Hair fall can be due to weather change Avoid washing your hairs daily as it can cause your hair to become dry which leads to excessive hairfall. Washing twice a week is fine. You can use SHAMPOO SELSUN twice weekly. Apply it on scalp leave it for 15 min and wash it off. Keep your scalp clean, avoid them from pollution. You can try these: 1) Boil the dried Indian gooseberries in coconut oil till the oil turns black. Wait for it to cool, and then massage your scalp with this oil. Leave it on for about 20 minutes, and then shampoo as usual. 2) A balanced diet goes a long way in maintaining the overall health, including hair health. To combat hair fall, it is important to incorporate a balanced diet. 3) avoid stress 4) exercise regularly 5) stay hydrated 6) keep your scalp clean. Usually 100 hairs falling in a day is considered to be normal .Hairfall is the most common problem people are suffering from. Hair fall can be due to various reasons like dandruff, thyroid dysfunction, anemia, stress, nutritional deficiency, your skin is also affected because of the same reason listed above. So get yourself investigated to rule out any underlying pathology. To treat dandruff.

How to Deal with Back Pain

MD, FIPP
Pain Management Specialist, Kolkata
How to Deal with Back Pain

Whether you're old or young, male or female, having a backache can be a real pain! A number of factors ranging from osteoarthritis to muscle strains can be attributed to back pains. No matter what the cause of a backache, a combination of core strengthening exercises, activity, and physical therapy can help lessen the pain.

A backache can be caused by something as simple as bending the wrong way. Hence, the first step towards dealing with a backache is to pay attention to daily movements. If you have to lift something heavy off the floor, bend your knees and let the weight of your load fall on your legs instead of it falling on your back. Here is more on how you can fight back pain with a bit of effort:

1. Light exercises
Simple, light exercises are the most effective ways of dealing with back pain. The key to exercising your back is moderation and knowing your limits.

2. Brisk walk and yoga
Regular brisk walks and yoga exercises that strengthen and stretch back muscles are effective ways to reduce and prevent back pain.

3. Right posture
Exercise can also help reduce excess weight that in turn helps reduce backaches. Slouching not only causes a hunch back but also aggravates back aches. Hence, maintain a right posture to take the pressure off nerves and lower back pain.

4. Proper posture while sleeping
A good night's sleep can also help soothe inflamed back joints and repair strained muscles. Pay attention to your mattress and ensure that your back is flat when you lie on it. Sleeping on your side can also help deal with the back pain. Consider resting your neck on a pillow, to keep your spine aligned while you sleep.

5. Hot & cold therapy
Experiment with hot and cold therapy before picking one of them to deal with your back pain. While applying ice packs on your back can help reduce inflammations, hot packs work better to reduce cramps and muscle spasms. Whether you use a hot pack or a cold pack, do not leave it on for more than 20 minutes.

6. Natural supplements
Natural supplements such as flaxseed oil, calcium, magnesium and vitamin c are helpful when dealing with back pains.

For short-term relief, you could also try over the counter pain relievers. However, do not let this become a long-term habit, as your body could get dependent on it. Other potential side effects could include stomach and liver problems. Hence, if your backache does not subside on its own, it is best to consult a doctor before treating it yourself.

You may be an introvert. This is a problem of fearing people for what they think about you. Yes, people will often judge you but that is not the final word. When we try to read other people’s mind we will always think that they know the worst things about you, that your flaws are easily visible, and then you feel self-conscious and guilt. This is all far from the truth. People do not know you, even if they are married to you for many years!!! In fact, you do not know yourself for many years and may go to your grave with a minimum understanding of yourself. So, face people with confidence, knowing that they are the least knowledgeable about you. Sometimes, your family may not have socialized much and that can also give you a disadvantage about mixing and meeting people. This can be unlearned and you can make a new beginning and easily become a social butterfly. Many people have hesitations about social situations and are in the same boat: you have a lot of company. The bottom line is that you have fear: deal with your fear and people will seem different, and not so threatening. The ability to socialize is a natural ability in all of us. If it was not stimulated early in your life, now is not too late. We are all gregarious by nature, and need each other, to the extent that we are all interdependent. This usually has to do with your self-esteem or how you feel the others rate you. It is indicative that your own assessment of yourself is poor or is comparatively inadequate. Feeling inadequate is just that: it is a feeling, it is not necessarily true. Do some personality development work with a counselor, or attend these classes to shape your persona and improve your image and esteem. This will go a long way to get out of this quandary you find yourself in. And do not live by the opinion of others too much, unless there is a genuine concern about yourself. This way you may lose your identity. I will not be surprised, if that is an issue too. We are born because of a relationship. We develop because of one too. Finally, we are dependent in life and succeed in life depending on our ability to relate well and comfortably with other people. So relating to people is a very important aspect of our personality. You may not be a people-person and will therefore fear the acceptance or not of others. This fear is quite often unfounded. You should also go for counseling to identify what in your upbringing may have contributed to this situation. That can then be worked out and resolved. Do attend a gym to work out a good body for good self-image. If you need public speaking skills, attend the Toastmasters Club. Sometimes the fear will cripple your ability to hold a conversation. In that case, you could do a conversation development course and improve the art. The main thing is to help you get over the fear, which as mentioned earlier may be unfounded. But if you deal with that fear, you could quite easily come out of this and become an extraordinarily successful individual in all spheres in life. I recommend that you meet people by attending conferences, seminars, workshops, meetings, and social clubs. In time this anxiety will dissipate and disappear, completely.

Knee. Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold). Shoulder. Advice. Regular stretching of shoulder muscles. Warm up and cool down is a must. Hot fomentation.
