Im 29 years old married lady. I have so many doubts about copper T. I think this is the right place to clear my doubts without hesitation. please suggest answer s to my every question. Please. Can we place a copper T after an medical abortion? Will this insertion be painful? Will this really stops pregnancy? Will it causes any pain during periods? Is this be visible outside vagina? Can this be noticed by my husband during intercourse? Will this copper T be effected by fingering foreplay during intercourse? Will this effects menstrual cycle? Thank you in advance.

MBBS, MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Delhi
CopperT is inserted on 5-7 day of menstrual cycle ,it's an highly effective method of contraceptive, failure rate being <1%. It's a one time method ,can be inserted for 3, 5or 10 yrs, after its duration it has to be removed ,if you want early removal it can be removed earlier. At time of insertion there is slight pain, In some patients few cycles after insertion bleeding is slightly heavier but in 2-3 cycles it settles. It's not visible outside vagina and it does not cause any problem in intercourse or foreplay.

Symptoms of Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia Disorder and Psychosis

Multi Speciality Clinic

Symptoms of Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia Disorder and Psychosis

Bipolar disorder: Also known as manic-depressive disorder, bipolar disorder is the sudden change in mood, which might take a swing from depression to mania. It is a very severe disorder and can bring about unstable and precarious behavior. The risk of having suicidal tendencies is also quite high. Bipolar disorder is usually treated with medicines alongside therapy.

Symptoms:

  1. Bipolar mania
  2. Hypomania
  3. Depression
  4. Mood swings

The mood swings do not follow any particular pattern.

Schizophrenia Disorder: Schizophrenia is a chronic mental disorder which affects the general behavior and lifestyle of a person. Schizophrenics might face a difficulty in distinguishing between the real and the imaginary.

Contrary to public belief, schizophrenia is neither split personality nor multiple personalities. It is not an after effect of any previous traumatic experience. It might be genetic or a result of chemical imbalance in the brain chemicals.

Symptoms:

  1. Paranoia
  2. Senseless talking
  3. Feeling apathetic
  4. Insomnia
  5. Personality change
  6. Hallucinations
  7. Delusions
  8. Withdrawal from society
  9. Attention deficit disorder or add

No specific medicine is available for schizophrenia. Usually, rehabilitation is advised to regain confidence and recover skills required for a productive life.

PsychosisSimilar to schizophrenia, psychosis is another mental disorder which is characterized by hallucinations and delusions. Psychosis is extremely dangerous and harmful as it might spur you to cause self-inflicted wounds and pain. It is of utmost importance to consult a doctor immediately after experiencing psychotic symptoms.

Symptoms:

  1. Hallucinations
  2. Delusions
  3. Depression
  4. Anxiety
  5. Suspicion
  6. Insomnia or hypersomnia
  7. Withdrawal from society
  8. Attention deficit disorder or add
  9. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or ADHD

The only available diagnosis for psychosis is a psychiatric evaluation. Certain medical tests and x-rays may also be executed along with it to detect the underlying cause. Psychosis may be caused due to Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, brain tumors, Alzheimer's disease, epilepsy, etc.

Although there aren't any medical complications in psychosis, it should not be left untreated due to its harmful effects. Medication and therapy are the known cures of psychosis.

Hello doctor I am 7 month pregnant now I feel extremely hot in my feet and hands please tell me why this is happening?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
Hello doctor I am 7 month pregnant now I feel extremely hot in my feet and hands please tell me why this is happening?
These kind of symptoms are normal in pregnancy and does not need any special treatment. Some women find relief by soaking their hands and/or feet in cold water or holding an ice bag for a few minutes a couple of times a day. Hot and burning sensations in the feet are also very common in pregnancy, not only due to a sudden increase in weight and swelling, but because of hormonal changes that cause a slight increase in body temperature. Cooling gels, spas and regular bathing of the hand and feet will help to keep feet feeling cool and refreshed.
