How I can improve weight
My height is near about 6 feet and my weight is 54, kg only. Please advise.
Gaining weight is as difficult as losing it, if you are naturally thin. Skinny people complain that they can't put on any weight.If you want to build up weight, don't just eat high-calorie junk foods and rely on unnecessary supplements. Choose foods that are energy-dense and nutrient-dense whenever possible. Following are some tips to follow to increase your weight. You will take some time to gain the weight you need, but be patient. 1. If you have a rapid metabolism, then you must increase your daily intake of healthy foods (increase your intake of carbohydrates) to compensate for the rate at which you burn energy. Eat six smaller meals a day You should also eat more energy dense foods like healthy oils, dry fruits, seeds, nuts, pulses, etc. along with some starchy foods like potatoes, cereals, bread, pasta, rice, etc. 2. Consume more calories than you burn. Choose healthy calorie-dense food to add calories. Drink healthy beverages to add calories. Mangoes are rich in calories and carbohydrates, include them in your diet. 3. Eat healthy food frequently, 5-6 times a day - 3 larger meals and 3 smaller meals alternately. Separate them by at least 3 hours so you can digest each meal fully. Don't go without food for 5-6 hours after having a major meal. For example, if you wish to consume 3000 calories a day, you may eat 3 larger meals of about 650 calories and 3 smaller meals of about 450 calories. 4. Have a balanced diet. 5. Exercise regularly for putting on weight. Some thin people think that exercise is not good for them. This is not true, it keeps the metabolism high. Remember that eating alone is not sufficient. You don't want to gain fat but lean mass, so exercise is important. Resistance training exercises will help to increase your muscle mass, which in turn will increase metabolism. Learn to distinguish between weight gaining exercises and weight loss exercises. Note that if you do not get enough amino acids during exercise, the existing muscle may break down. Amino acids come from protein foods so you should eat such foods after exercise. Keep in mind that excessive exercise without putting back the energy you have used will not help you to put on weight.

From the symptoms it seems you may having infestation of intestinal parasites like hook warms, round warms, tape warms. Normally one should get dewarming done at least once a year if not six monthly. So you can try in consultation with a doctor. It will be alright.

I want to loose weight but I am not able to do dieting. What to do, as I love junk food?

You have not mentioned your weight? if want to reduce and control weight you have to follow dietetic regimen. No non-veg, milk products like paneer, curd etc, ice cream, bakery products, cold water, fatty and fried food items, day. Time sleep. Consume lot of seasonal fruits except banana, drink warm water or plain water. 1- arogyavardhini vati 500 mg one tablet daily with water in morning in empty stomach 2-baggrys oat bran 10-15 gm (two to three teaspoon) twice daily with warm water or mixing in food item like, dal, butter milk, coconut water etc. 3- trifala churna powder 6-7 gm at bed time with warm water before treatment do lipid profile, kft, lft and record weight and again every month and report me.

Hi. My girlfriend is the from a higher caste and that's why her mother forbade her to talk with me. But we are in a relationship since 2014. A serious relationship in sense of honest amd earnest love (not to be misinterpreted with physicalities). Things changed from the time her mother became so strict about the matter. She even found an alternative for her in place of me, but she rejected the boy standing again her whole family. But as the situations lead to, she doesn't talk with me as before, marks my WhatsApp messages as seen, no reply, ignores me somewhat. I asked her out what's the matter a few days ago. She said that being the whole family and specially her mother against the relationship, whenever she texts me, or any kind of topic regarding me arises, her mother howls at her in such a disgrace, and even spitting odds and bad about me is also not restricted! Despite of all the unwelcoming circumstances, we're still in a relationship, but definitely not sire if our marriage will be possible or not. In fact the probability is leaning viciously to a big No. We both are concerned about it a lot. I'm in IIT Bombay, 1st year. But problem is I'm an SC. And that's why fear is growing upon us vein like railway tracks forever that runs parallel together but never meet! What should we do now?

