Hi. Let me you about hairfall. We can divide hairfall into 2 types - temporary hairfall and permanent which is called 'Hairloss' rather and leads to bald areas of smooth and shiny surface. In temporary hairfall, hair grows back again from the same hair root, but in case of permanent hairloss, because of formation of DHT (Di- Hydro -Testosterone) around hair root it gets choked up which subsequently affects the blood supply to the hair and thus hair root is lost forever. Many factors are responsible formation of this DHT or hairloss- hereditary, post-illness/ ailment, post-delivery, post- chemotherapy, nutritional deficiencies, hormaonal imbalance, insufficient sleep, sudden loss of weight, stress/ tensions/ excessive anger any other underlying diseases, etc. Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs, pulses, legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnut and almonds), iron-rich food like green vegetables, also take flaxseeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smooking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga/ gym teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Get your S. Ferritin, S. Iron, S. Calcium, S. Vit. D3, S. Vit. B12 and Thyroid profile done and share the reports with me. Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200/ twice a day for 1 month and revert me back. You can also take a multivitamin - Supradyn or Centrum/ 1 tab. daily/ once a day for 3mths. as nutritional deficiencies can also leads to premature greying of hair.

Hi. It's normal to loose up to 100 hair per day, and in most people, those hairs grow back. But many men -- and some women -- lose hair as they grow older. You can also lose your hair if you have certain diseases, such as thyroid problems, diabetes, or lupus. If you take certain medicines or have chemotherapy for cancer, you may also lose your hair. Other causes are stress, a low protein diet, a family history, use of bore water, or nutritional deficiencies. Need to rule out any causative factor or underlying medical condition. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, Vitamin B12, iron, zinc and Omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin) , different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, dates, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! Cover your head with scarf or cap while stepping outside. Use Rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Medication: Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa Tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Also, use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica Hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from this, take Follihair tablets (multivitamin) - 1 tab. daily once for 1 month. Investigations advised: Get your blood tested for (empty stomach) - CBC, S. Iron, S. Folic acid, S. Ferritin, S. Calcium, S. Vitamin D3, S. Vitamin B12. If there is any family history of Thyroid dysfunction, get Thyroid function test done as well.

Why do hairfall while oiling ? So should i stop oilingg my hair or wat. Which oil is best . and i already have hairfall problem.

Fellowship in dermatosurgery, MD - Dermatology , Venereology & Leprosy, MBBS
Dermatologist, Mumbai
Hair that have been shed usually fall off while oiling due to mechanical stimuli. Oiling does not lead to hair fall as such. Our scalp inherently has enough sebum to keep our hair healthy and there is no need for oil application. But if you wish to apply oil, coconut oil is good enough. As regards your hairfall problem, it needs to be assessed by expert dermatologist for the cause.

Hi, I am suffering from hair loss. Hair fall started at high speed after consuming much medicine in 2010. I want it's treatment. Please suggest cheaper and effective medicine for this. Does masturbation causes hair loss? Please revert.

There is no relation between masturbation and hairloss. You may be suffering from androgenic alopecia which is also called as pattern baldness. The hairs start reducing in density at the crown (top) and also the hairline starts refeeding from the front. This is usually progressive throughout life unless treated. This may also be accompanied by severe dandruff. The FDA approved treatment for this condition is a lotion and tablets. There is no other alternative. No oil or cream will magically work because the hairs are getting miniaturised and eventually disappearing due to the hormonal effects on the hair roots. Along with this, you can also consider platelet rich plasma therapy for faster results. Please contact me with photos using online consult option for proper examination and treatment. Do not start treatment without consulting. I can give guidance and then you can continue treatment on your own.

Eucalyptus oil is also an essential oil that can help to stimulate the growth of facial hair. But because it can cause irritation of the skin, it must be mixed with any carrier oil; olive oil or sesame oil is a good option. •Into half a cup of the carrier oil, add between 15 to 30 drops of eucalyptus oil •Mix and massage this oil onto the facial skin. •Allow it to remain for about 30 minutes and then rinse with cold water and a gentle soap if you find the oily feeling irritating. Pay attention to these natural factors also when you are working on growth of your Mostache/Beard naturally. 1. Eat health so as to give your body enough vitamins and minerals esp. Spinach, Yogurt, Tomatoes, Carrot, Beans. 2.. It is also important to keep your face clean by using a mild moisturizing face wash; however, avoid frequent washing with strong soaps that tend to dehydrate the skin 3. If you smoke, understand that nicotine does not exactly promote facial hair growth – so, here’s another reason to quit the habit 4. Stress is likely to prevent growth of facial hair; so keep stress at bay by a regular practice of yoga or meditation. HOMOEOPATHIC MEDICINE LYCOPODIUM 30 Dr. Reckeweg) Drink 5 drops in 1 spoon fresh water at night every week ACID PHOSPHORICUM Q (Dr. Reckeweg) Drink 20 drops in 20 ml fresh water 3 times daily.
