Hi Sir, My brother had cough & fever from Sept-Nov 2015 he was on Antibiotics, Paracetamol and cough syrup for same time but didn't got any relief finally done Chest CT scan in Nov and found Pleural Effusion, pleural fluid aspirate done on 24th Nov but whole fluid didn't not aspirated because patient get vertigo problem during aspiration so doctor stop aspiration, from 24th Nov TB treatment started. He got mild relief from cough and fever But after 15-20 days he again faced severe cough and mild fever, again CT scan and Chest sonography done and found some pleural fluid. Again, pleural fluid aspiration done and TB treatment continue, from that day he started getting relief day by day. Now is feeling absolutely fine. TB treatment is continue from Nov till today. From April he started feeling Hip shoulder back knee and Feet pain, some blood test done and found Vitamin B12 & Vitamin D is very much deficient. Since last 40 days he having pain, pin needles and burning sensation in both feet. As per doctor prescription all types pain killer reliever like Dynapar SR, Zobid Zerodol SP etc taken but till today didn't got any relief in feet pain, even pain killer didn't work for 1 hour. We took opinion from Orthopedic and Neuro Surgeon and done MRI of Spine and Feet, MRI is normal as per MRI report but Feet pain and burning is still persist Now we consult with Neurologist, he said it look that it's Neuropathy due to TB medicine Isonizad. He said to consult TB physician and stop taking Isonizad and he prescribed Tab Pregabalin, Zen 100, Ultracet and Deep Senz ointment. We again consult with our TB physician, he said TB drug Isonizad can't be withdrawal because if we stop it TB May relapse later. As per doctor TB treatment will continue for more 3 months i. E. Till the end August Feet pain burning pin needles sensation is still persist after 4-5 days treatment of Tab Pregabalin, Zen 100, Ultracet and Deep Senz ointment. Pain is severe that patient not getting any relief. So now we are very confused and can't understand what to do. Pls advise what to do to get relief from pain Thanks & regards.

Dear it's all because of the work strain that you are getting the problem. It may be associated with cervical spondylitis also as you say you have numbness in your hands and fingers. You need to do some exercises for your neck and keep ice pack on the trapezius. Wishing you good health.

Hi = relax and stay positive. = increase fluid intake. = eat seasonal fruits for natural vitamins = do stretching of hamstring, quadriceps, and calf muscles. = if you are overweight, reduce weight by cycling or swimming as it gives low impact on joints. = do check your calcium and vit. D = apply moist heat pad to affected joint and muscles. Dear Doctor, My mother is 76 years old. She is usually very agile, workaholic from the time I had seen her. She takes care of cooking & other household work till now. Her daily routine is: Gets up at 4.30 am in the morning, goes out for walking by 5.00 am. Walks between 30 - 40 minutes. Comes back - does meditation for 20 min; then does Yoga for 30 minutes. By the time she finishes all this it will be around 6.30 am. Then she goes to Kitchen and does breakfast and lunch for my wife and children - as they get ready to go to their work. Goes back to bed around 11.00 pm. Till she retires to bed, she is almost doing some work in the house. Maybe takes 1 hr rest in the noon time. Coming to her health issue: She has been diagnosed for diabetes for the past 4 years and is taking Glycomet GP1 - one tab in the morning and one at night; Her sugar reading taken a couple of days back reads: Fasting: 189 and PP 196. Her food habits: Breakfast: 3 idli or 2 chapattis or 2 doses. Lunch: Rice with some dal and vegetables and 1 green; Dinner: 2 chapattis; Upuma or Kichadi. Eats a piece of apple and guava and some dry fruits and nuts. Has one glass of milk before going to bed. For the past 6 months she is finding it difficult to walk outside, as her legs are paining. Pain radiates from bottom part of hip till the heels of her both legs. Usually she walks faster than men. Now she is feels her legs are heavy and knees paining as she walks. End of her walk back home, she is sweating and panting for breath; Her question is: She does everything that is recommended and advised by Doctors. Still why would she be having such a problem at her age? What investigations are to be done? Which specialist doctor has she to check about her health issue? Would appreciate your thoughts and advise to my dear mother.

What are the symptoms of hernia and what precautions can be taken to avoid a disease like hernia.

A hernia occurs when an organ pushes through an opening in the muscle or tissue that holds it in place. For example, the intestines may break through a weakened area in the abdominal wall. Hernias are most common in the abdomen, but they can also appear in the upper thigh, belly button, and groin areas. Most hernias are not immediately life threatening, but they don’t go away on their own and can require surgery to prevent potentially dangerous complications.some key points about hernia. More detail and supporting information is in the body of this article. Hernias are abnormal bulges created by a weakness or hole, usually in the abdominal wall. The main types of hernia are femoral, inguinal, hiatal, umbilical and incisional. Hernias often produce no troublesome symptoms, but some abdominal complaints may signal a serious problem. They are usually straightforward to diagnose, simply by feeling and looking for the bulge. Treatment is a choice between watchful waiting and corrective surgery, either via an open or keyhole operation. Congenital diaphragmatic hernia is an uncommon birth defect involving hernia of a newborn's diaphragm. It can be diagnosed during a pregnancy scan and needs medical attention. Inguinal hernia surgery is more common in childhood and old age, while the likelihood of femoral hernia surgery increases throughout life.13 An overwhelming majority of groin hernia repair is for inguinal hernia (97% in one review), rather than femoral hernia (3%). The reoperation rate for inguinal hernia is around 4% in men and 5% in women
