Tips to Prevent Back Pain While Doing Housework

Physiotherapist, Noida
Tips to Prevent Back Pain While Doing Housework

Adopt a step position and posture as in the sport of fencing, with one leg stepping out in front .this way you can easily shift forward and back in various directions. As you step forward, you can reach forward with your vacuuming hand. Keep your pelvic 'bowl' level. Put your other hand on your hip or thigh to take weight off the low back and help you stay up. Attempt to change vacuuming hands every once in a while.

These methods lower your center of gravity and automatically take some of the bends out of activity. Try the as alternative positions for a few minutes. They are really comfortable.

Attempt kneeling or half kneeling when working on low surfaces. Prop your inactive arm on yourself or on the furniture to take more weight through your arms and less through your spine.

Avoid overloading the basket. Avoid slumped or overarched alignment when lifting, loading, and carrying. Load with one hand while taking weight through the other. Use exaggerated good alignment when lifting and carrying.

These tasks are similar to each other in that they involve sustained standing in a slightly forward- bend position. Place one foot up on a box or chair or inside the cabinet under the sink to help level your pelvic bowl ; and/or tense the muscles of your buttocks and lower abdomen to maintain your pelvis stable, level, and firmly up against the counter. For one-handed tasks, prop through your 'resting' arm to take weight off the spine

Lean up against the bed and bear weight through one arm when reaching

The corners while kneeling on a pillow. This makes the job much easier.

Hello Lybrate user Thanks for the question in Lybrate. According to Ayurveda this condition is named as khalithya, caused by aggravated pitta dosha. Excess of Pitta dosha in the body is increased by hot climatic conditions, excessive intake of spicy, salty and sour food, hot and sharp food, tea, coffee, alcohol, meats and excessive smoking. Eating too much fried, oily, greasy, and acidic foods also aggravates Pitta. Pitta balancing herb (Eg: Shatavari —Asparagus) effective in treating hair fall. There are a number of other causes for hair fall like acute illness, scalp infection like dandruff, high stress, and thyroid imbalance, certain drugs, sudden weight loss and high fever. Try to rule out the cause by few investigations. Best tips to prevent hair loss Massage scalp weekly twice with Durdurpatradi taila. Do yoga and meditations as these are stress buster and mood elevator Adequate amount of water is essential for proper growth of hair One shouldn’t comb when the hair is wet Sound sleep for 7-8 hours is utmost important Avoid beverages like alcohol, coffee, excessive smoking Give more weightage to seasonal fruits and green vegetables Iron rich and adequate protein diet is good for hair loss The juice of carrot, lettuce is good for hair growth Avoid Pitta aggravating foods like spicy, fried and oily foods Applying the juice of coriander on the scalp proves very fruitful in preventing of hair loss. Apply hair pack of amla, Neem powder with warm water for 40 mins weekly twice before head shower. Rx Bringamalaka taila E/a weekly twice night application Amla bringaraj shampoo For cleansing Tricup cap 1_0_1a/f for 30 days.

Is protien shake or these body building protien powders are they good for liver and over all health? Can our liver digest this? Is it advisable if we have live problem?

PGDD, RD, Bachelor of Home Science
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
Hye. Thank you for your query. Usually you would decide to take protein supplementation to improve workout. Now, it all depends on your definition of" workout" just because you join the gym and pick a few weights or you want to grow muscles or gain weight does not justify taking protein supplementation. Proteins are not stored in the body like some nutrients. Your body will utilize only as much protein it needs and the rest will be broken down for energy purpose which is it's secondary function; main being building/repairing muscles. Depending on the exercise (ie. Strength training/cardio or activities like gymnastics or weight lifting) your body's needs for proteins varies. Although whey is natural and the most easily and quickly assimilated form of protein - it is not needed to be exclusively included in your diet. You have to have a balanced healthy protein rich diet for the protein or supplement to be utilised. Protein need totally depends on your present food intake & activity levels. Supplements are designed to combat increase in protein requirements. But mind you, just taking it to gain weight or taking it without the right type of" workout" or to burn fats can lead to side effects. Supplements cannot be taken in isolation. The dosage and combinations and requirements depend on weight training and cardio workout intensity, basic intake, medical history and lifestyle. You need to assess all these parameters if your liver is already compromised.

Hi sir/mam I had more pimples last month but now there is no pimples but I got that pimples black mark on my face. Please give me a solutions.

Ayurveda, Ambala
These are the methods to treat pimples - •Steam your face to open the pores, which in turn clear the skin. Steam your face for a couple of minutes. • Do YOGASANA daily. Especially do SINHASANA & SARVANGASANA daily. • Use oil free face wash and drink 7 -8 glass of water daily. • Do not touch your face again & again because your finger transfer bacteria to it and make it worse. If you touch it then clean your face with water. • Mix black pepper powder in some water to make paste & apply on the pimples three times a week. • Take cucumber and papaya pulp. Mix it well and add 1 tablespoon Turmeric. Make a paste and apply it on face and leave it for 15 minutes. • Take 2 teaspoon of RAKTSHODHAK syrup of BAIDYANATH company once a day after meals Be healthy.