As you have explained, she is in confusion to go ahead with you despite the family being so objectionable. All you can do is ask her if she can accept you against the whole world and see if you can handle it, If you are well settled in life to marry against the family. 1. Take bland diet, Avoid foods which cause acidity like spicy, oily, fatty and junk foods, onion, garlic, citrus fruit like orange grape, lemon, tomato, cucumber, raddish, vinegar, pickle etc 2. Have proper Breakfast, Don’t skip or postpone your meal, Take home made food, Avoid food and water from outside, 3. Eat food slowly, don’t rush, take smaller meals at frequent intervals like 5-6 meals per day, and don't overeat. Limit fluid intake during meal4. Drink plenty of water (8-10 glass daily). Take your meal regularly and timely. Avoid fasting, Don’t skip your breakfast. 5. Stop smoking, consumption of alcohol and tobacco, excess tea or coffee, carbonated drinks if you are having,6. Avoid stress, have adequate rest, sleep for 7-8 hours daily in night, go for regular exercise, practice yoga/meditation 7. Take one tablet of pan40 in the morning before breakfast daily for few days

Take 2-tab. Charcol at night before bed. Syp. Livoluk 10 ml at night.This can help cure in constipation. take green veg., salaad in meal.grapes at night,one apple daily in morning. Banana in morning, juice,whole grain ,oats,more fiber meal,digestive foods, plenty of water during day and 1 glass of water before meal, avoid bad habits...stress ,alcohol, smoking, non-veg.,avoid fatty meal,oily foods. To confirm cause of constipation you may go for tests stool r/m, stool c/s,lft,blood sugar,cbc,usg whole abdomen ,x ray barium meal for examination for rectum,sigmoid, best tests is endoscopy for large intestine . Do not eat papaya if you diabetic. go for walk daily in morning.

YOu have hypertension and need medicines and mild exercises and do walking and check for associated diabetes or any other disease. REduce salt intake to Max 4 grams per day and need to drink lot of water

Water - How Drinking it Can Translate to Skin Benefits?

The skin is an organ and just like all the other organs in your body, it is made up of cells. Since the cells are made up of water, they need water to function properly. Lack of hydration can cause skin issues such as dry, tight skin which might lead to flaking. Because of constant perspiration, your body loses the vital minerals and salts and that is the reason why your body needs daily replenishing.

What happens to the skin, if you do not drink sufficient water in a day?

Dry skin also has lesser resilience as compared to hydrated or oily skin, which makes it more prone to wrinkling and fine lines. The skin is made up of three layers

  • The outermost layer, which is known as the ‘epidermis’

  • The layer beneath it is called the ‘dermis’

  • The subcutaneous tissue

Usually, water loss takes place from the epidermal layer of the skin due to sweating, however, if the cells in the underlying layers are not hydrated enough, the epidermis begins to start feeling rough and loses its elasticity which can lead to degradation of its texture.

Sufficient water intake and skin - the connect

Drinking water also flushes out the dangerous toxins from within your body and your skin, which allows your skin to breathe normally again. With the normal function restored in the skin, the cells do not feel trapped or inadequate, which means they can continue with their normal functions. This helps delay skin aging by adding shine to your skin.

You should be aiming to drink 8 -10 glasses of water each day because a lesser amount can cause dehydration. Dehydration may trick the oil glands in your body into believing that they need to produce more oil which leads to an excess production of oil, thus, increasing the chance of acne.

Also, when your skin is hydrated from inside, it looks plumper and more radiant and can hide signs of aging. However, when witnessed at a histopathological level [when examined under a microscope], the signs of aging are still present but because your skin is hydrated and looks younger, these signs are invisible to the naked eye. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a dermatologist and ask a free question.

You need to get the latest test results for the analysis. So get T3, T4, TSH done, get it done on fasting that is do not take any thing including tea or coffee and get the test in the morning hours. At the same time on empty stomach get the Lipid profile test also done which will give the status of cholesterol in the blood and the first test will give thyroid hormone levels basing on which we can suggest some remedial steps. If you are already using throid medicine get the test done after taking the tablet with water and on empty stomach. Come back with the results and names of the medicines with strength if you are using any. In the open questions we can not give medicines names so you need to come in private consultation
