and protect your teeth from grinding. Visit a dentist. Generally it is called'night guard'

Dense saliva can usually be due to dehydration, ask your friend to take more water and if the problem still persists after few days then visit a dentist.

Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need cleaning and artificial enamel filling or root canal treatment. Advance procedures can be done with laser. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

Myths and Facts about Dental care

Myth 1: Scaling is not good for teeth

Fact: Scaling removes tartar and keeps teeth and gums healthy. Scaling and deep cleaning of gums prevent the problem of bad breath and bleeding gums. Thus, scaling is beneficial for teeth and gums. One should get professional cleaning done by a dentist with a proper ultrasonic scaler. Also, getting extensive scaling (more than required) done is harmful.

Myth 2: Only sugar causes cavities

Fact: Cavities occur when bacteria produce acids in the mouth. The process can begin by any carbohydrate that you consume. That includes sugar, fruits, vegetables, rice and bread. To reduce chances of tooth decay, one should not only practice good dental care but also limit the intake of acidic products.

Myth 3: Teeth whitening is harmful as it damages enamel

Fact: Technique like zoom whitening works by exfoliating stains from one's teeth to lighten them and bring back their natural colour. It is the simplest and safest procedure as a product is used by dentists that is devoid of bleaching agents and chemicals.

Myth 4: Brushing your bleeding gums is bad

Fact: Brushing is not only good on teeth, but also on your gums and tongue. Brushing these areas helps get rid of plaque which is what causes inflammation and eventually gum disease. One should not brush too hard if they have sensitive gums. One must not use a hard toothbrush on bleeding gums.

Myth 5: Using sugarless chewing gum after meal can replace brushing

Fact: Nothing can replace proper brushing technique. And in case you want to use sugarless chewing gum do not chew it for more than 10 minutes.

As per your complain, it seems that your problem originated from wisdom tooth of that area. Before jumping to any neurological diagnosis it is better to have a good x ray of your mouth and consult any dentist. Most probably you are suffering from pericoronitis.

I have got sensitivity problem in my teeth. What I will do? I used sensodine but there is no relief.
Sensitivity of teeth is mostly due to loss of outer layer of teeth (enamel) and exposure of second layer of tooth (dentin). The dentine caries all sensation of air, water, cold to the nerve of tooth. So block these dentine layer you have to use desensitizing or nerve blocking tooth paste. You can use thermoseal ra, shy- nm, sensoform and also sensodyne. You have to use these pastes by applying it on your tooth surface for 5-7 minutes, after that you can brush with the same tooth paste. It takes time to recover this condition but if you make an effort nothing is impossible.

Go for scaling and polishing. This will clean your teeth and whiten it a bit. Than maintain it with brushing twice daily with use of mouthwash. Gargle forcefully with water after you eat or drink anything. Limit your food intake to 4-5 times a day. Avoid sticky and junk foods.
