How To Relieve Your Sinus Infection In Under 30 Seconds

How To Relieve Your Sinus Infection In Under 30 Seconds

Especially during allergy season, wake up daily so stuffed up. One can’t breathe through their nose, their eyes itch, and it’s all around not a very fun experience.
This method to relieve sinus congestion.
Of course, this alone won’t fix the problem permanently. Kicking up the spicy food in your life and drinking lots of pure water will help relieve sinus congestion as well.

Here’s method:

Push your tongue against the roof of your mouth. Apply pressure but don’t go overboard.
Place your thumb between your eyebrows.
Press down with your thumb for about 30 seconds, applying a decent amount of pressure. Don’t push too hard though.
Your sinuses will begin to drain almost immediately.
This works because the vomer bone in your nasal passages rocks back and forth with the pressure, which loosens up the phlegm in your sinuses, allowing it to drain.

I am suffering from sinus problem since last 1 years as soon as dust or cold gets in conditions go bad is there any cure?

Diploma in Otorhinolaryngology (DLO), MBBS
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Bangalore
Looks like an allergic problem. The sinus openings get blocked & the sinuses do not get aerated. That is why one gets the headache. There is hyperactivity of the nasal mucosa as soon as dust or weather conditions prevail. Covering the nose when you go out might help a bit. Get a nasal endoscopic examination done to rule out any other nasal pathology. Consult an ent surgeon.

I am 51 years male I am suffering from sinusitis from 10 years there is pain below I bows, please give suggestion or prescription for the above problem.

DORL, MBBS
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Faridabad
Main symptoms for sinusitis are thick nasal discharge, headache, watering eyes, forehead pain, recurrent infection of nose and mouth, post nasal drip, sinusitis, is nothing but a physiological disorder of nose which led by malfunctioning of aerodynamics of nose (temporary sinusitis, secondly it is because of repeated infections of the sinus (permanent sinusitis) sinuses regulations and air conditioning of the air which we breathe and to get the benefit of above we must have normal, well sized opened sinusitis and hence nose breathing is required, those who breathe from mouth, they have tendency to get more throat and lungs infections. Recurrent sinus infection, pollution, poor diet, spicy food, long term steam inhalation from nose, and allergies leads to thick discharge from nose. This thick mucus if stays in the sinuses, it leads to irritation of the sinus skin which is mucosa and this go on growing hence leads to permanent sinusitis this extra growth is called nasal polyps this is where patient needs surgical correction. If patient comes to nose surgeon at right time, doctor can revert his/her symptoms and surgery can be abandoned. Sinusitis if patient does not take serious steps to correct might lead to cardiac symptoms, lung diseases, etc. Once there are nasal polyps you have to go for surgery immediately.

I am having repeated pain in my tonsil and they get infection quickly so suggest me how I will cure it.

PGDHHM, MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
Take over-the-counter painkiller medicine for throat pain. Do saline gargles twice a day. Antihistamines will be helpful. Increase your immunity by having healthy diet and some multivitamins. You might need antibiotics too. If more than 4- 5 episodes of tonsillitis in a year, consult ent doctor for surgical options.

I was operated sinus surgery last september (chronic rhino sinusitis. I have felt good post sinus surgery .both my nostrils are working properly. But now a days im feeling pressure in my neck .though I can swallow and breath properly without any pain. But I feel something pressure like closing of my neck valves. Is sinus related with this or else am I affected with thyroid problem, pls help me.

D.N.B, D.L.O
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Bangalore
It is unlikely due to sinus issues having such feeling in the neck. For thyroid issues get TSH done. Since you can breathe easily and swallow well so nothing to worry. Still you can get a neck MRI scan done to rule out any swelling inside the neck.

Normally no need to clean ears by hands, naturally ears get cleaned by internal mechanism inserting any object or finger in ears can cause infection or trauma to ear canal or eardrum.

I have burning problem in throat while taking normal spicy food. Can you suggest what I do to for it.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello. Acidity occurs when there is excess secretion of acids in the gastric glands of the stomach. When the secretion is more than usual, we feel, what is commonly known as heartburn, which is normally triggered off by consumption of spicy foods. Here are some home remedies to cure acidity. - Skip the aerated drinks as well as the caffeine. Opt for herbal tea instead. - Have a glass of lukewarm water everyday. - Include banana, watermelon and cucumber in your daily diet. Watermelon juice is great for curing acidity. - Coconut water is known to soothe the system if you suffer from acidity. - Drink a glass of cold milk - everyday. - Have your last meal at least two to three hours before going to bed. - Keeping long intervals between meals is another cause for acidity. Have small but regular meals. - Try to avoid pickles, spicy chutneys, vinegar, etc. - Boil some mint leaves in water and have a glass of this after meals. - Jaggery, lemon, banana, almonds and yogurt are all known to give you instant relief from acidity. - Excessive smoking and drinking will increase acidity, so cut down. - Try chewing gum. The saliva generated helps move food through the esophagus, easing symptoms of heartburn. - Eat Ginger as it aids in digestion. - A simple preparation of lemon water with sugar can be sipped on an hour before lunch to reduce uneasiness. - Have vegetables like drumsticks, beans, pumpkin, cabbage, carrot and spring onions. Medication: Take Biochemic medicine - Natrum Phos. 6x/ thrice daily ½ an hour after meals.

This is because of crusting within the nose. To reduce the crusting use solspre nasal spray 2 puffs in both nasal cavities 4-5 times a day for 3 weeks. See an ent for endoscopic removal of these crusts.

You might be suffering from tinnitus which is the sensation of hearing ringing, buzzing, hissing, chirping, whistling, or other sounds and is often associated with hearing loss. There are multiple causes of tinnitus like ear wax, middle ear infection, hypertension, migraine, age related and many more. Consult a nearby ent specialist for proper evaluation (which will include a complete ent examination, audiogram and some radiological investigations) and management which is currently cognitive behavioral therapy/ tinnitus retraining therapy.

My younger brother aged 47 has been suffering from snoring. please Suggest remedy.

BAMS
Ayurveda, Bangalore
Hi, please follow these tips to stop snoring: - reduce your weight if you are obese. - perform pranayama (breathing exercises) everyday. - quit smoking which irritates the mucosal layer of the nose and throat and causes blockage and results in snoring. - quit alcohol and sedatives which relax the throat muscles and results in snoring. - sleep on sides instead on back. - elevate the head by using a thick pillow which eases the breathing. - clear the nose before going to bed. - establish regular sleep pattern. - keep the bedroom air moist by using humidifier; as dry air irritates the mucosal membrane in the nose and throat. - perform throat exercises like repeating the vowels a, e, i, o, you loudly for 2-3 mins few times a day or keeping the tongue behind the teeth and moving it backwards - 3-4 times a day. - anti snoring appliances can also be used.

I am 28 years n my problem is right ear perforation, n I have no pain n pus coming out for ear should I have require any precaution n treatment?

MS , MBBS
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Bangalore
Hi, if you could take care to see that water does not enter the ear, even a single drop, and get immediately treated for cold, if you get one. Your ear wouldn't discharge if you would like to swim and not worry about above mentioned things you could as well get operated and get the perforation closed.
