Good day 1 week ago saturday I had a very bad injury I fall down on ice and injure my left leg. I went toi the hospital and stayed one day there now they saying my muscles above my left knee (ferrum) was a little bit broken open and we can do two things they told me or we make operation or put a brace. I have chosen for a brace and they told me 4 weeks home to recover with the brace and do not walk too much and walk with crutches. My question is will I recover with my leg totally after a lot of rest and do not walk too much.

Hi your nervous pain might be occurring due to some compression of nerve in you neck region (cervical region) this can happen due to tight muscle as you are young it should be definately due to tight muscle aroung you neck so try to take some hot pack twice a day for 10 minutes each your muscle will get relaxed and then you should feel better if not, then I think you should show it to some physiotherapist.

A medium firm mattress is ideal for you if you sleep on your back. For side sleepers, a mattress with slight softness is necessary to cushion the shoulders and hips. Stomach sleepers (who very likely sleep this way because of lower back pain) need a firmer mattress to keep them afloat.

1.Take crocin 500mg one tablet sos after food upto a maximum of 3 tablets daily 2.Apply volini gel twice daily 3.Give local hot fomentation 4. Take rest If you have recurrent attack of neck pain a)Take X ray cervical spine to exclude spondylitis and consult orthopedic specialist b)Sometimes It could be due to bad sitting posture while reading or working on computer. Adopt proper sitting posture, put neck rest c) Consult for further advice

I have got the hair line fracture in my right ankle and doctor has advised me to go for plaster (30days). Would like to check anything which can fasten the recovery time?

Medicines will decrease recovery time only, if you are suffering with deficiency of it like calcium with vitamin d. You should keep plaster for 30 days, as per your doctor's advise.

I face acidity problem every day and also found pain in ankle and knee of my left leg.
Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

I took medicines for it but it didn't affect so much. And now I travel everyday 20-30 km on moped because my college is far from my house. So can you please tell me some exercise tips. Lybrate-user having pain in knee of your is nothing to do with diabetes provided their b sugar is under control - having pain in knee for 3-4 days could be linked to some un-knowing traumatic injury or strain in ligament or osteo-arthritic changes in knees - go for uric acid test / ra factor / and x-ray knee will help us in ruling out certain possibilites. For the time being put a cotton clothe soaked in hot salted water and apply over knee with give some relief.

Hi, if you have pain for more than 2 months, it's not a symptom any more but chronic pain disease. Important is to put diagnosis about pain generator (source of pain, if it from spine (disc, facet joints, nerve) then get the help of specialist such as interventional pain specialist or orthopedician in your city, but if it is due to muscular spasm still i'd advise to take from specialist for some medicine prescription and physiotherapy if that deemed necessary.

Dear lybrate-user the pain is not related to surgery. Gym exercises can give some pain which is relieved with ice therapy. If pain persists then see a doctor. The urine color is naturally yellow. Still to clear your doubt you can get urine examination done in Lab.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana -- lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Hello lybrate-user, get a mri done to pin point the cause and site of pain. Meanwhile go for ayurveda's panchkarma therapy - we have many option for you - kati basti (specialised panchakarma procedure for backpains), localised massgae with herbal oils, localised medicated steam, pottali massage. Continue these procedures for atleast 15 days. Regular oiling of the joint will improve the lubrication also. These procedures will relax your back muscles and give strength to your nerves and muscles of back. Also start some yogic exercises - tadasana, dhanurasan, halasana along with these therapies. This will greatly help. Please avoid pushing / pulling heavy objects, long sittings, long two-wheeler drives. Although some herbal medicines might also help you but after proper history taking..
