I am 43 years and having throat problem frequently and ulcers also visible, Pls advice.

MS - ENT
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Gandhinagar
Ulcers in mouth: It is also known as apthus ulcers. They are very painful and restrict chewing and swallowing due to pain. Mainly it is due to Dyspepsia, consumption of heavy Antibiotics which kills normal Bacterial flora which makes vit B complex for our body. It is also due to mental tension. I have seen so many exam going students having ulcers in mouth and when exam is over it is cured. It is different from cancer ulcer as cancer ulcer is not painful and it doesn’t heal. High dose of Vit B, pain killing oral paste, Tratment of constipation, Stopage of Heavy antibiotics added to it, etc as per requirement helps the pt.

Hello lybrate-user. Don't get disheartened. But yes there are no medicines to get back your hearing. But you need to be careful in future, while taking medicines, and also about noise exposure. Get your test repeated after one year. In between if you have any complains please get back to me.

Actually I smoked 2or 3 cigarettes in a day. From the last two days I am suffering from throat pain chest pain I want to know what happen to me and solution.

MBBS, DPM
Psychiatrist, Bangalore
Congratulations Yugandhar for thinking of cigarettes as cause for throat and chest pain. This is the best time, to plan and to stop smoking permanently. If you go on, you may need more and more cigarettes and stopping them will be more and more difficult. However check with your doctor your throat and chest. There are other causes for it - they will be treated accordingly.

I have use nicotine gum for quitting smoking habit. But whenever I used that gum my throat burn. Should I stop taking that. please suggest.

BHMS, Certified in Aesthetic Skin Treatments, Certified in Applied Behaviour Analysis
Homeopath, Mumbai
Any nicotine that is swallowed with saliva or washed down with eating or drinking will not be effective. If a substantial amount of nicotine is swallowed, it may cause such side effects as heartburn, upset stomach or hiccups. Thus, do not eat or drink while you have the gum in your mouth. Your feedback matters. Thank-you.

are you currently taking any medication? do prevent a sore throat infection, a sore throat (pharyngitis) is normally a symptom of a bacterial or viral infection, such as the common cold. In around a third of cases, no cause for the sore throat can be found. If you have a sore throat, you may also have: swollen tonsils (tonsillitis), enlarged and tender glands in your neck, discomfort when swallowing, I am a general physician who will prescribe you an appropriate treatment plan for your case, do reply back for medication prescriptions. Being also a general physician and registered dietitian, I prescribe both evidence based herbal as well as allopathic medicines complementing with dietary guidelines and home remedies carefully personalized for each individual patient.
